@adamatova I am sorry, but I cannot help you.. It is a kind of soap stone which was a gift from a former boss of mine... For the purpose I used it, you could use a cast iron trivet as well. It is just used for spreading the heat in the oven. However when you google on soapstone cubes (they came with it), you might find a supplier.
I think your oven temperature was too high. If you can get it to 350 that might be better; can you adjust the oven temperature by adjusting the burners on the stove? Or maybe bake for a shorter time; your cake looked like it was done at 17 minutes. Use the "toothpick test" - stick a toothpick (knife will work too) in the center of the cake; if it comes out clean your cake is done.
I was wondering how this stove worked, and now I know. Thank you for the demonstration.
@kimada1017 Thanks for your kind comments, I had an enjoyable experience with this oven on my trip to France this year. I love the camp oven, even if it takes a while before knowing the oven.
After a while I found that timing was pretty close to baking at home, as long as the temperature would remain constant. So I really need to watch the temperature gauge from time to time.
So it took roughly an hour and a half to bake the cake. Not bad.

@siafulinux
The total baking time is 29 minutes, otherwise you have a black cake;-) The minutes count from the start. Do not add up :-)

@Lhaasje I see... even better then! :-)

Thanks - will try the trivet. BTW would you recommend this oven or would something sturdier be of use to bake?

@adamatova For camping purposes this ideal (small, light, cheap). For home-use I would not recommend it.

@kimada1017 The longer it bakes, the more I will need to adjust the stove flame to regulate the temperature inside the oven.
So I learn not to peek too often, because peeking lowers the internal temperature.
It does have a hot spot, however a soapstone placed on the bottom of the stove can fix that problem and helps spreading the heat.

Another good video, insulation is essential with these ovens, top and sides.
