  • delta sucks

  • Turkish Airlines flies to Ghana? I did not know that!

  • jettisons fuel

  • best airline to ghana turkish airlines, strongly recomended

  • I have taken this a route many times. In fact my dad just came back from Ghana today !

  • @jonsofresh10 It makes a trip to Ghana easy but Delta customer serviec is not the greatest.

  • were you flying over Africa when the fuel was being dumped or were you in the New York area? This is a 767 I believe.

  • @BlackParis86 @BlackParis86

We had just taken off from the NY area and so we were pretty much less than an hour from NYC

  • blimey. how long was the fuel dump???

  • are you landing in JFK or Accra?

  • the guy on your left looks like he a guy on national geographic channel

  • dumb dumb...typical arrogant European, Delta Airlines is an AMERICAN airline...stupid.

  • haha good one ;D

  • Why are they dumping gas?

  • so wasteful!!!

  • I love the casualness of everyone while fuel is being dumped from the plane for 7+ minutes.

  • Can't do much but keep on looking right ?

  • I guess it was fascination at first and maybe a little denial. If it had happened while we were in the middle of the Atlantic OCEAN THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A NIGHTMARE!!!!

  • it is a normal occurence. When airplanes get to a certain class they have a landing weight they have to achieve in order to land the airplane safely and that is why they dump the fuel. It happens everyday :-).

  • I understand the landing weight issue. This means that they put in too much fuel for the flight taken which makes me wonder why. Did they overestimate the amount? Or did they have to take a shorter flight path than the original plan? Or are they landing an unscheduled stop? etc.

  • No not at all, they fuel like that for planning purposes, and per certain rules that the airlines fall under, they have to have a certain amount for reserves just in case of an Emergency. Think about it if an Emergency were to happen over sea or land and the Airplane had to hold in a pattern for a while, trust me you would want the extra fuel in the tanks. It is all for planning purposes.

  • Cessnapilot pretty much explained it all. But I also think that maybe they caught a tailwind, or arrived at their destination faster, and had enough fuel for the original time estimated rather than the actual so they had to dump.

  • @desmonddawuni OMG that Video is the best in flight video

  • @Co11io It was scary fun.

  • @DmytriE Haha they probabbly think the captain is trying to show off.Naive of the fact that something is going bad i guess!

  • Fuel-Dump?Distance from destination?

  • Great dialogue. That is if you're ready to die.

  • how long was the flight?

  • @gizzle88 Sorry for the delayed response. We had taken off from JFK for almost an hour and had to return to land at JFK so almost two hours in all but the fuel release was about 30minutes
