Qian Hong is a great Chinese dance because it's powerful and aggressive, unlike a lot of Chinese dance performances. Flying Kites has amazing choreography though. And yeah, Xami, I'm not too fond of the singing either.

Very very charming beautiful performance! I am impressed and would really be grateful to anyone who can tell me how I can get this lovely song. In Ukraine I guess Chinese folk CD with this song is unavailable. Is it possible to get it somehow by post mail or via e-mail? And these fans as well. If you are living in NYC. Just go to the store name is: Pearl River, Just google this name, you will find it. and they also has a online store. on the homepage, there is "hand fans", and then get into "fans" at the 4th page, you will find "Dancing fans", that's it. Same material, but not as long as the ones on video. But good enough for beginners. :) have fun!

i just checked this is a folk song from my home place Hebei province in China

no wonder the music struck familiar to me :)

when i was kid we used to make our own kites with papers and bamboo strips and if the kite got caught in a tree we would just make another one real quick
