Anyway, what a superb new M5 it is, good to see BMW have leaped on again compared to the V10. Personally I'm not fussed with the sound, an M5 to me is all about being quiet an understated but able to out perform most things on the road! :-)

@SikhGugz u really cant tell by seeing the inside of the car or by the smoothness of the shifts? its a 7 speed dct obv. and the 7th gear is only for overdrive aka when u want low rpms to get good gas milage. the car will hit its top speed in 6th.

Stop whining about the V8. Sure the V10's sound was special, but the new V8 is brilliant. Even critics say there isn't even the slightest delay in acceleration because of the turbos. So it's quicker, more beautiful, drives better and there even is a manual coming.

And i can remember times when the M5 had a straight-six under the bonnet, and it was in fact very good :)

High revving engines with no torque have nothing to do in big luxury sedans. This V8 is a perfect engine for M5. And it sounds more appropriate for such a car.

The E60 is still my fav with the S85 V10 yet this F10 is much faster! Specs sheet wise E60 0-60 in 4.1s top speed 209 delimited! The F10 0-60 in 3.7s top speed limited to 190! Can't you guys see the engine stop revving? The ecu was letting accelerate anymore! & knowing BMW ///M's conservative nature they say the 7th is for fuel economy but in reality when de-limited can hit 210+ mph!

VERY WEAK after 300 km/h, or at least 310 km/h. The old E60 M5 was a fucking machine. Did 330 without problems, and could of achieved maybe 340 stock!

A bit dissapointment to see this, as I was very hyped for the performance on the F10. (This comes from an AMG-fan), but it's though still a beast and it's luxury car as well, with very nice combined fuel-consumption. The fuel consumption is lower than few diesel cars and lower V6 injection engines on the marked today, so big props BMW!
