  • that is freaking huge.

  • It should have guns on it Did you ever see an aircraft carrier without guns come on its the Navy

  • are you sure that is not a boat

  • nice work really well done but when a plane lands on a carrier it has a landing hook that catches a line attached to the carrier that might help ur landing by getting ti just to land before a zone before the wire now id like to see lights on it look at a music video from 3 doors down calledn love me when im gone

  • dear santa

  • if you have the hardware for setting catapults, like servos and junk, then all you need is an arduino micro processor, that u can program to the t, for the best final result, look up arduinos with RC's on you tube, people make some amazing stuff

  • That is sick.

  • Make another video on the water laching plane and landing

  • use a tail hook system for landing

  • huge

  • i want it

  • why not make it to scale?

  • @hazmatcom1 lol

  • awesome! I think the only way to land rc aircraft on it is with FPV aircraft.

  • where is the rc jets dude ??

  • set up some sorta gear system to retract it on a pully. then use a small air pressure system to launch it. lol. something like that.

  • You mean small real aircraft carrier?

  • dude can u go on it tht would be awsome

  • try putting on the cables that help stop the planes

  • Comment removed

  • Yes I do

  • Do you live off of Carpenter Road?

  • love it. i have no ideas for the launch ideas but slow down when you are landing to not fall and use all of the landing spot.

  • If you put a jump-jet ramp at the bow vice going with a catapult, you may be able to launch all manner of RC A/C successfully. Add a crane and you might be able to recover seaplanes.

  • Great Job Mr. Aircraft Carrier guy! I have a few ideas on how you can have a catapult launch on it! Keep up the good work!

  • NICE STUFF

  • HOLY SHITTTT

  • Use a set of HSS pneumatic pistons with a large paintball tank to supply the air and to control the system use a dubble action electric DCV unit so you can launch and reset

  • Lots of lights :), eww and the airplains need to be water prof and you need to be able to launch small tug boats out of the carrier to retrive crashed airplains and return them to the air craft carrier so they can bee hooked and using pullies returned to flight deck after dried ... and cameras lots of cams to help you see what your doing!

  • Electro magnets

  • Hydrolics

  • This is fucking sick..I love this dude's idea.... Air craft carrier...

  • @Dilla255 Hahaha, your comment is fucking sick too. It made me laugh for some reason.

  • thumbs up is ur watching in 2012

  • Now you need an arsenal of planes.... [:

  • think about adding light :)

  • think about adding lights :)

  • could you imagine how much Elmers glue he used lol

  • Coooooool!!!!!!!

  • If you are willing to wate I can build a schamatic on power point on a reset desighn

  • Can it hold a person?

  • Or a heavy duty fishing reel with an electric motor to turn it, then just set the drag so the piston can launch without resistance, then simply "reel" it back in, lol

  • Nitrogen piston for the catapult with lightweight springs, or a free spooling winch to pull it back into its original position. I say nitrogen because you can store a huge amount of energy with very little space and it will provide more than enough thrust to get a model plane to takeoff speed before the end of the deck... Great model!!

  • that's a great idea!!!

  • I was on the USS Saratoga CV-60 ...and I will be watching for more vids from you! :) Awesome job....and I see a ton of pine trees in your yard...what's your elevation? Thanks, John -

  • for the catshot you could use springs that will lock and flip a switch it unlocks

  • DAFAQ?!

  • next time we want to see RC soldiers

  • @dnci14 hahaahhahahah

  • For being stationed on the uss John f Kennedy years ago. I worked on the flight deck and that's amazing job

  • get the Park Zone Vapor to land on it in the water. you have to actually try to miss the aircraft carrier. just make sure its perfectly windless :o)

  • You just need a small computer controled electromagnetic rail system like they are going to use on the newest carrier.

  • give it a reactor

  • make a extra large tank the shoots paintballs

  • OH DANG....Hope there isn't a japanese friend nearby... (If you know what im talking about.)

    (Pearl Harbor)

  • suggestion airsoft aa-gun

  • @jbcthunderdogs c02 auto bb gun would work better, go farther, more accurate, and do more damage.

  • Banana Hobbies for WWII parkflier RC planes; Zeros, Skyraiders & Corsairs. RangeVideo , for FPV set up.

    Tora Tora Tora!

  • I think you should use nylon bands for the arresting cables so it can stop on the water

then and a servo to the park ranger plane to make the hook go up into the plane so it can get off cables

  • have a rubber band on a wheel that after launch spins and resets on a hook that when released launches it and have it turn to start increasing tension and by the way that i frickin awesome!!!!!!!

  • you should add a arresting cable to make it look more realistic. also add a helicopter pad.

  • Its beautiful but not exactly scaled right. The hull is the wrong type, but being that its in the water its not a big deal. You could make the arresting wires out of black rubber bands or string attached to motors that retract the wires. Small Park flyers fitted with hooks should be able to land on it. The cat could be controlled by a brushless motor with string attached to a hook on the track, so that way it can launch and reset.

  • @MrWati25 the RC planes that size can stop after landing quickly so I dont think the arresting wires are exactly needed, and i agree, maybe the only good thing would be to launch off of it, landing is just asking for a reason to buy a new plane, maybe, hydraulics for the launch? because their quick and can be controlled to go back and forth, dude, this is fugggggin cool, I really wanna see this thing in action, it'd be awesome to feel like a giant and ride the middle while planes are launching

  • wow!! O.o

  • I find my self insting part of Youtube again. Growing palms out does and Make people qestion my sanely is a great Hoble anyways.

  • Plaese post a vid of the thing in the water with a airplane taking off it once its done

  • I want to know if it can hold a person

  • Dear Santa...

  • Pretty neat

  • what you need to do is put a hook on the top or the bottom of the plane, and put a loose rubber band/elastic( to wear it wont sling back super fast ) to the carrier so it can stop safley

  • AMAZING DUDE :)

  • i would try compress air or gas for your launcher and catcher

  • I have a couple ideas for a launch system I could email you.

  • I know they made rubber band shooter that may be used to launch planes .it was basically a sprocket on a wood gun like stock and the wound rubber bands kept tension until the trigger was pulled.

  • *Plane crashes on deck* QUICK CALL THE FIRE MICE

  • I can Land a t-28 on it.......or try.

    Its Nice Good job,

  • Just like what The0police9 said, use styrofoam planes. I think its a good idea to start with styro-helicopters then to a slow styro-plane. Bring it to a large open field and practice touch-and-goes then to landing. IM NOT SAYING IM AN EXPERT i dont even have a carrier like u do. I am truly jealous of u but happy for u 2. OH! and can u PLEASE mount some p.o.v. cams on the carrier that would be AWSHUM!!! :) x

  • will it blend? that is the question

  • air pneumatic cats

  • you said ur not brave enough to land an aircraft on the carrier while it float's right?. well u can use a styrofoam plane put a light glider to it and practice well in that long carrier u can launch 5 styro planes rapidly cause it is countering air so it fly so slow

  • Like the real thing, each Cat Launch may need to be calibrated to the aircraft being launched, lest ye rip off its nose! I think it would be easier (and perhaps more clever) to trick the eye. Have something on deck that holds the aircraft in place; ramp up the power on the airplane, then hit a servo that releases the airplane! Full steam ahead on the carrier, of course!

  • you need an arresting cable if you want to land a plane successfully

  • @TheShaneedmonds Then you have to build remote tailhooks into the planes, rig an emergency barricade to deploy in case of plane failure. Nice in theory, but for an RC, is it practical?

  • next project: airborne aircraft carrier... O_O

  • can you ride on it!? dear god man!

  • @hoodstarx1 Of course he can. It doubles as his fishing boat.

  • Whoever disliked is an idiot this is amazing keep the work up

  • have cables for the landing

  • 3. The propelled PVC tube (2” x 6’): Leave the aft end open and slide over the stationary PVC tube. Cap the forward end and attach a bungee. On the top of the cap extend a flat stock through the deck and top with a shuttlecock that is wider than the slot and helps guide/support the propelled PVC tube.

  • Suggested Construction for a 4’ catapult:

    1. Cut a slot in the flight deck.

    2. The stationary guidance PVC tube (1 ½” x 8’): Secure the aft end of the tube 12’ from the bow. Use the aft 2’ of the tube to secure and cantilever. The aft end is capped with the pneumatic hose connected… leave the forward end open.

  • How about a PVC tube piston below the flight deck with a bungee cord return. A quick release valve attached to a small air compressor could shoot the PVC piston. Adjusting the PSI would be important to fine tune the optimum pressure/speed. Aligning the forward aircraft wheel could issues also. Maybe small magnets could help with the wheel/shuttlecock alignment. Don’t forget to drive the boat into the wind while launching for added lift.

  • Could you modify a RC plane to land on it (The hook and rope?)

  • I have one word AWESOME!!! My hat is off to you guys If you were in NC and let me watch you launch it I would try to land one of my mini's just to say I tried. Thanks for the vid and keeps us informed when you take vid of it in the water.

  • WOW very nice, sorry but I am a novice in RC, that is beautifull wish you the best with it.

  • Where do I get one and how mutch

  • @FrankyJones009 your an idiot and i do mean IDIOT its homemade and you will have to ask him how much it cost to get the materials but seriosly guy watch the video dont just stare at a paused thing for 3 minuites wacht the video. ... DUMBASSES

  • for the catapult have a motor with a release servo and put tin holes in one side of the winch. also you might need to either put someone in it or have many water proofed cameras and a two-man control board to operate it

  • why didnt you put on the ramp on the front

  • I'm not an engineer, but to reset your catapult you might want to have a motor that "cranks" it back to the fire position that is triggered by the firing of the device. Also, when I was a kid I disassembled a stiletto knife to see how it worked--it was pretty clever..you may find a way to adapt/modify that mechanism--a stiletto automatically moves the knife blade in and out.

  • Is this a SCALE model? Which country built the real thing?

I've never seen anything like it.

  • i want to use it for carp spearing

  • I hope there is a ton of led lighting

  • Can I Launch my airplanes off that? I have some that would be able to launch in that distance. Would be great.

  • Cool

  • have you finshed it

  • wow!!!!

  • I want to build something like this but just for take off and landings at my club flying field. Looks lime a blast! Great job and bonus points for making it fully functional.

  • hydrospring system for the arresting cables...absorb landing energy by fluid displacement and reset the cables spring tension...

I can explain better in email...richard.baydo@yahoo.com

  • @richardbaydo I had a similar idea but yours is better

  • some crossbows i've seen use an electric motor to pull the string back with enough strength to cock the crossbow, maybe you could use something like that

  • y not put a hook system on the plane and landing lines on the deck as would a real aircraft carrier.

  • How's about this, why don't you let me dress up in a Godzilla outfit, and meet me at a lake...

  • Amazing!

  • Looks totally excellent. Just a shame you didn't show us more of it on the water in your trials video - 30 odd seconds is a bit too little.

  • You could have someone ride inside loading the planes to an elevator that rises, planes can have simulated taxi on the deck being pulled along a track. at the catapalt launch, from under neath the deck the connection can be made and reset.

  • Why not just use a high speed motor? That way it can be put in reverse to reset

  • for a catapult.....I would go with a screw roughly the length of the launch strip with a spring either along side or wrapped around. As the screw turns it compresses the spring which has the cradle for the aircrafts wheel. at a certain point- when there is the desired compression- the receiver on the spring automoatically disengages from the screw and remains in the armed position waiting to be released... just a thought

  • no..... put a catipult on it....... a pressurized air might do the trick

  • put a shit on it

  • build it on a pontoon boat then you will be able to stand

  • is it power by nuclear reactor?

  • Holy thats bigger than my boat

  • The only suggestion I have is make a bigger one that you can actually use. Absolutely amazing.

  • lots lots and lots of pov cameras!! i.e. one facing the fantail to land and one in the hanger bay for operation also make everything rc like make an rc tow that can reset the catapult depending on which type you make also when landing try using a landing net like emergency landings on real aircraft carriers would love for this to be complete with 80 some pilots waiting to take off from the bays and operations going on

  • A servo engine with a reverse and a strong rubber band

  • but will it blend???

  • @coolmeking that is the question!

  • You should blow that thing up.

  • thats pretty sweet good job

  • less talking more acting

  • @bubblez012341 ow you derent act

  • Jawdropping o_O

  • And a cable to slow rc plane down instantly

  • Clean out the actual boat that way it has lots of room in hanger then have some one in there actual working the carrier and comunicating

  • omg that is freaking awesome!!!

  • Also, a camera to track the glide path of your planes you're trying to land... that might help w/ landing...

  • you need multiple cameras at various angles to track what's happening on the ship

  • air pumps

  • C02 cannisters?

  • thats awsoeme were do you get these

  • 10 feet wide?

  • oh and ad people to it to make it look real

  • suggestion launch kids off of it =D

  • brushless wont work, need to use a spring loaded system with an electronic actuator. using a compound bow, with a gravity hook would work best. How big a plane are you wanting to launch off of it?

  • Comment removed

  • Catapult, use a brushless car motor with ESC, with a cable running all the way around, connected to the catapult shuttle. Have the motor run a pully and it can be run back and forth pretty easily =). Landings, small planes equipped for FPV =)

  • With no RC plane though : (

  • @funtimez1212 Yes there is. Look at the deck at 0:43 (The T-28)

  • Im going to make a cardboard small one!

  • That is sick as fuckkk

  • keep up the good work

  • first of all guys this is an awesome piece of engineering craft.simply too cool.

i am jus a novice when it comes to rc modelling.

but i would like to suggest tat ur beam width of 10 ft is too big for the carrier of tat size[21ft].

even if u r lookin at a 1:15 scale of a real time carrier a model of 45ft long aprox wud require a beam of only 7 feet.[hms illustrious; say]

btw 1:15 is the scale at which most of ur RC planes tat u r goin to land in the carrier come in.

plzz correct me if i am wrong

  • just thoulgth of something have a rubber band conected to string so it can fire and then wind back just an idea

  • holy shit that is awsome!!

  • make twice as big then we talk

  • i will pay $100000

  • badass!

  • your missing the aresting wires

  • that is one big rc aircraft carrier.......cool!!

  • wow

  • Use a linear motor for the catapult launcher. They're good enough for the US Navy.

  • can an adult actually sit on it with the remote and drive on it without it breaking? if so it would pretty cool.

  • the Use of Magnets may be necessary...

  • this seems to be of your own design? I cannot see any resemblance with a current US carrier?

  • i am 11 and i'm a real fan of rc my only problem is that i've never had one, but i really do enjoy your videos hope one day i can make my fantasy a reality thank you for making me be able to see these stuff (dayon: the bahamas)

  • if yo have not finished it yet you can use an electromagnet to launch it one way and then you reverse the polarity to reverse it

  • Can you use the trolling motor to pump water into some sort of a holding tank to pressurize the catapault. You have an endless supply of water to use when out on a lake. Maybe even a small pump used in campers for sinks? Looks great!!!

  • whoa :P

  • it wood seem that someone can stand on when it is in the water but awesome aircraft carrier p.s. u could land on it in the water just keep it smooth

  • That is...Awesome!!!

  • can a person stand on it when it is in the water

  • Seems like a continuous belt would be the simplest method for a cat, since you're not trying to launch anything real heavy. I'm no electronics expert by any means but I would think it would be relatively easy to time an electric motor to run one cycle twice the length of the belt so that the "shoe" to launch the aircraft always runs back to the start position. Or the length of the belt with a slow reverse back to the start. Maybe? Possibly? At any rate, it's a killer project. Good job.
