They keep talking about "Expelled" eh? Urbanelf, did they talk about "Religulous" at all? hehehe.
And yeah, they really do have nothing but optimism. They have been defeated in every arena, and they know they have nothing. Its funny how the only thing they have is "false hope"..... go figure.
When I was still a student at the Catholic University of Leuven, I remember a lot of American Biola students as well as seminarians from the "American College" partying like there was no tomorrow in a café called "De Wink" (now has a new name). I wouldn't call what they were doing particularly Christian and pretty much the majority of younger seminarians eventually dropped out of the seminary. I think also W.L. Craig attended my alma mater (through Biola?). Wonder if he ever went to that café ;)
I'm not at all surprised by the speech, since "intelligent design" is creationism, with "intelligent agent" replacing Yahweh haphazardly. The persecution complex is pretty painful to listen to. They're creating their own conflict myth...
@violentlygraceful Yes, the persecution. ID has nothing to do with religion, but coincidentally, all of its supporters were crucified or fed to lions.
I hope you post the speech, I'm curious about what he had to say. Thanks for posting this, I doubt it wil bring a lot of views, but I found it interesting anyway.
Yes, I found this interesting, especially the last part which links, once again, intelligent design to religion. You have some big cahoonas to go to that luncheon as well :)
These are the kind of videos I like, where there aren't any commercials or attempts to parley things into a Wal-Mart of YouTube channels like the League of Justice, or whatever they call themselves.
I'm not surprised to hear someone on the intelligent design side use the same rhetoric as YECs. Since it's a 'world view' issue it makes it easier to cast evolution as a religious opponent. The concern certainly isn't with science as you saw first hand.
@LJonYT Even though I wasn't surprised, it was still weird to hear them in a more relaxed environment when they weren't trying to separate their science from their religion.
How much more lame can your get than this?
Darwinists are soooo stupid, they just can't help shooting themselves in the head in every video they produce.
A "Intelligent Design luncheon " ?!?! is his source??!?! ROTFLMAO
Get a life for petes sake.

@lordsong7 It's not clear what you are trying to communicate. Where did I shoot myself? How is my source funny?

You're a likable dude, "elf."
And you're a SoCal? Likewise ;-)
I'm an anti-evo Bible Thumper...but I've only made one vid on the subject.
I just don't find the disagreements intriguing anymore.
That said, I still wish you could have had your questions answered.

Ayn Rand Objectivists use the term "world view" all the time too. Talk to Dhorpatan.

Haha I missed this when you first put it out, but it was pretty damn entertaining.

You're the man for putting these in the right order for YouTube's braindead subscription feature.

One thing.. They are not scientists. That would assume that intelligent design is science.

Did they all know you were an Atheist ? I did not understad that part.
itsasin1969 1 year ago
@itsasin1969 I told them right up front when I sat down at my table that I was an atheist. There were a few penetrating gazes.

Wait... So this Phillip E. Johnson award is so cheap that just not being an atheist warrants winning it?

did this cost you money to go to ?

@lukeism2 Yeah, but it wasn't much. Maybe $10-$15, probably wasn't much of a profit making event.

@PragmaticLiving I would say a three(3) on a scale of one to ten. I didn't get to see my anti-heros, but I got a weird story out of it.

@urbanelf I listened to the entire thing. I must say I wasn't surprised
