  • not exactly street running...street running is when the tracks are built in to the street and the train goes super slow and the houses and scenery are very close to the tracks...also that unit looks somewhat like a RF&P unit...nice vid and also thats where they filmed unstoppable! :D

  • Nice sounding Prime 920 horn on that locomotive

  • Such beautiful scenery <3

  • Nice!

Always pan around and show the train approaching the next grade crossing just in case some idiot gets himself hit.

Not "street running" when track and ballast is above pavement.

Can you video Lewistown street running?

  • one of those horns has a weird upward inflection when released

  • Very interesting video! I should add, however, that I am fond of this matter :-)

Added to my "street running trains" playlist and thumbs up!

    Bests.

  • I have lived in central Illinois my whole life and by railroad tracks most of the time and i have never heard of street runnig. Seems pretty dumb and dangerous to have trains going down main street. We don't have that crap in illinois our tracks are perpendicular. Pretty big word from and illinois redneck.

  • @rdy2die85 We have street running in Indiana all over the place. Warsaw, Elwood, New Albany, to name a few. Kokomo and Noblesville have street trackage but its not active that much anymore.

  • The difference here is that the track is above street level, it's like it's own median

  • It's just too bad the caboose is a thing of the past.

  • Is it still street running if the rails arn't in the street?

  • Love the North Shore system. I want to work on them. I remember the paint on those. Now they are in a READING beeline paint. I got a video of 5514 going through Jersey Shore, PA. The units also have K3LAs on them now.

  • Nice, my favorite horn. I thought the metro north was the only railroad that uses these horns.

  • It would suck to live on that road.

  • Some SEPTA trains have the same exact tone and just as good horn. Just quieter because alot of the idiots in the Philly suburbs were like "oh the trains are too loud"

  • @ThaExpress2609 NO THEIR NOT IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their Fucktards, Stupid Shit-heads, Selfish Pricks, and the list goes on and on and..... did i make you think i was defending those pricks for a second???? LOL ;-D

  • @MilwaukeeSDman Ya Kiddin me? lol. No one likes them, I'd put an M7 from LIRR or one of these lovely GP35 need to wake em up with those great Leslies.

  • @ThaExpress2609 you grew up in brooklyn you havent lived near a LIRR crossing i bet for the past 16 years!!! I have I first lived within ear shot of stewart AVE crossing then moved to Melville within earshot of the Little ast neck crossing That shits fuckin torture!!! When the freights come through then that shits awsome!!!!!

  • awesome video

  • I Thought Street Running Tracks Were Always Built In The Ground, But I Guess Not.

    Awesome Vid!

  • @NARSConductor I don't know if this is consider street running. In a Pentraxx video I have they call it Honorable Mention street running. i think it is just as good.

  • Nice loco. Athearn should make this unit in HO Scale.

  • @CN413Fox They do!A GP35.I used to have a few back in '78.

  • Nice horn. What kind is it?

  • Its a Leslie RS-2M.

  • Is this the horn that was on the old Santa Fe GP20s?

  • I HEART LHF!

  • this line still used?

  • daily for the paper mill located right up the line from this video.

  • yeah

  • Yep, by the Nittany and Bald Eagle Railroad!!!

  • I live 200 feet from their line and last week I saw their longest train ever--over 50 cars, perhaps 60. This was built courtesy of Conrail giveaways and taxpayer funded grants but it has done well in recent years

  • NBER's trackage runs from Tyrone, PA - Milesburg, PA, MIlesburg, PA - Lock Haven, PA, and Milesburg, PA - Pleasant Gap, PA. The NS interchanges is in Tyrone and Lock Haven.

  • Awsome video! How do ya do it? seems like your everywhere. Does NBER run threw Lewistown? I see track as I go to the mountain on rt322 through lewistown.

  • That's the Norfolk Southern ex-PRR main Pittsburgh Line. Nittany and Bald Eagle, in this particular stretch, runs between Tyrone, PA and Milesburg, PA, the track continues from there as well on two other branches. This particular local runs from Bellefonte to Tyrone to NS and back.

  • Thanks alot for the info! Anyone have info Juniatta Valley RR ? Thank you!

  • awesome video 5***** great job

  • Kool vid.

How many train run on the NBER a day?

  • The NBER BT local (this train) runs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, southbound generally in the mornings and northbound generally around noon. NS 536 and 537 PPLX Strawberry Ridge coal trains also use the line at any given time of the day on any given day. I have caught some, I'll have to post them.

  • @o00o00ozy Do you know all the locals North Shore, Lyco, NBER, have?

  • getting on the point to o00o00ozy it's really hard to tell how many trains run on NBER, I hear them throughout the days, cuz I live right near their line. I have some vids of the railroad if you want to see.

  • thankz

  • Awesome video! 5*
