Wrong, the Tu-144 concept was made public on 1962...by that time the consortium between aerospatiale and BAC wasn´t even an idea.

@Funfisique True. Both planned at this time to build their own planes. France the Super-Caravelle and UK the Bristol 223. Both were so similar in design and size and with development costs expected to be so much that a consortium was logical. Both these designs had been made public before the Tu-144

This is cool. I have never seen CCCP-68001 on the flight line with the other TU-144s. Why did it have to be completely erased? It was a prototype after all.

P.S At the start of this film '9:38' you can see the pilot Kozlov who sadly lost his life at the Paris airshow 1973. He was commended for his excellent displays flying the TU 144 by Western Pilots including André Turcat, the first pilot to fly Concorde, who was said to be equally impressed by the TU 144's performance.
