VPW 2 and WWF No Mercy are two of the best N64 video games I had ever played.

These games were the most fun wrestling games I have ever played; before or since. Smackdown vs Raw STILL, after 10 YEARS...(no 11 -.-) can't match the fluid controls and animations of this series.

@AllieRX87 I didnt even know about Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy, I thought the 2 WCW games were the only ones like that, I knew about the JP version though. Also I dont know if you played them but the Def Jam games use the same exact fighting system. The first was Def Jam Vendetta, which played by wrestling rules, then Def Jam Fight for NY which was street fighting but played the same. There was another one call DJ. Icons which alot of people said sucked, so i dont know about that one.

@DreamKing2 World Tour, Revenge, Wrestlemania 2000, No Mercy, Def Jam Vendetta and Fight for NY all use the same engine. Def Jam Icon was made by a different company. AKI also did the Kinnikuman/Ultimate Muscle games on the GameCube and PS2.

Oh yes, which is why THQ switched to AKI to develop the two WCW games on the N64.

The best thing about AKI (now "Syn sophia") was their primary focus was gameplay and focused secondarily on graphics unlike the other game developers out there like jakks pacific. Syn sophia displays this very well in Def Jam series as well.

VPW 2 is still the best wrestling game ever.

But spare a though for KOC II & Firepro. They're more simmy and complicated in terms of gameplay than this lot, but they still have a ton of depth that you don't often find anymore outside the N64 games.

I mean WCW/NWO Revenge had a huge roster (plus the AJPW guys under the new outfits as DWA & EWF etc).

One thing I like better about the AKI wrestling series more than the Smackdown series is how well the wrestlers sell the moves. I hate it in new Smackdown how I would do a high risk move over the top rope and hit my opponent but it does this stupid animation while still standing up and I'm on the ground. In the AKI games, your opponent will simply fall with you.

OOOHHHH! You mean WRESTLING is fake. That IS true for the most part, but there are exceptions such as accidents. Also, I was once a huge fan of wrestling, but it was not because I thought it was real at that time (I always thought it was fake ever since I became a preteen). It's because I found it entertaining, and more entertaining than it is now. If people hate wrestling all because it's fake, then they must despise martial arts and action movies because they're not really fighting.
