have you tried using coir products?? growbags, coco peat or husk chips??? All coir products are environmentally friendly/sustainable.....

its not plastic sheeting its breathable semi-permeable cloth like stuff, so air can move around more, and the greenhouse effect still works

as long as it's tight rain usually beads off, small amounts drip and mist in every once in a while, but thats not a problem
