Ive got a 350 MB avi file in 360p and id like to make it 720p but probably in flv or something to compress it. I've tried movie maker, but it says that the estimated video file size is 2.8 GB, so it's not compressing it, its making it bigger (which seems obvious because im going from 360p to 720p), but is there a way to convert a 360p avi file into a 720p file but lower the file size?

Thanks!! It worked perfectly, compressed a 69 MB down to 1.88!! It emailed through like a regular picture and came out actually pretty clear at the other end. I thought it would be too grainy since I had compressed it so small, but it worked great!

It doesn't give you the option of controlling how much quality of the video and/or sound will turn out after compression, or does it not affect it? Does this program allow you to add additional video's and make it into one? I'll give this a try.

I tried this with Windows Live Movie maker, it worked. Then I wanted to upload it to You Tube, when it finished it was real bad quality. Does anyone have any advice to solve this problem? Or I upload a small size video, only 1 minute long and it takes 3 hours. Either it fails or it takes too long.

@impersonator280 - All you have to do is download Windows Movie Maker 2.6. That should work for Windows 7 and Vista users. If I'm not mistaken, you have Windows LIVE Movie Maker, right? That won't do this function, but WMM 2.6 will.

Here's the problem. I need to compress my avi to put it on WMM without it crashing. Here's the solution in the video. Put it on WMM and publish as a wmv. This is like what happened in Freeman's Mind. There's only one solution now. Nero.
