  • Sadly, The Good Lord Wasn't Willin' . . .

  • I remember Hank well, his music will live on forever. I was 6 years old when Jimmie Rodgers passed away, and you have my age.

  • by fastfocustv......thanks for the upload...........can't go wrong with Hank

  • Quess The Good Lord Wasn't Willin'!!! . . . They say the Good die young . . .

  • I'm 60 years old . . . when I was a youngster . . . we just called it MUSIC!!!

. . . and, we loved tons of His works . . . didn't have Country and Western back then, and, me tihinks u know what I mean!!! . . . R.I.P. HANK!!! thx for the Music!!!

  • How old are you guys talking about "Puff Daddy"? He hasn't been called that in a decade.

I do dig Hank Williams though. Great singer and even better writer.

  • hank :( i wish you were here with us

  • I remember when the first Hank Williams song came on the radio in 1948, the song was Move it on Over. I have enjoyed Hank Williams from then on.

  • Words can't describe the effect Hank had on not only country music, but those that hear him sing it. There'll never be another one like him. Thanks for a job well done at putting this together.

  • hank rules

  • His words are poetry and the music creates such a nostalgic feeling for me. Songs such as "I'm So Lonesome I could Cry" make me long for a simpler time when I was younger. I recall driving those old farm roads on warm summer nights back in Kansas and Oklahoma and one of Hank's songs would come on the radio creating the perfect backdrop for my thoughts.

  • We Miss You!

  • I lubs me this skinny white boy.

  • hanks music will out live us all... thats what kinda star HE was

  • Very well done, thank you!

  • the first song I ever heard by Hank Williams in 1950 was "Setting the woods on fire" which blew my mind,I think now I have every recording he ever made(sixty years later) what bugs me is,what he could have wrote if he did not die at such an early age, what have we missed!

  • my hope is that someday well long in the future cuz im 14 but when i die i hope to meet hank it will make all my everything like hes i just wish i could of met him and hope to do

  • Often imatated but never duplicated. RIP Hank Sr.

  • well, im no family member of the Williams family but i believe that i can relate to hank just the same. Hell it's probably not a very healthy lifestyle but i feel your blues hank, hope one day i get to shake your hand Mr.

  • The UNDISPUTED KING of Country Music...and let someone challenge that...NOT in this day...too much CRAP on Country radio now.

  • @manny5442 finally, someone understands me!

  • If You Don't Like Hank Williams "I dig Bobby Dylan and I dig Johnny Cash And I think Waylon Jennings is a table thumpin' smash And hearin' Joni Mitchell feels as good as smokin' grass And if you don't like Hank Williams, honey, you can kiss my ass Chorus: 'Cause I think what they've done is well worth doin' And they're doin' it the best way that they can You're the only one that you are screwin' When you put down what you don't understand ... " Kristofferson Kris Lyrics
  • thats-the-way-to-go--i-love-hnk-williams-s-r-there-will-never-be-another-hank-

  • HANK paved the road,,for bunches,,n,,bunches..

  • The first Man of Country Music. If you can't appreciate this...then i guess search puff daddy or something. This is Music.

  • Hank sr. flames p diddy even though he dug out j lo

  • @tlcarroll i BET EVEN PUFF DADDY-if he Is a true musician...knows about hank.

  • is there a way to take music FROM a tape and stick it on a computer??? cuz if ya buy a cd it's made to sound better but it ain't, i think the old tapes sound so much better i'd take those over any new cd,

  • What kind of tape...reel to reel, 8track, or cassette. I'm not sure, but if the tape player has an Audio out jack, you may be able to use a patch cord from the Audio out to the Audio in (on the computer), and it might work. You may have to get an adapter that will fit the Audio in though.

  • Simply the best, and that´s it.

Pardon me but do you have any doubt??

  • No, i don't have :D

  • Wow, listen to those lyrics. the moon just went behind clouds to hide its face and cry. The silence of a falling star lights up a purple sky..

Think about it, what would music sound like today if Hank Williams, Buddy Holly, Elvis, John Lennon, Stevie Ray Vaughan, were still alive?

  • If any of these great artists would have lived longer, music would be totally different today.

  • how did hank die?

  • car crash, he knew he would die soon and he sung about that in his songs.

  • I was wrong in my previous post. Official cause of Hank's death was heart failure. That said, he was alleged to have injected morphine before he departed for the show.

  • thanks for the info. Perhaps I didnt' read the back of my LP well enough. I have a double best of LP.

  • You're welcome. I'm just sorting through all me tapes and albums at the moment. Got a record player for christmas and Hank sounds even better with the hiss-and-click of a needle and LP.

  • No. He died of drug overdose. He was found dead in the back of his car en route to a show.

  • When it was all said & done, Hank Williams was the most prolific singer/songwriter of the millinium.

  • fastfocustv SUCKS!

  • i wanna see this in full, does anyone know where i can see this all the way through? i'm writing a movie script about Hank and this would really help thanks :)

  • HELL YEAH, HANK IS THE BEST!

  • did james hand sing when you stopped loving me, did i?

  • Check out JAMES HAND, songwriter/singer for the nearest thing to Hank. Promise.

  • he is good songwriter and singer too,but

    hank was a far better.

  • Who the HELL is Garth Brooks and what did he do to even be mentioned in the same breath as Hank Williams?

  • I'm with you buddy. Even here in li'l ole England. I think Garth Brooks is a pop singer in a cowboy hat.

  • No one in Nashville can be compared to Hank Sr, there will never be anyone like him, the words he wrote were truly like a poet, nothing like today's music. RIP Hank, you are missed !!! Thanks for sharing.

  • I have 5 CDs of Hanks, love listening to them. My dear departed dad loved to listen to Hank - brought Jesus to him I guess...

    R.I.P. Dad and Hank

  • Number one Country singer/song writer of all time ....PERIOD

  • Garth Brooks, get outta Hanks throne. This is the first country outlaw.

  • why would you even name garth in a country music comparison....garth has fireworks slams guitars together to get attention...g. strait..walks out in creased wrangler shirt/pants an a cowboy hat and just sings...he doesnt' need a show...john wayne died...george strait is the last real cowboy

  • How the hell is Garth Brooks an Outlaw? If anyone's got Hank's throne (and rightfully so) it's musicians like his Grandson. Not someone from the "establishment" in Nashville.

  • Hell yeah to that brother.

  • i'm his no.1 fan from Estonia.he was the country singer of all time god bless you

hank in the heaven.someday we meet.you

were the greatest songwriter on the 20th

About 1950 Smoot theater I believe. He sang Calling you. I was about 8 yo

  • I love Hanks music....Someone ask me what is my favorite Hank Williams song. I told them it depend on the mood Im in. Hank had some good Honky Tonk Blues and some good upbeat tunes as well,Its hard to choose just one when there are so many great ones to choose from.

  • i might be young to be a fan. but when i was 11 the first time i ever heard Hank i feel in love with his music. I never have heard a Hank Williams song that i have not liked.

  • Mansion On The Hill is one of the greatest country songs ever written. Of cource, there is no bad Hank Williams song. I was 10 yrs old and playing a board game in my cousins kitchen in Long Branch Ontario on New Years day when I heard on a news broacast that hank had died. May God bless him.

  • I'm 62. I've loved his music since I was 8. sometimes, especially after a couple of drinks, I feel the need to sit at my computer and just write a few lines from any of his songs. So beautiful ! Such simple poetry ! It stil makes me cry, and I've been listening for over 50 years.I've got a Gibson accoustic guitar, my happiest times are when singing and playing his songs out loud, bugger everyone else.

  • Amen Sammy!

  • I'm 62. I've loved his songs since I was 8. Sometimes, especially after a few drinks, I just sit at my computer and feel the urge to write the lines from any of his songs. Genius ! Poetry ! So simple, so beautiful.

  • Just the few opportunities to see Hank perform on the video tells you what a great stage presence he had.

It's also nice to see Bob McNett, one of the original Drifting Cowboys. My wife is his daughter.

  • I grew up with country music. Jim Reeves, Hank Williams and more.

Flashback to my childhood !! My mom and dead played this music and I loved it and still do. My parents ain't livin' anymore, but when Ihear country my thoughts go out to them.

    thanx from Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Great vid, great music, great singer/writer.

  • RIP Hank Williams

  • this is the best video on youtube!

  • If you are a real Hank fan i highly suggest you get the entire movie off of Netflix.

  • i cant help it if im still in love with old country music

  • Excellent! No Country Music legend can touch his work. Hank Sr. is timeless. Thank you for posting this video.

  • Hank left when he said all he had to say...I don't know of anyone, musically, who could match he writing ability. period.

  • Amazing. Absolutely amazing. Hank is king. A legend. Live on

  • Hank

  • my god! what has happend to country music? hank was as country as it gets.

  • In Hank Sr's time the record company was like the postman-they delivered the mail, more or less. Hank wrote the letters. Many come close, but none surpass.

  • theres somethin when i hear Hanks songs that hit me inside. I love the music of all 3 hanks. But Hank Sr.... he's one of those 1 time deals. There will never be another Hank Sr. ...

  • a native american cowboy is one powerful thang!

  • He wrote the greatest lyrics. No musician will ever write better lyrics than Hank Williams. He knew how to write a song and he knew how to sing it too.

  • Hank was not allowed to record anything about drinking because of his reputation about drinking. Big Bill Lister on the other hand recorded several beer drinking songs including "Tear in My Beer". Bill told me this personally when I visited him in the fall of 2001. He did record "My Buckets Got a Hole in It. It has a line about I can't buy no beer.

  • Rest in Peace, Hank. You were the best when you were alive, and you're still the best today.

  • Awesome to see Shelton Hank Williams III

  • It's just Shelton Hank Williams. There is no III unless he's referred to as Hank Williams.

  • Whatever man lol it's just good to see his opinion us valued

  • Hank Williams didn't have any hit songs about drinking. The only song that Hank wrote AND released as a studio single that included a direct mention of alcohol was the Luke the Drifter song "Just Waitin." "Tear In My Beer" was written for Big Bill Lister and the only recording of it by Hank was a demo for Bill so that he know how to sing it.

  • While I agree those were the few songs directly about alcohol. There were a lot of songs which were based on his drinking. Lost Highway and I'm so Lonesome I could Cry. Hank songwriting was the best of his time and maybe the best every outside of Woodie Guthrie, Bob Dylan, or the Beatles.

  • Leon Payne wrote Lost Highway. He also wrote "They'll Never Take Her Love From Me".

  • Jimmie Rodgers was probably even bigger than Hank (but there weren't any "hillbilly" charts back then).

  • Bigger, not better.

Hank is to Country Music as Dale Earnhardt is to NASCAR.

  • "Bigger, not better." I agree, Hank's music was even better than Jimmie's. Hank didn't invent honky-tonk (Al Dexter and Ernest Tubb were great and popular and helped get it going), but he's probably influenced more good honest honky-tonk/regular-C&W artists than anyone else has, period. Jimmie was huge on influencing other '30s artists, though, even in Africa they bought Jimmie Rodgers records in the '30s, he really was sort of the father of C&W music, years before Hank.
