  • GTR perfect for this test

  • skyline, end of

  • We all know the best drifting car is a 10-20 year old Japanese sports car with a turbo that could eat small children attached to the engine.

  • lotus its totally british i mean everyone that has a lotus plays at golf thats why its british

  • S15

  • Where were the AMG cars?!?

  • @BollocksTube21 I agree AMG makes some of the best drifting cars in the world like the C63 and the CLK63.

  • @BollocksTube21 where's RX7 veilside , silvia and all those japanese

  • I liked the cars he chose, but I'm surprised he didn't take anything Japanese, especially Nissan. I mean the lotus is Japanese, but it isn't known as a drifter. I'm surprised he didn't drive a 350z or if they were out when he made this video a 370z

  • @baseballmanrg Bias aside, they wouldn't do it in a Z, because they're notorious for their understeer. You really have to push to get them to oversteer, and by that point, you're closer to spinning out than you really want to be, ever. All the weight in a Z is ahead of the front crossmember, which is good for rear tire spin, but it keeps the car running straight with the wheels at full lock. Wonderful cars, Z's, but terrible drifters in my experience.

  • @baseballmanrg true what he said, Z cars are not known for drifting, in fact you have to spend more money on (most) Jap cars because even though their suspensions/chassis are superb their stock engine isnt powerful enough to hold the slide and TG as we know, only test stock cars

And yes, the 370 didnt exist yet when this was made...

  • @baseballmanrg Lotus isn't Japanese, only the engine is sourced from Toyota. Lotus started out as an English company, but it is now owned by Proton, which is Malaysian. It is weird, however, that since drifting got its start in Japan with cheap, modified cars, that most of the cars he tested were expensive sports cars and supercars from almost everywhere but Japan.

  • @baseballmanrg lotus is British not Japanese

  • @reecetoby30 jajajja exactly is british ........and he thinks its japonese.........

  • @baseballmanrg actually lotus is british

  • @baseballmanrg Dude Lotus isn't Japanese ... Even though it is owned by Proton which is Malaysian it was Started Founded all those words by a British dude and man was the guy a Genius ... Oh yeah Lotus was owned by GM before Proton purchased it ...

  • @boygenius53 kk thx

  • Oh god, as a former hockey player, I cringed when he was walking on pavement in those skates, it completely kills the blades.

  • "FLIPPERS! THERE THE FUTURE!" Lol

  • was this one of the top gear episodes or specials or what?

  • The stig looks badass in wellingtons

  • Best car for drifting is old Porsche 944 turbo. Period.

  • RX-8

  • Lol the boots the Stig wore would have no effect on anyone's driving ability, they're just normal boots, fruity but yet still normal

  • what is the song at 0:40 ?????

  • "So now, lets see how the stig gets on... in the HOLDEN"!!!

  • I watched over 15 minutes of video to find out it was hard to powerslide a car in ice skates? God I fucking love Jeremy Clarkson

  • lmao at this last part of the duel hahaha

  • @alessioboscolo men some guys are lucky bastards like clarkson driving the best cars in the world travelling around the world and talking too much and get paid for it.what do i have to do for it to get a job like this??????????

blowing the cock from the GM of the BBC oh no i am not gay it wouldnt work.

  • its the vxr

  • 3:37 XD

  • it's the vauxall

  • Does anybody know what is the song which starts at 0:40 and ends at 1:34 ?

    It is just fantastic !

  • Because that's just a Pontiac g8... Right?

  • @Tjspycorp holden is an australian compony that gm bought, the cars are desinged and built in australia even the pontiac g8 is built in australia it's based of the ve commadore also the camaro was designed and built by holden it uses a shorter chassie based of the ve commadore. just because it's owned by gm dose'nt make it american because ford owns jag but jags are not american and lambo is owned by audi but it's still not german

  • @nachospole1 holdens engines and transmissions are american jags electrical systems and motors are american and lambos motors are german and ford sole off jag's a few years ago

  • @dankebuddha you will find that when holden get the chev engines they actually tinker with them to get more performance from them and who cares if the motors are american koenigsegg use merc engines but you would'nt call the german

  • @nachospole1 i would same goes for Paganini and it's easy to change some computer tuning to get hp holden is allowed to cause your emission laws aren't as tough as ours and out cars are detuned to lower hp ratings to make the insurance cheaper

  • @dankebuddha if you reduce hp so insurance is cheaper that defeats the purpose of the car also an engine is usless with out a great chassie, susspension, breaks and more and thats what holden dose they get a big v8 engine and put it in their chassie and it goes awesome so i would not call the clubsport american if thats what your trying to say

  • @nachospole1 the hp detuning is easy to fix with a simple intake and exhaust and computer reflash

  • @dankebuddha yeah but hsv adds supercharges to some modles so they take a good motor that can be tunned and they tune it and put it in a great chassie with great breaks and suspension all desinged by holden, hsv obviously they outsource parts when it comes to breaks and stuff but they make the choice to use it.

  • @nachospole1 That engine is actually detuned the Corvette makes 638HP with it

  • @M3TurboE46 getting more performance dose'nt mean increasing the hp i mean they get more performance from the engine to work with their car so they change engine mappings and tinker with tourque and all that kind of stuff to improve the engines drivability for the job at hand because more hp is not always better thoungh in saying that i saw a guy with a holden ute putting out over 1000 bhp man that car was tally great if you want to got drifting.

  • @nachospole1 It run's low 11's from the factory....No holden is doing that

  • @M3TurboE46 the holden is a four door sedan, corvette is a 2 door supercar so ofcourse it's not going to have the same performance out of the factory.

  • @nachospole1 No shit buddy stop making stupid false claims like "when holden get the chev engines they actually tinker with them to get more performance from them" because that's a pile of bull shit.

  • @M3TurboE46 performance is relative to the job you wanker they get more performance out of the engine to suit the holden, performance is not just power it's everything like driveability.

  • @nachospole1 Holden get's detuned engines from GM you dumb fuck stop lying the shit is getting deep

  • @M3TurboE46 the holden in this vid is a clubsport which is a comadore that gets sent to hsv who are a tunning company like amg is to merc and they improve the performance of this car including engine performance and you don't have to increase hp to improve engine performance god how do you not understand that.

  • @M3TurboE46 Wow you're 24? You sound like a 12 y/o codfag.

  • @M3TurboE46 Cadillac CTSV motor...

  • @maverick223 Which is a de-tuned corvette engine

  • @maverick223 Wrong. Walkinshaw is an aftermarket company, and they put a custom supercharger on it.

  • Vauxhall is an off-brand of GM(chevy) so technically it's not Australian... Right?

  • @Tjspycorp Technically you're a fuckhead. Do some research child.

  • V8 Aussie Muscle ftw

  • @gac18 Japan made drifting what it is today, classically those cars have been their weapons of choice.

  • @italiangelding well you cant powerslide your ferraris either ^^

  • Nice conclusion

  • 1:30 it didnt miss it, what is he talking about

  • Haha awesome vid. But of course the Front engine rwd car is going to be the best for it. My only thing is why the hell did they get the M3 with paddles and not a normal gear box with a clutch? I think it would have done better had it been

  • In part one he stated that he was looking for: front engined, rear drive, with a limited slip diff, and, key, not too much rear grip.

    A pick up truck.

And no, I'm talking about a full size duallie diesel work truck - Dodge Dakota R/T.

Like the Jag in Pt 2, my R/T loves getting sideways and enjoys itself immensely. In fact, when it's wet out, you actually have to take care not to let it (as it will try on it's own almost all the time).

  • @usquanigo You've got to be kidding. A pickup? A LOLCHRYSLER pickup at that?? Try doing some serious drifting in a pickup and the paramedics will be scraping bits of you off the windshield and track. If you wanna drift, get a RX7, RX8, XKR or 240SX.

  • @mrsinistertoyou On a totally casual and non-serious yet related note; Remember the Truck Challenge when they had to attempt drifting their Trucks? =p

  • @mrsinistertoyou You have just proven that you are a fanboi with no knowledge at all. Did that post make you feel special for a while? Did it last for very long? Or did you have to find someone else to post trolling statements with ZERO facts or knowledge like the one you did here? Does it impress your facebook crew or WoW buddies?

Perhaps someday you may learn something, but I won't be holding my breath - I'll be too busy out living a real life. ;)

  • @mrsinistertoyou what about supra's,200sx,r34,r33,r32?

  • @usquanigo I have the same problem in my caprice in the rain.

  • i could eat that apple :(

  • What about M6's v10

  • Clarkson should have tried the brabus e-class v12 with 1200nm torque and 800bhp

  • I'm suprised Clarkson didn't try other big V8, like the Benz C63, a corvette or a Ford Gt, which are cars he generally likes because they're so powerfull and drift easily....

  • @charles4hl

Clarkson can't admit the GT is good at everything, he had a hard enough time admitting he bought one

  • In all seriousness, the VXR8 was the best drifting car there, one of the best stock drifters overall. I'm surprised the M3 and Evora didn't do that good here.

  • who won?? xD

  • 4:16 just a few CMs

  • they should try mitsubishi lancer evolution x, it's one of my favourite car!

  • @TheCrazy135 its 4wd x)

  • LITERALLY

  • s14 and ae86 are the definitive drift cars.

  • @AbstractReaIity exactly, how can you have a drift competition without the nation who invented it; japan

  • @jayrol93

cause this is Jeremy Clarkson and if its not european its "rubbish"

  • @HoleToHeaven The Vauxhall is Australian, by the way.

  • @AbstractReaIity plus the miata i'd say

  • @AbstractReaIity they're weight distribution makes them the easiest drift cars, with a bit of tuning you cn become a pro lol

  • @AbstractReaIity RX-7, Supra, R34?

  • Hsv ftw

  • Holdens FTW

  • 2:30 LOL!!!!

  • he should have tried the mazda rx8

  • @alessandro144

    wtf? man?

    mazda rx8 sucks!

    it cant drift

  • @dodgeviperstr Then do professional drivers use the RX8 to compete in Formula Drift. Rotary is where it's at when it comes to drifting. The FD RX7 is one of the best factory drift cars ever made.

  • @inthemakingdk im a big fan of the rx7 and the rotary but i think you will find that most cars in formula drift are running v8's, even Di's s13 has a v8.

  • ice skates, flippers and Wellingtons LOL

  • Wellingtons XD

  • hey wtf on top gear against BMW MERC and AUDI the stig was able to do it >.>

  • What's the song at 0:40 ???
