i found this RAT in my house and it cut up this paper and it layed around 7-12 babys and this is not the tipe u keep as pets its the ones who live in peoples houses and it lived in my drow and there mum died i dont no how i think it got stuck in rat gloo my mum puts around the house and i had to look after them till they were big and i let them free in the park around the corner and i still see some of them running around the park some times what should i do if i see eny more? kill them? or . .
My rat appears to be pregnant, and acts like a pregnant rat, but I didn't see 'the act', so I don't know. I'm just keeping on watch for the next few days [I've only had her two weeks....]
just wondering what bedding did you use when she was nesting and was it good for her to give birth in.
aslo could you give me any tips. i am not breeding now but i hope to in the future and would like to know, what do you think i will need, i have read up alot but it is better from people with first hand experiances. thanks :D
my rat nests like that it haz been 3 days . she has been licking her nipples and her private part also for 3 days and i adopted her when she was 6 weeks old . can she be pregnat!
help! ok, so my friend got a male rat and i have a female, our rats spent the night together. now, my rat is not that fat and it has been three weeks, but you can see her nipples, do u think shes pregnant? thanks a bunch!
can another female be in the same cage as the mother is giving birth? and is there a higher risk of preg complications if the mother is only 7 weeks old?
They can, but there is a chance they will fight over the babies, or stress the mother out to the point where she destroys them. I find it is better just to leave the mom in her own cage. With a very young mother there definitely is a higher chance of complications, but likely her litter will be small and she should be able to handle it all right. Rats shouldn't be bred until 4 months old, but unfortunately many pet stores keep both sexes together and they get pregnant way too early =(
how do rats act when they are pregnant?

At 6 weeks, it's possible if she was not separated from her brothers in time.

I remember when my little girl was pregnant, she was such a good mummy and her cage mate (another girl) was a wonderful little helper as well.
