When they actually built the thing, they went with more of a Greek Revival style, and the attraction became a ride rather than a walk-through.

awesome work, you are doing an amazing thing in blender, it would take alot of guts to take on a project this huge, your model has such awesome detail, I was just wondering how many verticals is the whole project, I would expect it to easily be several million.
if you think about it when you make ghost storys about a ride it feels rediculous becaus youre makeing storys about a ride based on old and industreal tecneqes with a show building. in other words it is what it is youre saying a machanicle bride is waiting fore a pepers ghost host to come and love her? the place is haunted, youre just a visitor it dosnt matter what the story is it is what it is a HAUNTED MANSSION.=)
he was actualy useing the manssion fore his wedding from his relitive and he found his wife in the atic with some other guy and killed him with that old sord in the attic thats the reoson fore the emeadeatly removed hat box ghost and threw his love out the window THE RING and killed himself in the attic tower and his mortal wife was waiting for him but his spirit wasnt able to materealize so she wait in the ballroom attic and grew old over the years and is now a ghost gone mad.

it looks as if the tower wuld be the stretching room fore the hanging ghost host it may have been easyer to make him installed because its alot higher they probably coverd up the viewing porch on top and place the hanging guy there just a theory.
Do we know how far this concept got before the alternative was formed? Blue Sky, or a development piece?
I have to admit that I'm much more a fan of the spooky exterior type haunted mansions. The paris one, sat up up on that hill, surrounded by a graveyard. It's just the perfect setting.
There's too much of a scene jump and contrast thing going on when you walk through an upkept house and step into a weathered and haunted interior. I'd have liked to see them use this facade back in the day
ok but the program looked cheap bad menue to and slowed my computer down. verry cool youre getting into that WDI im doing universal as a collage job but when I get out I hope to build theme parks that bring old rides back and my father used to be in the ride buisness but now his friend is makeing a wonka park due to open 2012!=D

Brilliant work! You really should deliver this to the Imagineering folks in Glendale to see what they think. Adding this into one of the parks (maybe Hong Kong) as an actual walk-through attraction might be reasonable! Outstanding job.

That is an awesome project. That Haunted Mansion looked very cool from the illustrations, and you putting it into 3D made it even more cooler.
It looks like (as others have said) there could have been a Stretching Room inside what appears to be a Light House on the corner.
If that is a light hourse it follows the true DLR Haunted Mansion story very well, seeing how Master Gracey was in fact a Sailor.
I can't wait to see more of your 3D Disneyland in the future! :)
