Beautiful, it is just beautiful and majestic and grande..... I LOVE Virgil Fox's version of this particular piece. Thank you Giovanni Danda!! I could listen to this all day and night. And of course, only on a pipe organ. ; )
Damn, I miss Virgil so much it hurts. No musician ever came close. His version of Bach's "Come Sweet Death" on the Wannamaker organ in Philadelphia, to me, was a personal audience with my God. (At the AOG Convention tried to discourage him from doing it saying, among other things that it was boring, a worthless project and couldn't be done. It only took Fox two weeks of practice on the Wannamaker. To me, that is his masterwork. You can order this very trippy video online.
Dear old Virgil he left some legacy didn't he ! You did him proud Giovanni. Just lovely listening to you play. Your posts are always rewarding, thank you for sharing.
What a splendid performance!......you are extremely talented. Virgil was not afraid to put music to a test on the organ......his musical structures were magfnificent...and he delighted millions of people whether playing Bach, Vierne, Boelmann, Widor or Franck...and thanks to him....YOU get to play his arrangements!
I love this version better than opther's. Too bad Virgil Fox is gone.......he had quite a gift! We saw him in in concert here with his Rodger's Organ. He had people up dancing a gig ij the isles. Marvelous!
..the genius of Bach on a twenty-first-century instrument. WELL done, Giovanni. Makes me regret not continuing my piano lesons as a kid. Also blown away by Hauptwerk software. The Litomysl software is the best i've heard so far. Thanks again, and keep uploading!!!
The angel's Last Trumpet will be a whisper compared with this! What a massive sound. Blows your socks off. New piece to me and glad I discovered it. Wow, coudn't type any more till it had finished! Marvellous stuff.
Although I may have not known Virgil Fox, I still believe he was a kind, gentle, and admirable man. Virgil Fox had a warped sense of humor, that almost all liked. May he rest in peace, and God bless his works!
Spectacular performance Giovanni of Virgil Foxs' arrangement of Bachs' Sinfonia Cantata BWV 79. You are an awesome organist! :o)) Thanks for posting all your wonderful videos. Happy New Year to you and your family. Sei un mito!!
I listen to pieces like this, and convince myself bach thought of music much more than a science. It feels like god was his 100 percent inspiration. Of course i would never know bach's intentions. Thank you for the beautiful music.
Half a century ago--well, almost--Virgil tripped the main D.C. breaker on a 4/64 Moller at a concert at my school in Chicago. I had to sneak into the chambers and turn it back on. I wasn't supposed to have a key, but if I hadn't had one that would have ended the program. In spite of his flamboyant showmanship he was a consummate musician. Hauptwerk Virtual Organs amaze me! Gotta have it!
Virgil does not seem much loved by some these days, but I love his musical sense of humour and of course is huge ability. And thank you for this...tremendous...love it! Just found you so I look foward to listening to your music.

Virgil was so much fun. Sorry that he died.

Bach is the best composer of all time. No one, even Mozart, Lully, Haendel or Arvo Pärt could compete with him. Simply the greatest of all time.

Most enjoyable; some very interesting organ cases shown. Maybe if Bach indeed had those shades, his eyesight may have held out a little longer!

I grew up in Virgil Fox's hometown, Princeton, Illinois. When I was in high school, he returned, and they gave him the key to the city.

Almost better performed than Fox himself!
Virgil kept brushing adjacent notes (same places where I did) but Virgil did not clean up his "disgrace notes".
Had this continued to build a little more, becoming brash, it would have been better than Fox!
Dislike the "ta da" athend.
