Chris Blackwell(guy in green shirt)was a thief who gave Bob Marely less than £20,000 pounds for his first 4 albums. These albums went on to make hunders of millions of pounds.Chirs Blakwell needs to Catch a Fire ,thats if he is still alive.
Among today's historians, the concept of feudalism is considered problematic, bastard feudalism no less so. Provided that a king was able to control the lords, bastard feudalism could provide a stable way of organising local society. Two points are worth bearing in mind in relation to the Wars of the Roses:
Bastard feudalism is a term that has been used to describe feudalism in the Late Middle Ages, primarily in England. The gentry began to think of themselves as the men of their lord rather than of the king. The term was coined by the historian Charles Plummer in 1885. Plummer blamed bastard feudalism for the disorder and instability of the Wars of the Roses in the fifteenth century.
very interesting facts that people don't realize about record production -- we were sold Bob Marley the same way they sold Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson! (and the Dixie Chicks!) I love it! Even still, the live albums show he deserved to be the king of reggae.
It's sad that the producers modified and controlled Bob Marley's music. I would have like the pure versions of the well-known songs. It's sad that it's like that.
Pay attention to what Bunny has to say starting at 6:28 min. They kept the "basic reggae principles" and added details in order to "attract the international market place." Brilliant move, without it there probably wouldn't have been a reggae artist as Bob Marley.
When I first heard Catch A Fire, I knew I was listening to a great album. I had no idea how much work and overdubs were put into this recording. Play this album with any other record, and you'll realize that you're listening to a work of art. Sometimes we forget that even the great Catch A Fire, didn't take the world by storm. This album remains as a classic, by any standard.
This is an illegal rip from the Classic Albums dvd - if you like it, buy it. You can get it for $8.99 on amazon.com or ebay.

I'm happy they produced this record...

You're high... they're so much better with the mixed dubs. The originals are interesting but not even close to the same feel and groove.
