@Bassplayingboy i believe most artist today do use auto tune. either their producers make them or they don't want any mistakes or anything on their albums...but i know some do use them live as well...auto tune makes me sad.
artists normally use auto tune most in their riffs or jiggle notes. well at least girl singers....oh and for all you people saying oh no t-pain uses auto tune?? he's been using auto tune since 2000...get with the program hahah
How widely used are the auto--tuners for artists? I have been told that most recording artist use them in the studio. Don't if this is true. I hear them a lot in music but do most artists used them for both recording and live?
Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine is speaking out against auto-tune, the downloadable studio trick that can make vocals hit the proper note and pitch. It's become widely used in pop music recently, and Levine isn't thrilled about it. He Tweeted, "Dear auto tune. Go away. You are infecting music and wounding my soul. We don't need you.
Do you people not know how to read? I didn't make this. My classmate made it for college, and I posted on YouTube for our assignment. So stop excusing me of things. For the last time, I didn't not make this!
I didn't hear any autotune in Maroon 5 or Rascal Flats. Producer from MAroon 5 says that Adam doesn't use Autotune, and Adam says he doesn't like autotune, I think that thing you think is auto tune is just his unique voice.
Ben Burnley,Chino Moreno,Pete Loeffler,Myles Kennedy,Ryan McCombs,Jesse Hasek,Kevin Matisyn,Scooter Ward and thousands of other rock/metal vocalists don't use this crap
thank you or putting up this vid yo! i dont think rascal flats and maroon 5 do, but all the other really do. im so sick of it! without autotune, justin beiber would have no fame, britrney spears wouldnt make and album called circus, she'd be in one, sean kingston would just be another rastafarian, and the dixie chicks would probably just work in a redneck whore house. so sick of auto tuners. they need to stop singing and get a different career if they use it.
I have no problem at all with people using it. With today's software, like Fruityloops and an Antares plug-in, you don't have to know how play any instrument or sing at all. But, you still have to have musical talent to pull it off.
I still think the best use of Auto-Tune is Auto-tune the News. Those guys reek of musical talent and are masters of composition.
@BuKaNoCo buuuuuut, people still had talent BEFORE all of that stuff was invented to "fix" notes, and the difference was that the talent pool was more selective because of that fact.
so instead of "well, you can pull it off sometimes, but we'll just autotune/correct the rest" it was "if you cant pull it off ALL the time consistently, you cant be a singer"
it was more genuine before autotune and voice correction. because of auotune, many people miss out on the REAL artists out there.
Not a single artist in my media library uses autotune.
I have used Melodyne before - that *is* an industry standard - but its normally used with people who arent as used to singing as they could be, or are a little bit rusty. Most artists dont use it - think of how many musicians there are in the world, and then think how few musicians there are who use autotune.
@AJHadley Are you kidding? Almost all artists use it.. And you are just blowing auto tune out of proportion. The t-pain setting is not the only setting on an auto tune filter... Its like melodyne, you wouldn't even know someone is using it
@AdrienChaos Comparing Autotune to Melodyne is like comparing Audacity to GoldWave. Most professionals I know wouldnt touch Audacity with a bargepole.
@AJHadley Im not saying that melodyne is not pro, its all I use if I have some problems with any audio, whether it be vocals are a violin part. I am just saying, that everyone thinks autotune just gives the T-Pain Effect... Which is not true. And your right I agree about the Audacity/Goldwave in relation to Melodyne/Autotune... Good observation I like that..
your not understanding the concept. Autotune does not have to be obvious. and Rascal Flatts is very very obvious. You can actually hear it. LIsten autotune just doesnt allow your voice to go flat. You dont have to sound like T pain to be using autotune. you have to know that EVERY single artist since like 1997 has used it. Think of it like a machine, some artist set it on like "light", and some put it on "heavy"....hope that helps
I disagree with Maroon 5... he sings really well live!! and I doubt he uses auto tune! :S I also don't agree with Rascal Flatts... great vid though, thanx for upload :D

how can u tell its auto tune? O_o
Laszlo429 1 year ago
@Laszlo429
You can't always tell if it is or not. Certain artists will make it obvious, but most use it to subtly correct errors in their singing presentation.

@Vintexen Listen to the way he sings "rain" and "smile" there is an unnatural echo there.

No, I didn't add anything. Yes, they all have auto tunes. A classmate of mine put this together for a college course.

And I absolutely love GoldWave :P

@AJHadley Oh yeah definitely, and if you have it too subtle it hardly does anything.
Never actually had any experience with Goldwave :P Is it cool?
