@skycaprob more common asteroids are "respawned" after every downtime (daily)... there are other minerals though that are respawned only 2 times a week...
so once again: the more common the mineral is, the more frequently it will respawn...

This video really helped me. I actually didn't know that we could do anything with the planets. It would be real fun if that console FPS-game you're working on works out, and if you'd implement it in PC as well.

This game is quite cool, but it would be fucking wicked if we in the future could build empires on planets!
@ImperaGaming Actually, it was confirmed to not only be in the eve universe, but affect EVE online. Players can hire mercenaries for various jobs etc.
1) Is it really hard to get used to? - No, There is a very helpful chat called rookie which people/GM's answer your questions(after a week I knew what I was doing).
2)Is it worth it? - EVE takes a very lot of time.. meaning not like other MMO where you log off.. and continue 8 hours later like nothing happened.. every minute / hour counts. So keep that in mind
Game is complicated its basically a realistic Real -Life space game in the mere future if you dont have the balls to wait for skills to train then I dont suggest this game to any one that doesn't have a brain. There is no REAL storyline ITS up to YOU. YOU MAKE YOUR OWN DESTINY!

EVE Online is by far the most complicated and largest learning curve I have ever had to deal with. Once you get to it though this game is just....EPIC.
@datinyone I am not saying WoW is the most complicated game in the world but it still has a bigger learning curve then many games out there. And being able to heal efficiently in a hard mode 25 man raid where one tiny mistake can wipe an entire group is not simple. And I have in fact played Eve and the learning curve in MY OPINION is daunting but still AWESOME. And by difficult I mean challenging and not QQ I suck at this game. @hentaikiller ummm WoW is not complicated at all...it's all bout not having tards. Having a slight ideal and your good. Never did the whole healer thing but am a tank...or was since I haven't touched the game in weeks n doesn't seem likely I'll be playing Cata, but even tanking was pretty damn easy. It's all bout being competant and not having retards in your party/raid. Get the whole "OMG....you were awesome!!!!" which I just had a bit of common sense with a slash of competancy.
I wish I knew about this game sooner. I always wanted to play a universe based game like this. I hear it has a pretty big learning curve which is okay in my book. A lot of smart people in this game, no? Hopefully not too many kids. :)
@Michigan1985 There will always be a few dumb kids but they are actually fun. They are the only ones who can't manage to do anything except try to attack you in low security space. The more intelligent players who managed to accumulate more money (and therefore have better equipment) then get to blast their pitiful pirate ship into oblivion.
from reading the comments below just let me say this, eve is complicated enough to where when you try out another MMO besides eve you will be disapointed.
@Ashadow700 Live. Its a economic/strategic space simulator. Its like world of warcraft or LOTRO, where all you do is up to you = no goal, just enjoy. EVE is much more mature game though.
@Ashadow700 whatever you want can go around fighting, missions, joining corps and whatever else you want to do. alot of ppl are pirates and if you kill them you get money. you Choose what you want to do. still getting into it being in a corp makes the game much more fun.
I actually decided to try out eve online.. its pretty awesome. A great game for those who only have a certain amount of time on their hands. So I can play for 5 hours and come back next day and have leveled up. Met some really nice people in the game that made it just that much more enjoyable.
The Eve Game isn't developed for the people who need their daily fix of "head shot" and "humiliation." If it's too complicated for you, then we probably don't want you playing anyway.
People who think eve is complicated are trying to take it all in, Don't. You only need to know what you need to know. I know a lot about industry and drone fighting but nothing at all about missiles and shield tanking. Make no mistake it's not simple, but don't try and learn everything right when you start.

@first1evolve Eve is set up in such a way that new players can enter all the time and begin to develop a character without worrying that all the "good stuff" has been taken. There are so many possibilities in this game that there's literally room for everyone to enjoy. Sure, there are long-standing corporations, huge conflicts, and game politics that you're not likely to walk in and take over for yourself. But you can start any time, and really make it YOUR game.

@FlashDAH Well my freind, you may got to EVEonline . com, set up a 14 day free trial account and download the EVE client, or, you may purchase EVE Commisioned Officer Edition. The situation with the exspansion packs is that their really are'nt any "expansion packs" but their are expansions. They download like a patch and are free.

Are most planets in high-sec going to be mostly overrun, or is there plenty of room left out there? I know there's probably a ton more factors involved, I'm just wondering if I'm going to have a harder time starting this late.
There are literally thousands of solar systems and tens of thousands of planets, but equally so, there are a ton of players, I'd imagine most of the populated systems will be depleted.

True, true, but why delete the character ? You can simply expand into the field you want without removing your combat experiences, I love how open ended and non-restrictive the game is.

I tried finding a game that's even remotely similar to EVE in the detail of player-dependant gameplay, graphical superiority with minimal system requirements, and represents the very meaning of 'nowhere is safe, only some places are safer than others'. I still haven't found a game that provides what EVE Online does, even partially. EVE Online is unique and NO other game is like it. EVE is a Godly game.
How many skill points do you need for this? I'm at 3.5 million and this game drives me crazy. All the agents from my best standing corp have shitty quality, and if I do find one good one grinding lvl 2's for 60k isk a run, they are 25 jumps away. I'm scared to even try pvp in my hurricane because I can't even get a Tier 2 item yet and if I lose it I can barely replace it. I used to ninja salvage alot but I can't ever scan anyone down, and I couldn't kill them even if I had the chance.
@Grundalizer lol, i throw tier 0-3 items away all the time as junk loot, and send it for recycling by corp. last time i did send a couple of days work for recycling and got 40m for it. add to that the isk i got for ratting and i'm over 200m in 2 days. 0.0 pays off.

@Grundalizer dont let go, stay, learn, join corporation that is helpfull, try other profesions, read a lot tutorials and information. You will find yourself.
@forerunner22 it can be a waste if you don't place the planetary units properly, and I gotta say that owning the whole chain (from the raw materials to the final product) is expensive for a single individual, so if you don't have a market or a potential buyer this is really a waste of time.
You can make some isk by just selling the raw materials, but your profit is gonna be small. The idea is that all of these can be later used to make POS components or T2 modules.
I have done everything in the video - if I launch my resources into space with 3,000 quantity - will I be able to put them into my ship with a hold of 400?
This is Hilarious. You all know there are going to be Pirates and Grievers all over the place waiting for a launch so they can kill and loot you and the Buildings on the Planet if they can be attacked and If not then Eve wont be staying to its Darwinian Model of play. The Strongest Survive. Its also funny to me that Socialist Darwinians make a Game that based on pure Free Market Capitalism.
Basically every material has a use, otherwise, there would be no use in it existing, as, when you sell something, you're selling it to other players, through the market (much like an auction house).

@hentaikiller How are you a customer if you don't pay? How are they to maintain a server cluster capable of handling 60,000 + people online simultaneously without income?
I mean, I'm not one to praise corporations, but that's a bit ridiculous.

Wow, I've been away from eve online for little over a year and I have to say that with this feature the game has become much more interesting. I will definetly buy a better computer and play eve once more (hopefully my account will still b there).

Of all the features in EVE Online this is the one that I find most interesting. There's only one problem I'm seeing with this though, it's an MMORPG and everyone will have gotten their own planets already.

@first1evolve Eve is set up in such a way that new players can enter all the time and begin to develop a character without worrying that all the "good stuff" has been taken. There are so many possibilities in this game that there's literally room for everyone to enjoy. Sure, there are long-standing corporations, huge conflicts, and game politics that you're not likely to walk in and take over for yourself. But you can start any time, and really make it YOUR game.

@FlashDAH Well my freind, you may got to EVEonline . com, set up a 14 day free trial account and download the EVE client, or, you may purchase EVE Commisioned Officer Edition. The situation with the exspansion packs is that their really are'nt any "expansion packs" but their are expansions. They download like a patch and are free.

@PiperGK1 -yes i know people who wont play it,because they started to but,belive that its already been "owned as such" all industrys etc already have corp to big to compete with,and that you cannot ever get ahead.If CCP keep adding new systems and not in little numbers this shouldn't happen.I hope they are wrong.I think adding new industries etc will also give new & never ending challenging,satisfactory fun!

Also, is there actually an in-game PI tutorial? She mentions the reward you get from the tutorial... but I thought whenever I'd heard people ask about a tutorial in the Help channel... they were always just told "there isn't a tutorial, just watch the youtube".

I started right when PI had just come out. I was so busy learning the rest of the game I never got to try it.
Are most planets in high-sec going to be mostly overrun, or is there plenty of room left out there? I know there's probably a ton more factors involved, I'm just wondering if I'm going to have a harder time starting this late.

There are literally thousands of solar systems and tens of thousands of planets, but equally so, there are a ton of players, I'd imagine most of the populated systems will be depleted.

The game payment should have a Year Purchase Pack so your account is active for a year. Much easier to remember when the game expires.

Agrees with Pawel84Pawel Find something you like to do in eve For example i used to be a combat pilot and dint really like it, so i deleted the charictar and sent my isk to my alt, Now i love playing eve because youve got so many options on career for example i am now a hauler of variouse goods, and i love it ! riding around in my obelisk for the corp i enjoy making a good sum of money !

True, true, but why delete the character ? You can simply expand into the field you want without removing your combat experiences, I love how open ended and non-restrictive the game is.

@CaptainViral84 Should've been, could've been, but wasn't, isn't, and never will be. I tried finding a game that's even remotely similar to EVE in the detail of player-dependant gameplay, graphical superiority with minimal system requirements, and represents the very meaning of 'nowhere is safe, only some places are safer than others'. I still haven't found a game that provides what EVE Online does, even partially. EVE Online is unique and NO other game is like it. EVE is a Godly game.

How many skill points do you need for this? I'm at 3.5 million and this game drives me crazy. All the agents from my best standing corp have shitty quality, and if I do find one good one grinding lvl 2's for 60k isk a run, they are 25 jumps away. I'm scared to even try pvp in my hurricane because I can't even get a Tier 2 item yet and if I lose it I can barely replace it. I used to ninja salvage alot but I can't ever scan anyone down, and I couldn't kill them even if I had the chance.

@Grundalizer lol, i throw tier 0-3 items away all the time as junk loot, and send it for recycling by corp. last time i did send a couple of days work for recycling and got 40m for it. add to that the isk i got for ratting and i'm over 200m in 2 days. 0.0 pays off.

@Grundalizer dont let go, stay, learn, join corporation that is helpfull, try other profesions, read a lot tutorials and information. You will find yourself.
Important to find fun:
- Find what you like to do in eve
- Do it in your corp, group
- Use voice communication
- Learn and think

@forerunner22 it can be a waste if you don't place the planetary units properly, and I gotta say that owning the whole chain (from the raw materials to the final product) is expensive for a single individual, so if you don't have a market or a potential buyer this is really a waste of time.
You can make some isk by just selling the raw materials, but your profit is gonna be small. The idea is that all of these can be later used to make POS components or T2 modules.

This is Hilarious. You all know there are going to be Pirates and Grievers all over the place waiting for a launch so they can kill and loot you and the Buildings on the Planet if they can be attacked and If not then Eve wont be staying to its Darwinian Model of play. Basically every material has a use, otherwise, there would be no use in it existing, as, when you sell something, you're selling it to other players, through the market (much like an auction house).

CCP please stop adding shit like this to the game. You guys work so hard at this game but i really wish you would stop adding stuff so we can at least have decent battles which is something we don't have anymore.
I just spent 20 billion isk on a NYX supercarrier and my first op was a complete disaster.
Lag, Couldnt agress anything, Couldnt lauch fighterbombers, crashed, Black screen for 10 minutes and after i jumped my ship to safety i logged off and went to the pub for a beer. great game lol.
