Phantom's ninja star has energy spikes in the artwork, but it's made of metal in the game sprites. Model PX in the ZX series throws energy blades in the artwork but metal ones in the game. I never really understood that. Could the sword be made of energy too like the Z-Saber?

Phantom is awesome, but he never showed up in number 2. He died at the end of one by self destruction to try and stop Zero. His secondary form was just concept that they were going to use, but they didn't have the chance.

He took down weil and that was his goal, after realizing he succeeded he probably didnt try to stay alive

If you want to go by theory, Phantom's the youngest. He's supposedly designed by Copy X later than the first three, who were designed by X. The first three were originally designed to revitalize the environment after Eurasia. Phantom is strictly a fighter, thus lending toward the theory that he's not one of X's, but one of Copy's.
