  • I. Love. Windows. 7!

  • windos seven sucks

  • what a rtard, i bet if ur running 7 on the max resolution it can go on an hd display, u wont be able to even start to distinguish the spacing difference on the start menu, who the hell even cares? its all there isnt it? it looks good doesnt it? so who cares about the spacing difference?

  • windows 7 Professional 29.99 price to have an .edu i probably should have done that. but i will be going back anyways. for couple classes left

  • Windows 7 is way better than XP or Vista

  • worked awesome for me too i swear but i got witch is way better lol

  • Apple=Overpriced and Overrated fashion accessory.

  • What Does Windows 7 Bring to the Table? A very good operating system :)

  • moron

  • Dude, you are so kidding! Vista is great if you do not try to have it not work!

  • @CrazyubaProductions Give yourself a computer with the 1GB or less of RAM that most people had when Vista came out and then say it's great when trying to do your normal stuff.

  • Dude, you are such a moron!

  • how can he zoom like that?

  • @erdal0 He said he's running it in a virtual machine... And he's using an iMac. Macs can zoom in whenever they want to :D. (CTRL + Scroll.)

  • i have had no problems with vista or windows 7

  • @KimberleyASamuels Same, ive been running vista on my toshiba for 3 years now and its still as good as new.

  • I'm proud to say that I was an XP user and switched to 7 and skipped Vista. I tried Vista a few weeks ago to see why so many people hated it and, I see why. Vista is not a good upgrade from XP at all. Vista reminds me of XP. The main difference between XP and Vista is Aero. And to be honest, I didn't think Aero was finished. It was buggy and seemed like it was still a beta. Vista got slower and slower after each Service Pack. Thumbs up if you agree :D

  • @JeffTheComputerGeek

My biggest gripe with Vista was the stupid memory caching system that was supposed to help performance, but only hindered it. I was tempted to use USB Keys for ReadyBoost when I was trying Vista, but I declined and waited for 7.

    Haven't looked back.

  • I'm proud to say that I never have had any problems with Vista.

  • @jonzxcv me too i don''t know why people hate it

  • BTW, to people asking why he is running windows 7 on a mac

there is an application, that is apple supported, called BOOTCAMP

it lets you dual boot ANY windows OS on a mac, provided it has a duel core intel chip...which is pretty much all of them made after 2007

  • this is suppose to be a tech channel and all you can say about the biggest change windows 7 has is "Taskbar and Startmenu" !? no wonder you use a mac. How shallow.

  • @ImperialArmour Somehow, it got warped into a computer channel... oh wait. computer is tech. :P

  • he complains about such little things... "the icons in the start menu have a gap >:o" i say "pfffft.. who cares..."

  • Is Aero theme faster than the basic or classic theme on my new computer? :O

  • @djwela Basic is mildy faster and classic is much faster on your machine. :)

  • windows 7 is good, but it needs to be more lightweight.... when you click on start menu you, it seems very heavy, hungry for calculations, its laggy. at the moment it is like a win95 compared to win xp

  • i have windows 7 ultimate and its the shiznit!!

  • Comment removed

  • I've always been a mac guy, but own and use both windows and osx machines. Windows 7 is definitely snappier. I like it so far.

  • @Neosum hehe Good news! :)

  • windows 7 rocks

  • i would get windows 7 if it was free

vista seems to work fine for me.

  • @nauls82 vista r u kidding me?

  • @nauls82 If Vista works fine for you then I think you shouldn't need to upgrade. :)

  • No problem here either.

  • fuck ur advertising

  • lol spacing is epic fail? ok....

  • how do u get a free win 7 upgrade i have xp

  • download it off the net

  • Just got my copy of win7 ultimate

    Free @

    X-Leech . Com

  • Only reason I got windows 7 is because I had the free upgrade. I love it though.

  • i like vista i dont see whats wrong with it

  • window 7 is not slow

  • @123ilikecheese456 It's not slow, it doesn't suck, and it never uses more than 2GB of ram. (only with camtasia, and virtual machines, and some other real hardcore programs)

  • lol

  • now my good friend, this 'UI' issue you speak about isn't an issue, if you have got thousands of shit in that menu, you would be thanking ol' gates for it.

  • no most places dont sell the home premium offerfrom microsoft for £30 becasue you can get provfesional for same price under that offer its in the small print and ultimate for an extra £30 buts its upgrade only ($30 in us £30 in uk)

  • Great vid.

  • The biggest problem with 7 is font size when running Chrome it CANNOT be altered without ctl++

  • wow the whole space between items thing...he couldnt be more desperate to find something wrong with windows 7, Iv been watching chris for a long time and ever since he switched to mac he rags on windows every chance he gets.

  • Windows 7 is fantastic. Dont listen to this apple fan boy. He's not even giving it the benefit of the doubt, he's running win 7 in a damn emulator.

And i'll have to agree i have never had any compatibility programs with VISTA. NONE. At the time i really loved my vista, but then 7 came along... The ultimate apple ass kicker! You could build a computer for a fraction of the price with Win7 on board and kick apples but in performance and productivity. Face it, Windows has all the software

  • @ var1um amen a fucking men

  • So I should go out and buy Windows 7 so that I don't have to right click on an item to get to some of the shell extensions? Do people seriously do this? If you had a car with low mileage that was working fine, would you buy a brand new version of the same car just because it had a longer radio antenna? Judging from Microsoft's sales, apparently the average consumer would.

  • nice

  • I did want to ask what does windows 7 pro offer over windows 7 home premium other than windows xp mode since people think that is a big deal??

  • All I will say I am sticking with windows xp until windows 8 is out then. I am not concerned about eye candy, $200.00 for eye candy is not worth it to me, I am sorry if windows xp works and ain't broke why fix it. I will say this Microsoft should come out with a windows xp service pack 4with all the blasted updates they have and continue to come out with.

  • The guy said he had no problems but then at the end says that it crashes? WTF, it looks like the guy just tolerates Vista or doesnt know of anything better.

  • Your dog is so cute ^_^

  • The task bar and menu is a reason to upgrade to Windows 7? Is he on drugs? They are not much different than Windows XP. Just a different theme. Themes by the way can be changed using Window Blinds, UXtheme, etc. You can even make Windows XP have Windows 7 or Vista task bars and menu. I build computers. I'm a geek 2 and that isn't much of a reason. Basically Windows 7 is great. Vista was 2, but not as much. XP is fastest and you can theme it thousands of ways. PCs rule 80% of the world!

  • Blinds make windows run slower I recomed vistaglazz it paches the system so it will support 3rd party themes and I don't like xp hate the blue and the interface is outdated vista is great

I'm probly soon going to upgrade to 7 (if your wanting to know why I haven't done any videos is because I don't have a mic and my webcam is rubish)

  • Negativ., I'll say as much and whatever I may please.

  • Obviously you're not the brightest light in the chandelier hehe

  • I recommend Vista to lots of mi friend and are using till today it was greater Os may be it is usually behavior if you are out of not be able having a thing you tend to cast, over my two years of using Vista well it was greater Os! I have never been disappointed... thought is don't work with some shit

  • I like vista. No problems.

  • Lol... Not funny :P Vista was Crap (Lol yes, I'm straight to the point) Windows 7 rules (Im on it)

  • i feel the same way about vista. It works good for everything i want to do! I've never had any problems out of it.

  • People always have to find something to complain about.

  • im gettin win7 free wiv my laptop :D dell xps m1330

  • Oh, so you think you didn't already pay for it?

  • Windows has been quite buggy, through many many versions. It successfully positioned itself as a necessary evil amongst OS's so to speak. Many people prefer not to use it, but are often forced to do so, due to popular support for hardware & software reasons. Porprietary items = higher prices & often buggy software intergration. Apple has its own method of avoding such problems but unfortunately they still suffer us to the pitfalls of high proprietary pricing.

  • Windows 7 sucks, more than half of my software as in my Kodak software and so many other to mention do not work. Not to mention that youtube videos cant even be seen through windows 7

  • Im using win7 and I can watch youtube vids.

Also, the fact that some of your software wont work is to do with Kodak not updating their programs to work with win7. It dosnt suck, you just seem to not know what your talking about

  • I can watch youtube videos after i did some work on this windows 7 and it seems to be that there is a dumb ass out there, i have updated my kodak software but Windows 7 will not let it run along with so many other programs. Hell, like i said before, the games that came with this new pc wont play for windows 7 wont let them run. Its funny to see the number ofbad reviews to the good.

  • wtf happened to mojave?

  • mojave was a codename for vista. are you talking about those commercials?

  • is there a dog ?

  • I didnt realize they included PowerShell, that is nice.

Still, I dont see myself using that OS any more I need to and I only game at LAN parties, so yeah, I would still feel limited.

  • oh yeah I can get windows 7 for 0$

    microsoft academic alliance ftw!

  • Will the license will never expire?

  • It won't ever expire =)

  • hopefully, my buds keep telling me the license expires when we graduate.. I'm still looking for that in the MSDNAA site

  • I liekd me mellinium

  • Wicket stole the show!

  • The thing is that the new startmenu us just horrible. I'm not trying to just stick with the classic 98 style startmenu, but vista/7 sartmenu is just not designed very well especially when you have a lot of programs. Windows xp startmenu was a great change of the startmenu and I don't know why they had to screw it up in Vista then 7.

  • Honestly, have you even used Vista? I find it ENCREDIBLY easier to sort through many programs with Vista. All you do to search through your whole computer for 1 program out of a 1,000 or even a Million if you have that much programs is by typing in the program name and and it quickly showing up within a second or 2 rather than looking around?? I dont know where you are comming from but hey your choices and PC use is your call of course but man, i'm tellin yah..

  • I have it on my laptop, so of course I've used it! Also the searching on Vista works like crap, I have to have the capitalization and spacing exactly right or otherwise it will say it's "not found" and that's not very helpful.

  • And even if the search did work right my laptop is slow anyways, so it's probably take a minute or 2 (at the least) to even give me a result, and I prefer finding my programs the old way anyways.

  • I, as with others thing the epic fail menu thing is funny. Although its your oppinion, and I respect that, but in order to see more items at once to help with the efficiancy of looking through many programs you would think it would show more of them at once..which is why I like and think they did it that way. Scrolling through close groups of letters to find the one im looking for is easier that opposed to spaced letters. But that my oppinion of course.

  • if changing from xp to 7 you will have

to replace about all your 50 applications,

    nothing works.

  • oh question to peeps. why are you so skeptical about people enjoying vista. i dont tolerate it i like it. xp was awful in comparison. and windows 7 is better than jesus.

  • Chris' statement about the UI elements is an "epic fail". The reason why Microsoft didn't do any thing about it, is because there is nothing to do. Just because Chris doesn't like it doesn't mean it should be changed. Also there are millions of Vista users that have little or no problems with the OS.

  • 29.99 for an os isnt bad. free is better. ubuntu!! :)

  • microsoft has been screwing up for a long time.

this is just more obvious to people now.

what is sad is, people are still going to use windows, because they know nothing else.

  • lol my Unix Prof. hates Windows like non other (mac is Unix based) and my Networking Prof. thinks macs are useless. But Microsoft keeps making it harder and harder to manage the core basics of networking by trying to make it easer for newbies automatic setting changing shit while pros are just like wtf is this shit.

Windows Xp = 2 clicks to set ip, Subnet mask, Defult gateway, ect...

Windows Vista/7 = 6 clicks and the path to get to it is hidden like non other.

  • windows 7 is just so good for consumers like me, getting on the internet required 0 clicks. it just plugged it in and it connected on its own.

  • The funny thing is you are trying to speak for many people whom you know nothing about - trying to emply that I dont have any access to any other OS other that Windows and that is why I enjoy windows? No, I have infact tried others and I don't use Windows becuase I dont know of anything else its becuase I PREFER windows personally. So stop being soo ignorant and don't try and speak for me and others...speak for yourself.

  • Listen, if you choose to use windows, thats cool, I dont understand it, but thats cool, and hey, your right, I should speak for myself.

I do use Windows, because Windows is limited for me.

Do you know what FreeBSD, OpenSolaris, Ubuntu have in common?

    Package Management.

This is one of many reasons, I use an Open Source Operating System, over that closed source, bloated, piece of sh__ OS known as Windows.

But hey, that's me, speaking for me.

  • Good, I respect your oppinion now that you are not speaking for me but yourself. Do what you like. I don't consider windows a peice of shit myself but thats me. This is where we differ. Personal oppinion is not going to chance.

  • Change**

  • Anybody who says vita was 'fine' or 'good' or even 'awesome' and says there was nothing wrong with it needs to get their head out of their ass and listen to ANY credible tech review.

Why do you think microsoft extended xp support? Or create a Brand New OS right after vista? or admitted they failed miserably?

Just facts, microsoft screwed up, like they've been , and will be losing tons more people soon here unless they do something ASAP

  • I DO infact think Vista is awsome, of course it's not perfect, what is on earth? I think you need to get your head of your ass if you cannot accept the fact that there is way more oppinions that yours and "credible tech reviews". I have my own review of it, I dont need approval of a "credible tech review" to enjoy my PC and its opperating system. So tell me. Because Microsoft makes mistakes just like any other company and any human being means they are a failure. You have alot to learn my friend

  • Ok, for those who don't use their comps to their extent vista may squeak by.

For those of us who use their computers fully and need reliability and control, vista was crap.

Read any CREDIBLE TECH REVIEWS online. Not "your" tech review.

Microsoft has too many issues to list, and that's why it's client base is frustrated, unhappy, demanded a new OS, and is moving to mac.

No opinions here btw, just FACT.

  • I use my computer to a huge extent and once again I do not have issues. And yes, that is your OPINION of the OS. And I will continue to stick to my opinion of it. Like I said, I DONT need to read a "CREDIBLE TECH REVIEW" to tell me which is good. If I the user am satifactory with it, why in the hell would I rely on someone elses entirely different view over my own if it works for me to begin with ? Opinions buddy, opinions. Got to learn to accept that there are others than your own.

  • Thnx for ya feedback,.it wuz about time some one told the truth!

  • Ross, Dont let anyone tell you Vista is a bad OS. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Vista. If you have a good processor and enough RAM, Vista is fantastic. The reason why people complain is because they buy the 64bit and go for a cheezy processor and not enough RAM. I love vista.

  • I do aswell. Ingnorant, ingorant people.

  • Chris got owned by Microsoft ... now he bitches about bs

  • i still use xp... :O

  • just got windows 7 pro for £30 off microsoft site, i used the beta b4, its really stable compared to vista, so yh..

  • go win7 premium

  • Hey Chris, listen to this. I'm a highschool student and during zero hour, which is slightly before school, I go to a different school that has many fields of training. Right now I'm in an IT class. They gave us free passwords to download Windows 7 free on our home computer. Isn't that amazing!

  • Win 7 is easily the best OS I've used to date. No competition.

  • dog

  • Windows 7 baby!

All my XP programs run fine.

  • All but Dameon Tools =(

  • Daemon tools has always run fine for me on XP, Vista and 7.

I'm not pissing at you. I'm just giving you an instance where it worked. :)

On 7, though, it does give me a computability warning, which I tend to ignore. Not good to ignore those, I know... but I needed to install somethin!

  • They must have made a new update for Daemon tools cause it didn't work on last build for windows 7 beta

  • you can easily add the run command promt in the main menu like before but all you have to do is type run in the search and entre your done!

  • help I cannot email anymore with windows 7,

    where is the email programm?

outlook xp does not work on windows 7 why?

I need an outlook for windwos 7.

I tried thunderbird but thunderbird cannot emmbed photos properly in the email, or read emmbeded emails with photos

  • couldn't you use the web broeswer e-mail client? I use that.

  • Download it from Windows Live lol

  • LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO "Epic Fail" I love that saying!!! LOL

    CHRIS SED

    EPIC FAIL!!!

  • if you don't mind vista you don't do anything with your pc worth a shit

  • And why would that be? How do you come across such a conclusion? I loved Vista and Seven is even better since it handles resources better.

  • there will probably be a few service packs and updates in the future to iron out early bugs(we hope). Win Xp still gets updates and that was released in 2001.

Os are big things and it probably wont be perfect for all. Time will tell but so far looks a step in the right direction for ms. They've had enough practice though at making os...

Typing like ms fanboy. Silly me.

  • I got Windows 7 a month ago free from my college. I guess that a perk going to a IT school

  • Same here

    *highfives*

  • While I would love to upgrade to 7, I am not able to in my current boot camp configuration as the hard drive is too small to install the OS and some of the programs I want. atm I am running Snow Leopard and boot camping XP

  • at the very beginning, I mean

  • and I don't wanna point out much more of this guys flaws, but doesn't he look somewhat confused about his cordless phone?

either confused about which button he should push, or confused about why the heck someone saying "this call is sponsored by..."

  • 7

    simply

    excellent

    very stable

    elegant

    no errors YET

  • just got windows7 professional for 30$

  • Chris >> You should look into the reason behind that edu discount - I will send you an e-mail. When you read the fine print, it creates a way to create a thread in an effort to permanently identify the user for purposes of enforcing all future piracy laws, etc. There is more to it than giving the programs away for a great price...& Xan81 I think he was pointing out the lack of space, not an increase, if we are thinking of the same part of his video.

  • Either way, my point (and comment) rings true for the point I was trying to make.

Recap: Space in the "Freq Used" section should be different [wider] than the space in the "All Progs". Reason being: Quick-clicking ("Freq Used" area) and more space ("All progs).

EITHER WAY: He should realize the need for either situation.

  • windows 7 for 30 bucks?!!!!!!!!!! HOLLY SHIT!

  • I cannot stop laughing at this "Chris Pirillo" dude.

I haven't seen a charlatan of his measure in quite some time.

  • They made fun of him on Tosh.0. Pretty funny.

  • That's so true. Have you seen his ebook for windows 7 "tricks", it has like 10 pages with crap that even my little brother knows how to do LOL, and he asks money for it.

  • Can you upload it and send it to me?

  • Of course not, pay for it:P

  • The "Epic Fail" is that you've been wondering why the spacing is like that since Vista...

    That's so sad, bro.

  • The reason that the items in "All Programs" and the frequently-used items is obvious, kid...

    FREQUENT USE!

The spacing is increased so that the average user can click their selection with less precision in the Frequently Used items.

Aren't you a programmer?? Do you know what Object-Oriented programming is? Do you know what "Defensive Programming" is?

Could it be that Microsoft was looking out for older people or those with disabilities?

My god, man... You hurt me - you hurt me real bad. :(

  • "sweet"

    "rock on dude"

    fucking nerds

    but so am I

  • I'm personally staying away from Windows Vista and Windows 7 after many years dealing with Windows XP and viruses and slowness of my pc I have decided to go the Linux route and use Ubuntu or Red Hat.

  • Comment removed

  • Computers get viruses for 1 reason: Misuse by the user.

If you don't know how to keep your machine clean, please look into taking a class at your local community college.

I can't remember the last time I had a virus...

  • good idea

  • actually, Windows 7 is better then Vista

  • that is so true

  • Comment removed

  • Actually .. you can get windows 7 PRO as well upgrade

  • Is there a scheme also for Ultimate!

  • i like windows 7 taskbar than my mac os X dock and running vmware on a mac for win 7

  • so that's why it's 6.1...

damn... but still worthy to buy... like a "Faster Vista"...

  • you are on tosh,o about your dogs being darth vader! hahah

  • i see your running windows 7 on the iMac, did you hack it to make it do that? or is boot camp already ready for it. i heard it wasnt.

  • Probably running it via WMWare Fusion 3 which was launched specifically to run Win 7

  • boot camp is for all the new mac's and mac pros

  • nice dog, chris :)

  • Can't see what he is demonstrating.

  • Ironically enough.. When Microsoft stops supporting an OS hackers don't seem to attack it as much. drops like 95% lol

  • That's because like a lot of things going on in the anonymous internet, they are targeted attacks by competitors.

  • seriously ubuntu 9.10 is amazing im using it right now

  • I got 7 Ultimate for $100 through Academic Superstore at student price of course.

  • It brings slow shutdowns.
