I bet in order to have a ice rink in the southern U.S u'd need a refrigoration machine or play it only in the winter ( now a days it gets really cold in the winter like maybe 60 to 55 as a high and as low as 30 to sometimes 20 )

Depoends were, in florida the most expensive refridgeration unit couldn't handle out door ice. The relative humidity in Fla. didn't help either. Just forget outdoor ice in the southern US it'll never happen, at least not decent ice.

how big is your tarp. I"ve done this for 3 years now we always use a 60x30 tarp. Your rink looks a lot wider but not as long. I kind of like yours better though so get back to me if ya can.

No problem, Gordie. My pleasure! Hey, when I was young, I WAS the kid playing with no skates. They always made me play goal. LOL It was funny, many of could skate and many of us could not. We still had a great time staying out until we couldn't see the puck anymore. Now at 46, I still play 3 times a week. And yes, I am still a Goalie. LOL I never played any other position. I grew up and still live in the Chicago area and we finally have some hockey to cheer about. Thanks again, Gordie!

so, half-rink hockey is like half-court basketball? you have to take the puck back on changes of possession. I love how the goaltender stones the shooter at 2:29 and then holds on after the rebound shot. That's what wins back yard hockey games. Goaltending!
