  • all steve vai sound tis pikups rulz

  • Will that work on a trombone?? hah hah!

  • Is it the 101 model, being featured in this video, and also...will it work at the bridge position?

I have a single pickup route at the bridge of my steinberger copy.

    Thanks

  • Problem is the battery setup on a strat or Jag

  • Does the sustainer work with natural harmonics too? Like for example the squealing harmonic played for example by Dimebag Darrell at the end of Cemetery Gates by Pantera.

  • sick use of the sustainer man. u made that thing wail

  • LOL! i like the failed 7th note on that scale at the end :)

  • @budverissimo1 That was a mixolydian scale with a flatted 7th. Google "Proverbs 17:28"

  • Wow. This vid didn't do SHIT as far as justifying what the Sustainer can do. Everything done here, I can do by standing beside my amp with the volume and gain turned up. "Sustaining" means holding a note, and holding, and holding... not just hurrying on to the next 7-second jackoffshowoff finger masturbation section.

  • @IntwatPapsmir

Sorry but you can not do that with a normal guitar ....

Honestly, he isnt using his pick and still no note loses volume after holding it. Impossible without sustainer.

  • @seienchin88 Wrong. Now go suck an e-bow.

  • u can only use the pickup u get with cant you? in others you cnat hook up the system to another pikcup ey?

  • Buckethead uses on of these and a Dimarzio X2N

  • hear with or without you by U2 is you want a good example of sustainer

  • in theory its a build in E-bow?

  • basiccally

  • Except it sounds worse.

  • you can make your guitar sound alot similar to a violin if you mass around with it for a wile

  • Every single demo has that obnoxious vibrato. Stop that.

  • @d00derson its to show the sustain

  • @d00derson And turn off the delay...

  • @d00derson They can't stop, they are in panic :D

  • @d00derson man, that's the only thing it's used for lol :P

  • the Neck pickup should be replaced by the Sustainer

  • im pretty sure they have to be in the neck position so i guess that.

  • bad ass bro

  • Does anyone know how the Fernandes sustainer pickups compare to PAFs or Tones Zones tone wise? I was thinking about getting those 2, but this sustainer sounds pretty good. I guess I want to know someone's opinion after hearing them live.

  • steve vai uses it so...

  • the sustainer doesnt actually produce any sound of it's own, it makes the strings vibrate infinetely so that the bridge pickup can pick them up.

  • what? really? so you only get a bridge pickup?

  • its kind of like having an ebow, but its built in and you dont have to hold it over the string and wait for it to charge up.

  • These guitar wanks always use heavy distortion and excessive delay in these silly youtube demos, but the sustainer sounds best clean with just a subtle delay with it's 5th harmonic swells trailing beautifully after notes

  • @oleshatterbutt thanks for your opinion, i'll now take it as fact.

  • Dude.. I need this thing, I have NO sustain. I could do some kinda crazy Vai whammy thing.

  • can you put these in any guitar?

  • yes it's like a humbucker you put into your guitar

  • gnarly

  • it also comes in single coil size

  • true^^

    but it's more expensive haha^^

  • bad thing of owning a stratocaster :(

  • then you should've gotten the fender with a humbucker fat strat

  • no its not bad. to me most fenders sound crappy with humbuckers or hotrails in them. its a pragmatic solution for some live stuff but not really what the guitar is about. i say let i be a fender and dont make it something else. but thats all matters of taste of course.

  • ƃuıɥʇ sıɥʇ ǝʌoן ı

  • Nice sustainer! But your playing is anoying! classic nonsense fast crap

  • You're talking to no one bud. This is taken off of the Fernandes website...

  • its basically a magnet that vibrates the string.

if you've ever used an ebow. its pretty much one of those built into the pickup.

  • is the sustainer mounted in the neck position?

does the sustainer look like a singlecoil or humbucker?

  • well the montery i played in a music shop near me. the sustainer pickup was in the neck position. it looked like a humbucker.

  • It can also look like a sutainer, onzaash

  • huh?

  • I mean sigle coil..sorry.

  • ah yeah. you can get either =)

  • I'm a little confused... is this a pickup itself, or is it something installed in the pickup to make it ring longer? Is there any way I can install it into my guitar that uses active EMG's without having to remove the pickups?

  • is this a pedal or is it instaleld on the pickup?

and are all pickups available for this?

will ir work on any guitar?

  • basically its a systeme that is in the guitar and that keep in memory the last note made and make it ring forever. all pickup are avalable and you can buy the kit and put it in any guitar

  • do some homework on it bfore posting shit

  • Question: If you have a guitar that has a humbucker in the neck and bridge position, can you mount the sustainer in between the 2 pickups?

  • no you cant

  • so, if you already have a humbucker, that you are happy with in your bridge position, you can just mount the sustainer in the neck position?

  • uh huh yes you got the idea...but you lose a good sounding neck humbucker for a sustainer....evn tho sustainiac sustainers inculde a buiilt in pickup with the sustainer (dunno if fernandes does)...they are wayyy too trebly for my taste

  • thanks for the info. Well, I mostly play with the bridge humbucker anyway.

so does the humbucker in bridge and the neck sustainer work at the same time to achieve the sustain?

I love the sounds Neal Schon gets with his.

  • fernandez sustainer kit comes with a single coil and a humbucker... can i only install the single coil?.. because i have a fender stratocaster with a s-s-s pickup setting... i don't need the humbucker that comes with it.. answer please.

  • yes u need the hambucker

  • isnt that what the hamburgler uses in his guitars?...a hambucker

  • lol whoops i meant humbucker

  • llol.jk

  • you can get fernandes sustainer kits with each seperate pick-up you can get a humbucker one or a single coil one.

  • check out the ebow plus

you hold it in place of the pick

    and you get infinite sustain

  • you might be interested in the ebow, you dont change your pickups its just a device you hold in your hand that generates a magnetic field on the string it hovers over, creating sustain. but you do need to change at least the neck pickup for the fernandes sustainer

  • Im pretty sure u can change the humbucker that comes with the kit, with whatever you want but u still need to place the single coil driver in order for it to work, as for anything else im not sure.

  • what guitar is that it looks like a les paul.

  • Probably a Fernandes model, if not it's an ESP/LTD.

  • it is a fernandes guitar u can tell by the inlays

  • can i use the fernandes sustainer as a normal pickup?

  • yeas. though the output is equal to a single coil not a humbucker.

  • When you buy the kit, there is a humbucker and the actual sustainer, do you have to have both installed?

  • The humbucker is the sustainer.

  • How come it looks like the neck pickup isn't the one that comes with the sustainer? can u u se other pickups for it?

  • Ah, Sorry man, I get it now. I was thinking of the sustainiac that only comes with the one pup.

And in answer to ANuclearEra: No, you shouldn't need to install the bucker.

  • can you use othe pickups for the driver? im scared i might not like the one that comes with it.

  • Yeah. You should be able to. And yeah, I guess they wouldn't be too good quality if they're just throwing them in.

  • thx for the heads up.

  • that shit is SCREAMIN! I NEED ONE!

  • gorgeous

  • cool

  • A lot of noise...

  • how much are these i wanna install one on my les paul standard faded with burstbuckers to add a more gilmourish soloing power without having to destroy my Bogner Shivas aweseme tone

  • I wouldn't rout a les paul man- that will KILL the sustain. You have to cut a huge amount, but i guess the sustainer would make up for it... i give up :)

  • Is the kit easy to install?

  • dude a nomral gibson can sustain as long as he is using it

  • A normal gibson doesn't have the same sustain system. Fernandes Sustainer offers an infinite sustain and a 5th natural harmonic inifinte system too

  • yeah dude lespaul with the volume turned up all the way on your amp has amazing sustain

  • wowow...

    so grEaT...
