My mom raised 3 daughters and this song was our song....just sent it to my daughter who is now a mother 2 fraternal twins born on Valentine's Day! I am so proud of mybabygurl ~ angelkisses2u
I love this song, everytime I heard this song I always remember my eldest daughter, I dedicate this song to her, sadly she married in an early age, I felt all my dreams for her has gone, I miss her so much, how I hope she'll realize how much I love her, I wish she will, before time is not too late. I still wish and pray for her success for all her undertaking.
This is the song I used to sing to my little girl Stephanie in 1973-74 Sadly she has left us at the age of 36 and we miss her. Thanx for the memories. Peace!
As an early teen, I used to always hear this while riding in the car with my big sister Connie. She died in 1996, so I often think about that line in the song "when one of us is gone, and one of us is left to carry on." Little did I know,...... I'd be the one left to carry on.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I made this video for my mother (who is stiill alive)and my father (who passed away in 1993).Although when I made it, I had just lost a very good friend in a car accident and my step mother. I found the song healing and some how if fills a person up with love and gratitude for those who have touched our lives. Blessings~
@BurgerChefGuy My heart goes out to you. T here are certain songs I can't listen to because they remind me of my dead father. 13 years on and the pain goe on and on
I'm glad the song touched you. My mom used to sing this to me as a little girl. It is our song. I made the video for her and my father who passed away years ago. Anyway every clip means something to my mom and I and is personal. So I can see how it could seem out of context to you. But I made it for my mom, and she understood. Blessings~
I remember I got my first blow job in my '63 Chevy at the drive in movies when this song was playing. Let me tell you this, I came like a bucket full of silver dollars, not once, but twice! I couldn't kiss Donna during the movie or when I took her home but I put it to her real good in the back seat during the intermission. She was a screamer. I lost track of her but saw her at our class reunion in '88. We never had the heart to speak with each other, but I popped a boner for her a few times!!!

Does no one remember her huge scandal of ripping of people in stock trades?! The same thing Martha Stewart went for jail for, Hillary slithered off clean. She is also now using our tax dollars to pay for her multi-million dollar house in New York. Want facts? Read them for yourself and develop your own thoughts. Don't follow the crowd and assume that crowd is correct. Hillary would bring our naiton to it's knees.

If your idea of a good representation for women is a woman who made a choice to marry a man with her only goal as being in the White House, and she is an Honorary Lesbian, (yes look up "Hillary Clinton - Honarary Lesbian in Google)then you need to rethink all the ladies who represent woman kind. I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone with the ability to read a newspaper or watch a television can think of Hillary as anything less than a disgrace to our nation and a self serving human.
You may have the ability to read and watch (I'm guessing a very limited ability at that), but you obviously don't have the ability to comprehend. With all the mud the Republican, conservative, rabid dogs threw at her, none was able to stick. What pathetic trash they are. And the fact you libel her as being a lesbian, just shows how irrationally hateful you are. Plus, even if she is a lesbian, who cares? Besides being a dimwit, you're also apparently an intolerant, disgusting, bigot.
I love this song. It reminds me of when I was a little girl. I must say though, she sings "God is on our side" not buddah. And what does Hillary have to do with a great song? Please don't ruin a good song.
I am glad you love the song. My mother used to sing it to me when I was a child. Yes, she said "God is on our side" GOD...not a specific organized worldly religion. Helen Reddy also sang "I Am Woman" in 1972 which became an anthem for the women's liberation movement and Hillary represents how far women have come since that song. I appreciate your opinion.
Well done! :)

We've lost our sentimentality...whatever happened to the spirit of 1974?
I dedicate this to my late mom (July 2, 1924-June 12, 2009).

Beautiful and timeless tearjerker, but the photo show ruins this masterpiece of a song! That is what should be changed.
What should be 5 stars, I can only give 4 because of this.

Beautiful lyrics and musical composition, and the orchestra behind this tune deserves a great deal of credit. Exquisitely performed! Bravo!
Does anyone have the version performed by Kermit the frog on the Muppet Show?
