Oh yes, let us give more control to the government. Parents should have the dominate role in their child's upbringing, this charter gives more of that responsibility to the government. It gives the government the authority to determine whether or not you are providing a famliy enviornment. What is a family environment? That will be up to the government. Children will be taught things such as tolernace, we've seen what tolerance means today, my way or the high way. We must not sign.

How about the right of natural mother's NEVER to lose their child to some kidnapping adoptive or foster care mother. Don't give them the tax credits. Don't help social services make lies about them because of a divorce or hateful person. STOP TAKING CHILDREN AWAY FROM THEIR REAL MOTHERS. The U.S. hasn't agreed because we have our own child rights' laws. I don't know the details of this under the UN Convention so I'm not sure if there is something committing the U.S. to spending more money abroad to other countries by abiding to this agreement or if it just is not a concern to us because of our existing child labor laws.

@purplelyna Sure it does, I don't know if you realize this but the treaty violates all manner of parental rights. Among them rights to homeschooling, corporal punishment, and parental oversight are violated. In order for the treaty to be appropriate the UN must correct these failures in the document.
