Centuries ago there was an ancient Israel. There is a holy site (I believe in Jerusalem, not sure) where some jewish relic was held, and during the Roman Empire's reign, the Romans seized it. Later on, the muslims came to the same site (Islam, Judaism and Christianity are all just branches of the same religion at its core, therefore that spot was holy to them as the jewish) and built a mosque over it. They have been fighting ever since.
