@Kessler899 It's basically a sign of rules. I could make out "No Dumping", but not the others. I live a few miles from there, so if you absolutely insisted, I could run out and take a high quality pic for you. Let me know.
@Kessler899 I can do that, but I'd like to wait for a sunny day. So, give me a week or two. (it's been dreary here for weeks.) I won't forget. Of course, I'm not sure how to upload pics on youtube; but I'll figure it out, or incorporate it into a video.
I'd add "No Zombies" for you, but it would probably piss off the cemetary people.
@Kessler899 You might also be interested in a bit of history. In 1985 a huge tornado swept through this area. (I think f4 or f5) It was especially huge for an area that seldom sees tornados. According to some reports, the twister cracked open a crypt at the Evan City cemetary and there were caskets laying on the ground. Creepy stuff. The national gaurd had the whole area shut down for weeks. People caught in their controlled area without I.D. & and a reason for being there were arrested.
@shkunk1 That's kind of creepy. Also, what happened to the tree that was next to the garve that Barbra(?) and that guy went to in night of the living dead?, was it the same thing?
@Kessler899 Not sure about the tree or even where the grave was located in the cemetary. Me and some friends tried to figure out roughly where the grave was when we were teenagers, but there was no good aerial shot in the movie to give us perspective. I drive past there once in a while, but I haven't actually pulled into the cemetary in over 20 years. Also, the original film was made in 1968; things can change alot in 40 years.
@shkunk1 That's a good point, If you want to know about where all the stuff in the movie is then I can recommend 'A trip to the night of the living dead cemetary' the video is by a person called 'Jamesnintendonerd' (He is hillarious,he also does reviews of bad retro games) it shows him visiting all of the places in the movie. He also has a 'A trip to the dawn of the dead mall' video that is worth checking out.
Thanks for posting. I always liked them opening credit scenes, your video was very cool to watch. Incidently, I found a cool clip of the actor that played "Johnny", the one who has the keys! Type into search: Russell Streiner drive in comment. He does the famous line and talks about the impact the film had in the drive in market.
i would definitely be freaking out if i ever visited there. yes it is just a movie but i'd be scared shitless just the same. i still get freaked out in cemetaries from this movie! i think i would chicken out and start yelling for my boyfriend to turn the car around!
How much of this cemetery here is what was there and intact when the group were there filming in '67? I ask this because in one of the commentary tracks for the film I've heard, Romero and the rest were saying something about a really nasty storm tearing through the area and the cemetary some time after they filmed, and graves were even unearthed, I believe they said. Damn, how ironic is That?
its not the same without barbara to look at lolol ;)
but seriously surely im not the only 1 who thinks that Judith O'dea was the ultimate babe here and waht would be cool is if u showed comparisons with places shown in the movie with the actual movie 2:41 looked familiar wasnt that the crypt that they were shown in front of when they walked out of the car and into the cemetery?
The movie couple visits a grave next to a to a "Blair" stone; she clings to a "Nicholas Kramer" stone as the boy's head is smashed against a stone for "Clyde Lewis Myers." The zombie passes a "Cole" stone while chasing her. The outbuilding at 3:00 is in the movie when the zombie attacks the car. There are photos of the Kramer and Myers stones at the Findagrave website. There are Cole and Blair photos, but the stones aren't the same -- perhaps those in the movie were surname plot stones.
To follow up on this message, I came upon a website that says that the gravestone that the couple in the movie come to leave flowers on is a stone for George and Grace Cole. There is a photo of the stone at Findagrave.
its not haunted if it really is make a video of u there at night walking around and who cares if they wont let u in u sneek in and my friend thats called living!
Not so fast. I know someone from that area and part of the movie was filmed at Livermore Cemetary. Not a lot but a small part of it. He lived just up the road from it. Filmmakers often do small shoots at other locations to get a nuance they are looking for. Most of it was Evens City, though.
This is the information from Wikipedia on Livermore Cemetery:
"While the cemetery scene was filmed here, the bulk of the movie was actually filmed in Evans City, Pennsylvania more than 30 miles from Livermore." So, both locations were used.
Your friend is mistaken. All of the cemetery scenes were filmed at Evans City(all in 2 days as a matter of fact). For proof, read Romero's bio titled "Knight of thr Living Dead". He talks about the difficulty in filming due to time and budget restraints. As he says himself, they didn't have time to travel all over looking for the proper lighting or mood. Once they found a suitable area(in this case, Evans City), they had to rehearse, film the scene, and move on. Moving around was too expensive.
@HazardousRaptor Ahhh...the cemetery is awesome! I just went to Evans City this past October for a charity screening of NOTLD. We filmed Gary Streiner walking around and pointing out all the damages to the chapel. He's trying to save the chapel from being torn down.
i would never do this. i watched this movie on ondemand (cox) and had to stop after the first 5 minutes. i fucking hate zombies. i know this movie is 18 yrs old, but it is freaky as hell. annd, i thought that these were set up scenes... i've been to evan's city, but i didn't know that it was filmed here. sweet :D
few years ago, two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to ask if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids' room, the father said,"Take the kids and get out of the house. We'll call the police, we don't have a clown statue." The "clown statue" is really a killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this letter on to 10 videos tonight, the clown will be in your bed at 3:00 am with a chainsaw in his hand
