  • Claire, Claire,

    So unaware

You are full of hot air

WE DON'T WANT GOVERNMENT RUN HEALTH CARE

    Stop your ears-if you dare-

We'll vote some one else to take your chair!

  • Show that to the people who work for the government losing their jobs. Subject change cash for clunkers? Yet another desperate attempt of the government wasting more taxpayers dollars and putting the average American in yet agin another financial crisis. Buy a car you can't afford.... Why the hell did they have aPOS in the first place. How much food will that take from kids mouths?

  • Oh and your amazing reform is closing the SRS office here. Take your claim to the families that cannot get their benefits because that beautiful reform is closing the very place they turn to to get food stamps, medicaid, and rent. Show them paper and tell them that's better for their families, I'm sure they'll be more than willing to give that up.

  • Oh and if you want another hit. I have been a single mother and.....I am not a sir.

  • You see I'm the very persona of the npeople you're claiming to defend. Thanks but not thatnks. We don't need your help.

  • I don't watch Fox news. And you can believe whatever you want to believe. I happen to not believe in this bill and I'm sure you probably haven't read it yourself. My mother has cancer, I'm mexican, with kids that don't have insurance, living in the heart of America. I am one of the very peopple you are trying to use to convince me it is a good idea. I do not allow people to speak for me, and I will not support this bill. My choice. I'm glad people faught so I can have that particular freedom.

  • In 2004 it was estimated by a very well-researched, NON-PARTISAN STUDY, that 18,000 people with treatable diseases died yearly due to lack of insurance. That has gone up.

That is not the kind of rationing of health care that DECENT PEOPLE FIND ACCEPTABLE IN OUR COUNTRY. SHAME ON YOU.

  • FYI, jbugko, the only people I look down on are the ones who refuse to help themselves, and the ones who can talk the talk but won't walk the walk.

  • You mean who object to a bill they haven't even read? No wonder you refer to yourself as "ironic."

  • I do my duty as an American and I have pride in the America I grew up in. I feel that if someone is in prison for a crime, my tax dollars should not go to air conditioning, satelite TV, etc. That's hard earned American dollars that could go to other places where its needed. Like medicaid. I should not pay for a president to take a hundred thousand dollar vacation. This reform is BS no matter what color you paint it.

  • It's your duty as an American to READ the bill you are so against. You haven't even read it, you had commentators whose salaries and jobs are sponsored by the health care lobbyists, read it for you. And that ridiculous notion of "death camps" is shameful There's NOTHING IN THE BILL that has ANYTHING TO DO WITH sr. citizens not getting proper care or getting euthanized. Idiots.

  • So it's your duty to make your position a self-glorified one as an American, who looks down on your neighbors down the street who can't afford to go to the doctor or get adequate care, even though they are working just as hard as you; people who might have to retire early due to illness who can't; children who need eyeglasses but have to do without them because it's not covered; a person with cancer who has to pay out of pocket for the rest of his or her chemotherapy because the benefits stopped

  • When tax payers are paying for lobster to be shipped in to Montanna for a meeting and the local beef industry is not supported, what does that say to the hard working Americans? Needless spending needs to be governed by someone and the tax payers should be allowed to have an itemized statement of where our tax dollars go. Until then, I will not support yet another increase in taxes. Regardless of what its for. And nowhere in the Constitution does it say we are required to pay taxes.

  • You haven't read the bill, and you haven't any idea what is involved in constitutional law either, you are an ignorant monstrosity who has forgotten to think for himself and has tv commentators do his thinking for him. That's why you're against a health care reform bill, even though this country is in dire need of health care reform. Go collect leaches and laxatives for when you get sick. If you get cancer, go shoot yourself. But don't expect the rest of America to.

  • Which means, no matter who it is, a child or a grandmother. The illness will be treated according to an outline that the government has created. So, when a parent takes their sick child in, and that child has a debilitating illness, they can very well be told to go home and watch that child die. The government needs to work on fixing a whole lot of other issues.

  • I also don't feel that I should be expected as a tax payer to support elected officials in offiice who by the way, don't pay for their own insurancebecause it is provided to them with our tax dollars. Als, if you were to talk to anyone in the medical field, doctors especially, you will find that majority of them will tell you this bill will limit their ability to make decisions based on an illness and the necessary procedures to cure the illness.

  • Can't they see? We DON'T want this reform! All over town meetings both Rep and Dem are against this. Only the far lefty liberals who hate freedom and the constitution want this tyranny!

  • 1.. It will increase the number of people getting employer-provided coverage.

    2. It will help sr citizens & their families by eliminating the "donut hole" gap in coverage.

    3. People will be paying REASONABLE premiums.

    4. The qualifying benefits will correspond with the standard of care that doctors use to prescribe treatment.

4.(a) In other words, if you need chemotherapy for instance, for four months, according to your doctor, the health insurance co. will not be able to cut you off at 2 mos.

  • 5. Because more people will become insured, the subsidies that are being paid for emergency room visits of the uninsured - WHICH YOU ARE PAYING NOW - will greatly decrease.

    6. Small business and entrepeneurs will be able able to purchase affordable insurance.

6(a) Right now, the ins. industry is getting away w/charging small business owners more for the same policy that is offered larger businesses. That's why a lof of small business owners can't insure their employees.

  • 7. People with dependents are often not able to cover them due to the ridiculous ins. rate hikes for dependent coverage.

    8. Health ins premiums are forcing employers to cut back on coverage.

    9. Lack of affordable coverage has forced many WORKERS to join the ranks of the uninsured.

  • 10. A public plan, as a SLIDING SCALE-BASED COST option (in other words, people will be paying for it - it is based on your income) will compete against private insurers in a new insurance marketplace - WHICH WOULD BRING DOWN THE COSTS OF INS. In other words, Ed Hanway, the CEO of Cigna, might not be able to get an annual salary like he did last year of $12.2 million (that is $5,542 per hour) but Cigna is not going to go bankrupt having reasonable rates.

  • I guess it's "tyranny" for the bill to offer grants to each state for clinics adjacent to schools so kids can get free physicals, medical & dental care. And no, you don't HAVE to take your kid there, you can go to a private doctor and pay-out-of-pocket.

And according to you it's "tyranny" if the 10 million children who don't have any insurance get health care.

  • And before you claim that all those children are just a bunch of "lefty liberals" - tell that to the WORKING FAMILIES who don't have insurance while rates go up and out-of-pocket copays and deductibles increase.

Tell that to the 18,000 adults that, according to a well designed NON-PARTISAN study are estimated to die every year due to lack of insurance. Many of them worked for a living.

Tell that to sr. citrizens who find themselves with a gap in coverage.

  • Tell that to people who are PAYING their premiums but have to wait a year before their dr. visits and prescriptions are covered due to their pre-existing condition.

Tell that to people who have to retire early due to illness.

Call everybody you willfully ignore a "lefty liberal" while you make a self-glorified position of being an American - as if none of the people you choose to look down aren't Americans.

  • I am a working mother. Between my husband and I we have eight kids. I would pay almost 700.00 a month in insurance for those kids. Plus my taxes. I don not deny that insurance is needed for children who are not covered. I will say that it is not the government that should be regulating that coverage. And I will not vote for a bill that means the elderly have to suffer and be told to go home and die because the government feels that they are lost causes.

  • You wouldn't be paying that much if there weren't just a handful of providers who monopolize the insurance ind. What part of SLIDING SCALE do you not understand on the option that is being offered IN ADDITION TO private industry insurance. It is not a handout. It will however bring competition to the marketplace. And if you don't like regulations, then I guess you don't like the STANDARD OF CARE that a doctor, hospital, nurse, EVERY health care provider has to be in conformance with.

  • Well, a lot of working families who can't afford that premium OR the out-of-pocket expenses that come about from higher deductibles, higher co-pays, and items not covered under your policy, would WELCOME an additional option of insurance that is offered on A SLIDING SCALE BASIS. THEY'D BE GLAD TO PAY FOR THAT.

  • But it doesnt matter. This is the only country you can walk into a hospital with an emergency and they will give you the best care. If the bill passes this will not be the case. You will get regulated care. Heart attack? Have an aspirin and wait in line! Plus, you can make payments to the hospital as little as 10 a month if you talk to the collections team. This bill will make you pay for illegal aliens and the low lives who are on drugs with no job. It is sad how ppl want gov in there business.

  • Comment removed

  • You didn't read the bill. Health ins benefits would have to correspond w/a doctor's prescribed treatment. In other words, the STANDARD OF CARE that drs need to be in compliance with. Or would you prefer that drs not have any regulations? Would you prefer for an animal dr to operate on you w/ chainsaw instead?

There is NOTHING about illegal aliens - there is a std discrimination clause; your employer cannot deny you ins on the basis of race, religion, etc. - try reading the bill.

  • And as far as regulations go, next time you get on a plane remember this - the reason they can't take your money to go from point A to point B, and then strap a parachute on you and throw you out halfway, is that there are regulations that were put in place.

And I'm glad that a doctor or a nurse has to comply with the standards of care that are in place. It's too bad the ins. industry does not have to be in compliance in terms of benefits. That's what you're objecting to.

  • What? Thinkof how long it takes to walk in a post office for stamps, times 100 to that and it will be how government run healthcare will be. Socialized programs are not the answer in America. If you want that then go to Europe and ask why europeans want to come to the U.S. when they get a serious illness. And if it is so good, then why has our own congress decided to "opt" out of it? Think about the facts and quit being a socialist please. HC might need reforming but not with government help!!

  • I do think about the FACTS. You are the one being spoon-fed turdblossoms; you haven't even read the bill.

  • The whole post office analogy is moronic, and the people who fed it to you knew it was when they did that. Because they knew that ALL delivery agencies experienced financial setbacks due to the increased fuel prices last year, including UPS and Federal Express. Federal Express for instance had a paycuts and a hiring freeze & stopped the 401K; some of the pay cuts were 20%. And the people who didn't tell you that didn't tell you that on purpose. Sap.

  • Will someone please tell me where it says tax payers have to pay for meals, gas, maid service, and family vacations for elected officials? Just curious if I missed something about that in there.

  • People should form a committee to read the health bill and report back to them that way they will be better informed. Pay the committee members with all the damm money used on them signs.

  • medicaid is going bankrupt along with social security!!! old people have yet to realize that.... my generation isnt going to get shit!!!

instead of bitching and whining why dont these people offer solutions?

I guess it doesnt matter, America is bound to fall, sooner or later.

  • Shoulders the burden? Do you realize anyone who serves in congress keeps their insurance and pay for life after they retire? I'm sick of shouldering the burden for them and for illegal immigrants.

  • It's about sore losers/morons, who can't accept the consequences of their support of a criminal moron for the last 8 years. America thinks you're a lunatic fringe, and the private plan is on the way. Teabaggers take their instructions from insurance lobbyists, when they're not choking on cocks.

  • opposed to healthcare, hahah.

  • However, as a tax paying citizen, i do not feel my hard earned dollars should line the pockets of people who think they can make poor decisions on my part. I am an American, and I believe in what our country was based on. Not what it's become. Bring back the constitution and give the power back to the people!

  • I deffinately feel that I shouldn't have to pay for illegal immegrants. The hospitals and doctors did not pad certain costs, ( I'm sorry tylenol should not cost anymore in a hospital than it does at walmart) and more regulations are in place to monitor the outstanding cost of insurance and treatments, there may a means to a reform.

  • That isn't anywhere in the bill. There is simply an anti-discrimination provision that applies to employers who can't deny coverage to their employees based on race, religion, etc.. It is a standard clause that has been purposely mischaracterized.

  • I'm sorry. My husband and I own our own business. We cannot pay for private insurance because it is too expensive. We have a hard enough time raising our children with the money we have left after paying so much in taxes, to have to worry where that money is going. I do not feel I should have to be given universal treatment, but I do feel that my tax dollars should not be making it easier for those who are in the upper class or the ones who choose to seek employment tto better themselves.

  • Somebody said "It's all about power" that is exactly correct.

  • How impatient of them. "Where's Claire?" People will start controversy over anything.

  • fat, old, white, trash

  • These people are scary: rude, agressive, ugly.

  • The federal government is attempting to take over their (and our) lives they have good reason to be a bit aggressive.

  • Thank you, Show Me state!

  • most missourians are union lovin lefties

  • France has universal healthcare. They just made major cutbacks last week. People were protesting in the streets.

I don't know for sure, but I can't help but feel that we might head in the same direction if the bill is passed.

  • They are all so chubby! So cute!

  • Sorry. Don't see it you elitist snob. Go have another latte, read the NYT, and leave us the hell alone here in fly-over country.

  • Great video, interesting from every aspect.

  • Why is there so much zoo noises? I want these people to die. Goddam uneducated white trash.

  • Ha, I'm from St. Louis and I think it shows that people are revolting, whether you agree with their opinions or not, its a sign of the times. If you raise taxes, start wars and reduce liberties, people eventually revolt. Its irrelevant who they voted for last election! They are people, individuals! And they are American, not white trash. You sound like trash!

  • They are trash, trust me on this. No self respecting citizen behaves like this

  • No you are right! Instead people who support this just beat up people both black and white who oppose the bill. I'm from STL and we are furious with government take over in all aspects of our lives. We are against tyranny! you seem to like being a slave to this admin! Grow up little boy! They are trying to ram this down our throats when we obviously don't want it. THEY work for US! We are NOT THEIR SLAVES! Go back to sleep now you sheeple...have some kool aid too! LOL! Craziness.....

  • Are you going to privatize the army and police too soon? Private security companies can be hired to do this job. Blackwater for example. Lets lower the taxes to 6 percent so socialism can be minimized in the US.

Socialized medicine isnt that bad.. really.. you could call it christianized medicine if it makes you feel better.

Your country is going to hell if you dont rein in these deficits by increasing the heat on FAT private insurance companies, inefficiency etc.

  • You know what craziness is? Being a slave to an insurance industry that has no competition, raises its rates each year while lessening its coverage at the same time. Craziness is when working people can't afford the insurance if they have dependent. You know what craziness is? That you're against a a bill that is offered in accordance with the laws of each state and you're calling it slavery.

  • Well, maybe if you'd actually read it instead of having Fox News and commentators who get their paychecks mainly from the health care industry, you wouldn't be such a sap.

  • Why are these mostly white people,,,I'm white too...'but this is crazy,,,,how many are so afraid, like they are going to become inslaved or something,,,such idiots,,,, yes our system is messed up and needs changing,, lets yell and not listen,,, that's all they do is yell, ON RADIO AND T.V what a bunch of whiners, UNAMERICAN.....I would love to debate anyone of them,,,,cause they are just stupid,,,,

  • I think your question should be "Why aren't there more black people?" This was an open forum. ALL of the public was invited to attend. Do black people in St. Louis not care enough about the health care issue to have their voices heard?

  • WHERE IS THE STASIE? (secret police)

  • the great awakening

  • If anyone has any doubts that illegal

    "president" Osama's ultimate goal is

    socialized medicine FOR ALL, they should check out y o u t u b e (period) c o m / w a t c h ? v = p - b Y 9 2 m c O d k & f e a t u r e = p l a y e r _ e m b e d d e d

    Case closed!

  • She sent a representative instead....

  • Where's Claire?

  • Probably being told to hide until September house votes.

  • Way to go St Louis. Keep it up do not stop at this event. Get her on Aug 11th.

A bunch of people you did not elect are covering.

The heath care system is not in need of dire reform. It is the best system on earth!

You all are listening to folks who have taken the blue pill.

The first speaker repeats "Heath Care" over and over and not "Health Insurance" which is the only problem as destroyed by Senator Kennedy in the 1970's when he created limited options and choices with HMO's.

  • Agreed! Keep the system and make it better instead of getting rid of it and doing something that other countries have failed on.

  • They are affraid to go in front of their constituents, wait till election time!

  • OH Yeah, It's coming like a plague!
