Twenty years ago the animation would have been passable. It's a shame this bombed, then again that's what happens you try to jam at least two movies worth of stuff into a single film (like the Last Airbender).

I wouldn't pick Depp for Raistlin. His voice is too smooth. Weiss and Hickman always talk about his raspy voice hissing. Depp's too much of a gentlman villian if you think about it. Obviously he does a great pirate. But he'd be better off as one of the lords. Even a highlord.

yeah, they should. and they should do it well, unlike the previews on youtube that iv seen for one. in that, the blue crystal staff is obviously made of wood, and painted blue. they seem to have done a fair job on raistlin, but hes the only one.

In the books the staff is crystal when Mishikal allows it to activate, but described as "a nondescript wooden staff" when it's not activated. Why would it be painted blue when it's disguise is being a plain wooden staff? It's supposed to trick people, if you think about it. An example is the scene with the draconians. They touch it and BAM, blue fire and crystal staff.

but yes, Raistlin's the only decent character. And the staff, lol.

The animation isn't great, but the voice cast is grade A. Give it a shot--if it goes over well, they'll get a bigger budget for the next one.

If you saw the budget for this movie you would have choked on your words. They hardly had enough money to pay the actors. If you want a real movie and (it was a good attempt with what they had surely) not something along the lines of He-man animation write a letter to some producer in Hollywood.

...Still blows my mind Eragon get's a multi-million dollar budget for a book series that was written by the author when he was 10 and Dragonlance get's...this. ='(
