When they are stunned like that, Sushie CAN attack, so you didn't have to waste turns.

It's a good thing you got the Fire Shield! It actually reduces most of the attacks by 1, which means without it, the main guy does 5 and the little ones do 4 each... that's 13 damage per turn as supposed to 10 with the Fire Shield. It also protects you and allows you to jump on the boss in the 2nd stage, when you normally can't, like how Spike Shield protects you from spikes. However, Ice Power and Fire Shield are only good for this chapter, so go ahead and remove them.

After Peach time, you're heading into one of the easier levels, but tougher bosses. You're mostly running around getting items, shouldn't be too bad. Be prepared for an evil boss - make sure you go in fully charged, have plenty of healing items, and lots of patience, it's gonna be long!

A few quick notes, if you don't mind:

-The Ice Power and Fire Shield badges let you jump on flaming enemies.

-The Zap Tap badge lets you jump on electrified enemies.

-The Hammer Throw badge might come in handy; there are airborne enemies in the next chapter, and your hammer's the stronger weapon right now.

-Have an item slot or two open; there are required common items in Chapter 6.

-Chapter 6's boss is tough. Be fully prepared.

Equipping those badges wouldn't let lucahjin jump on Lava Piranha during the second stage when it's on fire; that's what the Ice Power badge is for.

Although, I think she did have it equipped, but forgot about it in the boss fight.

About that lady who helps you in battle (Merlee): When she increases your Star Points, she doubles the amount of Star Points that you earned in that battle. It's not like she adds extra star points or anything, so if you only earned 2 star points, you'll get 4.

lucah, just warning you the boss of chapter 6 is really difficult so my advice is to level up as much as you can theirs a special enemy in the area your heading to next that gives TONS of starpoints Thumbs up so she can see!

@315dragonfire I used Watt to turbo charge Mario during only this and the final battles. Sometimes, you can just be so pro with the timing that you don't need to resort to special powers all too often. Additionally, it helps if you're playing a Virtual Console version instead of an emulator, which is prone to lag issues.

Pro tip: in the room where Kolorado jumped off the cliff like a dumbass, when you take the zipline, there is a part of the wall as you're going down that it lighter than the rest of it. Let go of the zipline there and you get a Super Block :D

youre doing squirt wrong what you do is hold down A and press it repeatedly at the end so that it stays at the dark red area, but down make it reach all the way to the right

I'll admit, I was raging so much during that fight. This is all useless information to you now, but in case you ever play through it again...

1. Don't use the snowman doll during the first phase, he's not on fire yet, so it does regular damage. It does more damage during the second phase.

2. When stunned during the second phase, none of the are on fire, so your partners CAN touch him, like with belly flop.

3. You could have jumped during the second phase thanks to fire shield and ice power.
