cool game overall, but man did they really set out with the intention of making the worst ui/ai/pathing in history? I swear no one can make a decent product without totally wrecking some aspect of it to the point of broken. So sick of this bs.

MoW is the best game when you try to control small ammount of troops. You can actually concentrate to the smallest details (like what will each unit be carrying) and even 1 unit can make a huge difference if you control it well enough. But when your unit number goes to 10+ it becomes hard to keep everything under control. CoH however allows you to keep bigger army, but its not so detailed... I personally love both games, theres enough differences

@9puddingman9 from that statement I have to wonder if youve even played men of war ,,, its much more realistic for one, you have to call reinforcements off the map (if they're available) rather than manufacture them on site in a few seconds, you dont have to collect resources, you have to actually use tactics to win, for example taking on a tiger tank by circling it with a sherman is not an option, it wont even register ... in other words no they arent the same....

It's the best strategy game in IIWW for me =D 5/5 tips? hmm 1.stay in cover 2. eliminate soldiers how quiet is it possible 3.If you must go to checkpoint do it but be carefoul and be like shadow 4.Don't go all soldiers on the germans 5. And the most important tip! Be patient and all the moves Think carefully!... This tips help me very much and game wasn't so difficult for me ;]

I love MOW. I know some people with certain system configurations have trouble running it smoothly...sucks.

The COH vs MOW thing...I only played the demo for COH -- I decided not to buy it. Looks nice/plays smooth, but reminds me of RTS games I've yet to play...like Dawn of War and World in Conflict.

I think of MOW as an RTS with focus on tactics/management. It's very unforgiving, especially in multiplayer, so get some practice in. The details of the gameplay mechanics are impressive!

Assault Squad standalone expansion pack will have skirmish mode for singlerplayer and multiplayer, I can't wait for that! MoW has been my favorite game, including Red Tide. I really enjoy playing WWII RTT games like Sudden Strike, Blitzkrieg, and Men of War. They're SO much more fun than your typical base building RTS like Company of Heroes.

@killeraxe344 i beg to differ men of war is superior in many ways first off every soldier has an inventory and all guns have limited ammo so you have to scavenge more ammo. if your cut off you can't call in reinforcements so you have to keep the soldiers you given alive. tracks can be shootout halting a vehicle completely. if a grenade is thrown at a soldier he'll try to dive out of the aoe there are tons of other reasons why but i have limited characters but overall men of war is superior sorry

@killeraxe344 Play both games and then comment. CoH got nothing on MoW. Graphically and physically MoW is much better than CoH. Also in this game EVERY soldier counts and you play with what you get, unlike CoH where you need to build units and all that crap. Tank battles is also much better in MoW as you can destroy tanks in very many ways and for a Sherman to knock out a Tiger head on is pretty much impossible, unlike CoH a sherman can take out a tiger head on with like only 2 shells.

@killeraxe344 (cont) If you shoot at sloped armors like the front of the T-34 shells can even bounce off and hit something else, maybe an enemy soldier if your lucky.. You also got different ammunition, armor piercing and high explosives. You can also knock out tanks from big distances and all cannons on tanks got different ranges, unlike CoH you need to like be 5 meters from your target before you can shoot at them. Playing this game, you will realise how bloody and scary war is.

@ArmorDonZ You can't really compare the two.... They're both RTS in world war 2 but that's where it ends. You build buildings in CoH but in MoW you call them in off map.

Flamethrowers/molotovs blow up tanks in two secs, or at least burn the crew/engine. Repairs are made in front of damaged parts, and quite long. Ammo isn't unlimited. Vision and camoflage are improved. Soldiers can move over like barriers or small walls. They dont leave cover senselessly ( a grenade would make them run ). Mgs are mgs and deadly, in a tank or not. And so on.

@chump001 Depends. CoH is much more focused on inlaying a previous gametype into a WW2 setting(Control Points), and features light strategic features. Meanwhile, Men of War is much more focused on real life tactics, and much more realism. Destroying parts of buildings have actual consequences, and except for a few game modes in MP, you don't have to capture any flags, etc.

I bought this game over steam and it is great. Only thing is that I'm missing part of the info bar below. It doesn't show what weapon/skill/ammo level a unit has when I click on it. Also I have no icons in inventory menus when I search a dead soldier. Anybody know this problem?

Company of heroes OF/TOV and Men of War

and if i compared them company of heroes is good only on graphics but above all else Men of War is the best especially its physics, can't feel world war 2 without Japan and Soviet so if your thinking to buy this game its worth buying,

you wont be able to see what I am saying if your just watching it

I've played the Demo of Men of War and I've also played Company of Heroes.

Battle of the Bulge is a mod that gives the much needed realism to COH, but but I also feel that COH simply's got a better atmosphere and more exciting gameplay.

Haven't gotten to try MOW for real though.

Company of Heroes is a spectacular game that uses tactics in simple, easy-to-pick-up ways.

Men of War can get retardedly complicated sometimes, but it offers you realism if you don´t mind figures and animations being a little less detailed.
