  • Hillbilly rednecks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i do this all the time in south louisiana frog grab and a regular spear. sometimes wit my bow too.

  • I usually bowfish for them too but i take my gig along too for the really close ones or just for a little variety. If you dont have a completely set up boat and you have a person holding the spotlight, the gig is easy for that person to use so they can get fish too.

  • We usually bowfish for them. Do use the fish gig or the frog gig? I'd like to try this a time or two.

  • I have used a frog gig head and a fish gig head. I presently use a fish gig head. They both work but the frog gig head has a tendency for the prongs to break. It is a lot of fun, sometimes i ride at the front of the boat with the spot light traveling between spots and spear them as we are riding, its pretty cool

  • I do it anywhere I can find gar. This specifically was on a canoe trip one of my friends took me on in a stream(i dont remember its name, sorry) somewhere in north Alabama. I usually do it while I'm bowfishing. Its a good way to get the gar that are close to the boat and it gives a little variety.

  • My friend in Louisiana told me how he used to gig gar when he was young. Where about are you doing this?
