It seems too much oil was used to coat the internal engine parts during assembly. Excessive smoke on first start up is quite normal and will not burn off until the bike is ridden. I have done many two stroke rebuilds.

trust me, this fucker has WAY too much oil to gas mixed here, it will fowl his spark plugs very very shortly.

It's funny that americans make 2-strokes illegal, but make trucks with 6litre 200hp turbodiesel engines that do 20-30L/100km when they could be reliable with 3litre 200hp turbodiesels doing 10-15L/100km.. Bring 2-smokes back and ban the big diesels eh?;)

If you think a TUNED 800nm/6-8litre is strong, take a look at bmw 3litre 272hp diesel with 580nm stock :)

@eamh2002 2 strokes will make a comeback. Just need to work on electronic direct cylinder injection and piston ported supercharged with a wet sump. Then 2 strokes wont burn oil, wont waste fuel and save lots of energy from valvetrain loses and that extra revolution.

I have a rd 350 YPVS 31k in red and white that has been a prodject for the last 7 years, not to far to go now just puting it back together and then im going to put it on tube. iv always wanted a 500 but they cost around the same as my gsxr1000. that is a lovely bike.

When you start it up you'll have to hold your breath for a while hahaha. Best bike ans scarriest bike there is. My bike has a broken piston at the moment. When it is rebuild i'll put some vids on my a51stef channel. PS. this bike has the same colour scene as mine. You don't see them a lot in this colour here in the Netherlands. Most of them are white or yellow.
