i know this car isnt an STS kit, but i saw a lot of comments posted about them. personally, i think they are poorly designed, and i dont know why anyone would want one.
lol i find it funny how certain people think turbocharging american mucle is "ricey" or "wrong" we've been doing it WAAAY before the japs have on production cars. just to name a few, ford 2.3L SVO mustang, Grand National GNX, oldmobile cutlass jetfire.. not to mension that the P47 thunderbolt, and american WWII aircraft, had a turbosupercharger (both a SC and a turbo!) so how the hell is that Ricey?? its legendary is what it is.
@Munky332 Didn't Pontiac also have a Trans Am Turbo charged? Like a 80 or 81. They used a 301 or something like that. Never thought that car to be "ricey" either.
is he using an STS?? i cant see the turbo under the bumper as he drives by..i believe its a traditional front mount turbo system..i could be wrong..also the STS systems doesnt utilize a FMIC..you can put one on it but i really doesnt need it..but a front mount turbo systems needs one cuz of the hotter air in the engine bay
@FirebirdBuco On the website they say you dont need an intercooler, but that it bogus. even a small intercooler has the cooling effect of a couple hundred feet of piping. but it also depends on how fast that air is moving.
thats tru..if i owned an STS i would run a FMIC it wouldnt hurt..but they state that the length the boost travels back to the front of the car from the rear allows the air to cool just as well as a FMIC..the pipe diameter is also a little smaller to help reduce lag..if it was 3" pipes back to the front of the car the boost would get lost in the pipes and essentially never make it to the intake manifold..thus causing some serious lag..but with a smaller pipe diameter the boost can travel faster
thats how this system differs from a traditional front mount turbo system..alot of ppl say STS system would produce nothing but lag but paired with a V8 where you have that low end power and then boost on top of that..they are proved horribly wrong..ur at full boost by 3k and it just builds from there
@FirebirdBuco have you ever had a sts kit or been in a car with one. yea on top end there good but from a dead stop they suck i had one i sold it and went to a 383 i would never go back to a sts thats why i went to a twin turbo frount mount and for the air intake temp issue there not cold enough as a intercooler i run a water to air and i can reach 33 degree at the air intake senor

puttin any thing wit turbo on American Muslce is sad! Thats why its muscle it doesnt need turbo or superchargers that shit is weak. Let it run all motor like muscle should be run! NOOBS
So top fuel is sad? The new ZR1 is sad? The new Super Snake is sad? I could go on and on listing American muscle that utilize turbos and superchargers, but that would be a waste of my time since obviously you know nothing about performance motorsports, tuning, or cars in general.
How much power you putting to the ground???? What year is your car...How are you tuning this car and at what boost you running. I am finishing up a 93 STS turbo wit ha GT70 turbo running 12-15psi. Had to run a stand alone FAST X computer.
thats...thats insane!

@spoonDRT 1977 through 1981 if i recall correctly that the 301 pontiac turbo was used, and it was used in various cars if i remember right.
