  • I think doing it in black and white was a great idea. It gave it just the right touch..Keep up the great work...I hope no one was injured in the production of this video....

  • @myvideosbydt Hi, Thanks for the post and nice comments. Our Roundhouse locos are really fantastic and make excellent 'stars' for our little videos. They are all very strong and stand up to lots of hard work. All locos survived to steam another day without any dumps, scratches or damage. Hope you keep watching!

  • The editing and filming were excellent, keep up the great work!

  • @SCL3618 Hi, Thanks for the great comment. We always like to hear from our viewers. This is one of my favourites. Although our Thomas videos are the most popular, it's really the Roundhouse live steam locomotives that we enjoy running and filming the most. Hope you keep watching!

  • Bravo! I think Spielberg should take you on his team. Superb !

    Philippe

  • @PhilbruProduction Hi, Wow!!! What a wonderful thing to say. Thanks so much. The PTJ lads will be delighted. Keep watching!

  • Wow!really good job!!

  • @reesebwhitehead Hi, Thanks for the post. Glad you like this as we have another disaster movie coming along very soon. This time it's a Thomas video and will involve lots of smoke! Keep watching!

  • Yet another classic tale! Simple, yet effective storytelling, with a fab choice of soundtrack. Real drama and excitement in this story, with some great camera shots of the people warning of danger, and Silver Lady and Jack on the way to the rescue! Great ending as well. How did you pull off the Sandy River accident?

  • @MrDCWood Hi, Great comment! Well, one thing always leads to another on Pine Tree. We meet up on Wednesdays, start out with an idea and then see how it goes. Sometimes we have a shooting plan but things usually work out. If not, we fix things in the edit. Sandy River just came off the track so the rest of the video followed on. We usually start with the music and then cut the video to the beat. The black and white was a last minute thing with this one. It's all great fun so keep watching!

  • @PineTreeJunction

Forgot to mention, really loved the Pump Truck featuring here!

  • @MrDCWood Hi again, Yes. That's the beauty of having a 45mm live steam track that you can run power through as well. All our track can be powered to run electric engines and things like our Bachmann gandy men. The kids just love these as they pump up and down around the garden. Great fun! Keep watching!

  • what track do you use, im wanting to design a layout but not sure what track, p.s your video's are all fantastic

  • @spirithair Hi, Thanks for the post. Glad you like our videos. We use Peco 45mm track which is great. We have had no trouble at all with it and most has been down for over three years. It's really strong and you can walk all over it with no damage. The track and the plastic sleepers are very strong, easy to cut, join and use. Highly recommend it. Hope you keep watching!

  • where did you get the silver lady and jack

  • @Christopher23111111 Hi, Thanks for this. All our live steam locomotives are made by Roundhouse Engineering in Doncaster, England. They have a website - do check it out. They make fantastic locos which will last a life-time. They export all over the World so there will be a distributor near you somewhere. Keep watching!

  • where did you get the silver lady and jack

  • @Christopher23111111 Hi, Thanks for the post. Our 'Silver Lady' and 'Jack' live steamers are made by Roundhouse Engineering based in Doncaster England. They are just fantastic and I would recommend them highly. We get them from a garden railway shop called Glendale Junction. The owners are are very helpful and they have a garden railway in their back garden so you can see things running. Hope this helps. Keep watching!

  • Poor 24... good job Roundhouse build them strong. Yet another get video..

  • @mikespall Hi, Thanks for this. It's all in the editing. Roundhouse make fantastic miniature steam locomotives which I guess will last a lifetime. Sandy River is just a superb loco and looks fantastic from any angle. Now we have fitted a Summerlands Chuffer from Chris Bird, she also sounds brilliant. Thanks for the comments and hope you keep watching!

  • One question, Are these live steam?

  • @Trainfanz Hi, Thanks for the post. Yes. All three of our locomotives are real 'live' steam and are made by Roundhouse Engineering in Doncaster England. They are fantastic and work like a dream. They make steam by heating rain water in their copper boiler which then powers the pistons and drives the wheels. They are all radio controlled, very well made and worth the money for such a great example of British live steam engineering.

  • @PineTreeJunction Kay

Also, Ironicly, Silver Lady is red.

    (hehehe)

  • @Trainfanz .and so she is. Roundhouse make their 'Silver Lady' locomotive in any of their eleven stock colours. They used the term 'Silver' to mark their 25 years of making miniature steam locomotives. Hope you keep watching!

  • @PineTreeJunction yet again, i shall

  • @Trainfanz Excellent!

  • All is well that ends well, First class movie, like the old days with the Saturday Matanee, to be continued

  • @howarth004 Hi David, How's that wonderful model railway of yours? For folks of a certain age, those Saturday mornings at the local cinema leave a lasting impression. I think we are all movie makers at heart and given the opportunity, want to recreate the good old days in black and white. The garden is beginning to look very colourful again so lots of distractions like giant daffodils. We also turned down the contrast to give the movie a shallow depth of field. Anyway, hope you keep watching!

  • Thanks. I enjoyed

  • @65patbill Hi Bill, Good to hear from you. How's things in Oregon? Glad you liked our latest mini epic. Over the winter we had to come up with stories that don't require shots of the garden as things have been dull and uninteresting. So we started to make some little dramatic movies with low down shots of the trains and close-ups of the locomotives. Folks seem to like them so we are thinking how we come up with some good ideas although they will still all work out fine in the end. Keep watching!

  • I like the Star Wars music!

  • @TrainzFanNumber1 Hi, The music is good. It's not Star Wars but comes from Apple's iMovie'11 and Garage Band. We add things to it such as sound effects and extra music tracks to make it sound dramatic. We also have to make the music fit the video so sometimes we have to lengthen or shorten a track. It's fine to use this music as Apple make their software for folks at home to make movies so it doesn't get taken off YouTube. Hope you keep watching!

  • @PineTreeJunction Right, I do like it though.

  • @TrainzFanNumber1 Great.

  • Nice work! Well done definitly.

  • @TrainzFanNumber1 Hi, Thanks for the post. We are pleased how it all worked out in the end. Out of all our videos, the ones where something happens seem to be popular with folks. Although we enjoy running our Roundhouse live steam locos the best, our younger viewers seem to like watching our Thomas videos the most with some of them not far short of 100,000 views. We have just received James the Red engine so expect lots of new videos with him and his friends Thomas and Percy. Keep watching!

  • awesome, loved it.

  • @TodMcInerney Hi,Thanks for the comment. Glad you liked our latest little drama. We will have to start to make some nice quiet little videos now rater than these loud and dramatic mini epics. It takes us about three weeks to work out, film and edit one of these as we only meet once a week. Now the spring flowers are out and the leaves are beginning to come on the trees you can expect some slow and gentle travelogue movies as the trains admire the scenery, just like the North American railroads.

  • Amazing work the crash was very well done 10/10.

  • @cactus190706 Hi, Thanks for the post. So glad you like our latest effort. It was great fun to do and to edit. No harm came to any engineers or locomotives. It's all in the filming and the edit. I am sure we shall be out with the camera again soon so hope you keep watching!

  • That was brill, I love how you handled the scene of the logs tumbling onto the tracks :)

  • @TheBlueE2 Hi, Thanks for the post. It was a 'one shot' thing as we had to leave the logs as they fell. It worked out just right so when Sandy River came out of the South Tunnel she just slipped over on her wheels. Most of the wheels stayed on the track so all we had to do was trip her back over onto the tracks and off she went. The driver and fireman were still on so we had to cut them out of the frame. No harm came to the loco or anything else. It's all in the edit, as they say!

  • very nice!

    quite enjoyed it!

  • @ThomastheE2engine Hi, Thanks for the post. We really enjoy making these little videos and have some great fun charging about the garden with a camera, tripod, gas, oil and a remote control. We have made some soft kneelers to get down close to the ground. It must look funny but it's all worth the effort in the end. Hope you keep watching!

  • @MrTrainman12 Hi, Sounds great. It's spring over here in the UK so the flowers are out which is why we used black and white. Let us know when you have finished your video. Keep watching!

  • What is this instrumental music called?

  • @Woytek101 Hi, Thanks for the post. We use Apple's iMovie'11 to edit in with Garage Band for the music and sound tracks. This music is in iMovie'11 as one of the new trailers. They are played by the London Symphony Orchestra so it's great to have such a world class orchestra playing behind our little videos. Hope you keep watching!

  • ... everytime nice story ...

  • @wwwfrankwww Hi, Thanks a lot. We keep trying to make things that always work out in the end. No idea what's coming next so hope you keep watching!

  • I love this video! Very suspenseful and thrilling! :D

    -Rob

  • @RobertMProductions Hi, Good to hear from you. Glad you liked our latest little movie. It's difficult to keep coming up with ideas that we can get away with. We will keep trying if you keep watching!

  • Another great video!!! Certainly gave me the push to put a smoke generatore in my Hornby Thomas...........Have you ever thought of doing a Back To the Future theme????? Just a thought I had that a 1:24 scale delorean could be made to fit......made one for our clubs O gauge but whether it works is another story

  • @JamesBondsSkyline Wow! 'Back to the Future!!!' Now that's an idea. Flying engines on Pine Tree Junction. You will have to keep watching now!

  • @PineTreeJunction certainly will!!!

  • @JamesBondsSkyline Great!

  • What music is this playing? It sounds a bit familiar to me.

  • @Kanefan701 Hi, Thanks for the post. The music is from Apple's iMovie'11 trailers edited in Garage Band with some extra sound tracks and music loops. It's so easy to use and you get great effects. Hope you keep watching!

  • Awsome keep up the good work!

  • @LegoArtsProduction Hi, Thanks. We will do our best! Not sure we shall be doing any more disaster movies for the while. Hope you keep watching!

  • This music just positively screams "Incoming train crash!"

    Great job! :D

  • @crazyracer12 Hi, Thanks for the post. The ideas comes first, then we film, and then we choose the music to edit. It's all in Apple's iMovie'11 and Garage Band. It' so easy to use and you get great results. Glad you liked it and hope you keep watching!

  • A very dramatic film specially the music track to this one.

  • @penninefilms Hi, Thanks for the post. Glad you like our latest effort. Not sure we can keep up this disaster thing! Engineer Watkin was talking about dynamite this week! Not sure the good lady of the house would allow that. The music is from Apple's iMovie'11 and Garage Band. It works really well and is easy to use. Hope you keep watching!

  • @PineTreeJunction Thanks for your reply to my comment.

  • @penninefilms Fine. Keep watching!

  • awesome as usuall, you do seem to have a high accident rate, carefull Health and safety might make a visit!

  • @Encore1332 Hi, Thanks for the post. Good to hear from you! Yes - you are right. I know all about Health and Safety. I used to do it - many years ago. Fortunately, our garden railway is set in the North American 1900s when 'a man had to do what a man had to do! No animals, engineers, locomotives or logs came to any harm. Risk assessments checked, signed, dated and in the book for inspection. Hope you keep watching!

  • Black and white top, moving music.

  • @reitoe Hi, Thanks for the post. We decided to use black and white to blend the different shots together. The garden is looking very colourful at the moment so it didn't really fit the mood of the movie. As our garden railway is based upon a North American mountain railroad of the early 1900s, the black and white film style seemed to fit. The music is from Apple's iMovie and Garage Band software. It's fantastic to use and very easy to make something like this. Hope you keep watching!

  • very, very good. you should make a "behind the scenes" vid of this

  • @speedracer456v Hi, Now there's a thought. We are talking about doing some kind of behind the scenes but it will take some time. Not sure folks would really like to see how it's all done. It may be better just to keep the mystery of the mini movies. Hope you keep watching!

  • Hope the engine was all right.

  • @ATKFOH3 Hi, Thanks for the post. It's OK. Sandy River No 24 is fine. It was all staged so there was no chance of her coming to any harm. Not even a scratch! Roundhouse miniature locomotives are extremely strong and will take any sort of hard treatment. They last for years and years so are great to use in these kinds of videos. You have to know what you are doing but it's all trick camera work. Hope you keep watching!

  • awesome man!! i love your videos mate, and this one was epic! thought the smoke would have put the wood on firee

  • @10LEIGH10 Hi, Thanks for the post. Glad you like our latest disaster video. It was very hot when Sandy River crashed into the logs. The gas was turned off so no chance of any fires. It was just the steam blowing off through the pressure value. We don't know if it would all work out but it looks fine. Keep watching!

  • @PineTreeJunction oh yes i will :D

  • @10LEIGH10 Great!
