  • When Ron paul speaks its amazing how his rebukes and explanations are never challenged on the same intellectual level. Its as if they don't understand what he's saying or thinking "I didn't know that".This mans done his homework and knows what he's saying is something the people have a right to know. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

  • @blastaar7 Ron Paul actually wants to end the war on drugs also because he said it targets black people. He is very not racist. He would pardon non violent drug offenders and start treating people for addiction not putting them in prison where they learn to become violent offenders!!!

  • If you love your freedom vote for RON PAUL

  • @therighttokeeparms ron paul is a racist. Why on earth would i even dream of voting for him.

  • @Blastaar7 he is not a racist! dont listen to the lying mass medias like fox news, abc, and cnn. there all propogandas!

  • We should have people, that wish to run for president, take a test on thier knowledge of the United States Constitution. If they cant pass it, they cant run.

  • @lovechangengrowth we should have a questioner at the voting booth and if voters can't answer what someones running for they should not be allowed to vote

  • How come this guy O always UH AH UM ...... Did he really graduate from harvard or he just got the diploma from his Chicago Buddies?

  • @timngot I know right, i mean who the hell ever searches for words. Certainly not anyone who graduated from harvard.

  • Its amazing how all the right things for this country economically and socially coincide with the rights and abilities of the people and government given in the constitution.

    Ron Paul 2012

  • wow Ron Paul makes sence, everybody else fumbles on their words and actions.

  • As a proud liberal i'll be voting for Dr. Paul in 2012. Just registered as a republican to do so. He is the only current candidate I could vote for.

  • No, I'm NOT for the status quo. I support and participate in the Occupy Movement.

Yes, corporations have too much influence as do the wealthy. If you want to continue the dismantling of the middle class continue to deregulate the economy and environmental protections. Our economy is in the dump largely because of deregulation. And you want MORE of it? Sorry, we need MORE REGULATION.

I noticed you didn't even try to defend ron paul's denial of climate change. There's no defense.

  • @ReduceGHGs Ron Paul supports environmental protection but not in the way that government currently promotes it. It comes down to the basic principle that the market can always handle situations better than the government. It's very simple, and he, as well as I believe you don't have to sacrifice your liberties in order to protect the environment.

As far as increasing regulations I've already stated my views and there's extensive evidence that proves that model doesn't work...

  • @RLinares22 .

rp has been a denier of climate change despite the overwhelming scientific evidence to the contrary. You call that being a "supporter" of environmental protection? What will our future generations have if their habitat is allowed degrade because guys like ron paul CHOOSE to ignore the best science available? I said NOTHING about sacrificing liberties. We need to apply policies, laws, etc. to shift the way we generate and use energy AWAY from continued pollution practices.

  • @ReduceGHGs Lol this is hilarious, ask the all powerful government to protect us from pollution. Meanwhile Oil companies run legislation through their lobbying and keep us fixed on Oil as primary fuel source. Where as a free market would drive for the development of cleaner energy resources thus minimizing the biological footprint of every American. It's ludicrous to think that the govnmt will be able to do what they haven't been able to do for 40 years...

  • @RLinares22 Is your lack of information "hilarious"?

Do you know about the Clean Air and Water Acts? Did you know that rivers in the US caught fire BEFORE we applied regulations to control pollution?

Yes, the oil industry has far too much influence. It needs to be controlled (oh no, there's that liberty issue!).

To develop cleaner energy sources polluting activities need to be discouraged (taxed and regulated) increasing their costs. Cleaner alternatives need to be encouraged.

  • @RLinares22.

I know libertarians think that if carbon pollution is taxed or restricted, liberties are restricted and that's a bad thing.

There are many activities that you could participate in that affect the rights of others. Those that come after us have the right to a habitat that isn't unnecessarily degraded for our short-sighted interests.

Unless you live far away from all others and are fully self sufficient what you do affects others. You are NOT at liberty to do whatever you want.

  • @ReduceGHGs You're exactly right. And when someone pollutes your environment you can call the police and or another state governed entity. You don't need the Federal Government mandating all these things because they fail miserably. Every single time.

  • @RLinares22 .

Sorry, most carbon polluting activities (greenhouse gas emissions) are LEGAL. Laws and regs are not broken if they don't exit.

As a result, we need to regulate our economies so that our only habitat doesn't further degrade.

  • @ReduceGHGs

If you emphasize that as State Regulations, then I think you could garner some more thumbs up for yourself.

  • @Applesmaush .

Sorry, climate change knows no boarders. We need federal regulations and changes in foreign policy to meaningfully address climate change. For example.... Is it right that states that don't support emission reductions have a pollution cost advantage and continue to deteriorate our habitat (regional + global)? Should their ignorance permit them the TAKE from our future generations while the informed states respect the rights of those to come?

  • @ReduceGHGs

Perhaps states with a more lenient on pollution would have cheaper production costs, but property value, quality of life, tourism, and other factors would also drop with it. If states don't manage this issue well, they are likely to lose their constituents to other states. By allowing states to design their own regulations, we can test 50 different ways to achieve climate control, which we can use to see who has the best and then go from there.

    As good as federal mandate?

  • @Applesmaush Well, that sounds fine but we should deal with problems BEFORE the occur and not wait the more dire effects of climate change to change peoples' minds. We all have a vested interest in the health of the biosphere no matter who drew a state or country boundary where they did. Yes, we need local, state, federal, and international efforts for the sake of our future generations. They are at risk.

  • @ReduceGHGs

Well, to say we can't wait for that is laughable considering how long we've waited on our current policy. There's no reason why federal government regulations would be faster acting than the ones made by the states. Regulations at a federal level take time, are what leads to massive corruption, and rely on political games, regulations on a state level are less reaching, grant less power, and are more easily controlled by the people (ie. local = small = easy to change) : D

  • @Applesmaush .

I know there's no reason you can think of why fed action would be faster, more effective than the states. This just comes from a lack of information. Here's a paper that might help. Google: GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSION CONTROL OPTIONS

Going local is in our future one way or the other. I recommend it sooner than later and practice it as much as I can.

    Have a good one!

  • @ReduceGHGs

You can't force people to be informed, proactive, and preventative. It's just not in humans >_< They'll want their regulations after the sky is a noxious gas cloud, but no sooner.

    Have a nice one

  • @Applesmaush .

Yep! Humans may not have sufficient grey-matter capacity to act in their own long-term best interests. Short-term and immediate interests and greed may unfortunately spell disaster.

But, all we can and must do is try. It's a matter of self-preservation. Too bad ron paul can't (or won't) accept the science supporting climate change. Many listen to him. He could help rather than hinder progress.

  • This guy fields questions like Ryne Sandberg catching a bullet in his teeth.

  • Obama- Do we pay out SS checks or pay China ? Who choses ? He would not dare say pay SS Checks or pay interest on our debt to the Federal Reserve Bank. They hold ( 2011 ) OVER HALF of the nation debt. 24% held by foreign countries OF WHICH ONLY 6% by China.

  • watching a video of Ron Paul is like watching an episode of Mythbusters where all the myths get BUSTED. Obama is a myth. Ron BUSTED his ass. I WANNA SEE THEM DEBATE IN ONE ROOM! can you imagine? that's like superbowl-politics!!

  • Why does Ron Paul have an overwhelming majority of support from our military? Not to mention why does he have the most donations made by the public, and that the news media tries to block him out? People are waking up! Ron Paul 2012!

  • There passing a bill next week to militarize the United States so they can walk into your house anytime they want vote Ron Paul get these evil corrupted people out of our White House Fast !!!

  • It's not enough to say "Vote Ron Paul"

  • Ron Paul 2012 - Everyone else is bought and paid for by your friendly neighborhood corporate bank. Like if you agree.

  • Please elect Ron Paul in 2012!!! He is our only hope. He is the only one who is not owned by Big Business.

  • 'We should send out a unified message to this guy that he should step down and give his people a fair chance to live their lives without fear'. The irony is almost unbearable.

  • @wilson1031 - YES, impeach him

  • as obama speaks he says 'no' but nods 'yes', its a classic tell,

  • Google: Senate vote Tuesday: Stop Rand Paul's attack on the Clean Air Act.

    .

Here’s an example of your ron paul NOT looking out for our best interests. He's acting like just another flea bagger!

  • Are you using this issue to score political points? Stupid question. Switching gears just to shut Dr Paul up so another Obama clip can go on, and the repeated interruptions by this reporter make it hard to understand how Ron Paul maintains patience and composure during interviews. He certainly has a gift for getting his points across without losing his cool and getting assertive and sometimes fired up only when he really needs to just be heard.

  • haha whenever he was getting deep into the real roots of the questions she asked she just changes the topic "switching gears sir, if we could for a moment" hahah in the middle of when he was talking 7:58

  • Bottom line: shut-up you stupid twit interviewer and let an honorable man talk!

  • The 8 dislikes are 8 people paid to dislike.

  • And Samantha you should probably read as well, and not talk about someone without knowing the voting record

  • So wait I'm a Nazi because I support Ron Paul? Maybe you should crack open a history book, look at the part on the 1920-1946. Then look at the part about 1760-1800. You are a fool and know nothing about anything. Learn to rationalize and stop the personal attacks

  • @samantha34ize You are already being robbed by your government. Come on man

  • @samantha34ize Ron Paul has beenextremely outspoken about the Bush war, that is why the Republicans cannot stand him and do not want to see him elected. He was against all those Unconstitutional Wars. You obviously do not have a clue in to who Ron Paul is and why people support him so infaticully!

  • bo is better than sarah palin mcain and that child fuking mormon for killing gadafi bin laden and anwar yemen terrorist he desver a sec chance that white devil monkey had 8 yr obamam deserve 16 yr fuk white ppl obamam is good for poor minoirty

  • @samantha34ize Obama is extremely wealthy and supports people of wealth. Patriotism is NOT Racism. I wish i could tell you that Obama supports people of color. He has relations with Pakistan, he has relations with Bildeburg, His bread is buttered by others, not people of minority and low income. He takes money from Special Interests. Research and find out, just because he has a darker skin does not mean you and i help line his pocket and pay for his childrens schooling!

  • Obama doesn't even understand the very constitution he serves.

  • @StratoBlaster420 He understands that he doesn't serve the consitution.

  • Ron Paul is the only person the media should focus on if they care about this country at all. They instead focus on him the least. The media supports the corruption, therefore they themselves are corrupt and should be invalidated by some form of communications commission.

  • If you do not SWITCH PARTIES in time, 12 weeks in advance OF THE PRIMARIES IN MOST STATES (starting Late January 2012) your vote does not count! If you are not REGISTERED REPUBLICAN you can not vote Ron Paul in the PRIMARY If Ron Paul does not win the PRIMARY, he has no chance to win the election. Be the "Trojan Horse" be the "mole", infiltrate the system. FIND OUT when your state has its primaries.

Prove that Cain's an idiot by not letting him take office.

    Copy and paste this everywhere.

  • The president doesn't even know the constitution? HOW ARE YOU PEOPLE NOT ANGERY????

  • If your Democrat or Independent, you must change your party to Republican in order for you to be able to vote for Ron Paul in the Primaries. If you don't do this, you can't vote for him in the final elections; or for that one of the other Republicans will win. So change your party.

  • America is under the microscope now

  • pickin and choosin??????? its hard to even laugh at now, obviously he doesnt know the law of our land. Hard to believe that the veteran, doctor, defender of the constitution, defender of whats mine is mine and whats yours is yours, the man that defends your money isnt a TOP tier candidate. hard to be american with so many wars ......im movin to australia our football isnt even the best anymore foooooooooootttttttttttttyyyyyyyyyyy :-)

  • Ron Paul is just adorable.

  • Only one step left, #8.

    God help us.

  • Ron Paul = Dr. QUACK!!!

    OBAMA 2012!!!!

  • @HoboGus You will be so heart broken in 13 months. Even if Ron doesn't take it, Obamao surely won't. Did you hear his quote the other day saying that he believes it is a presidential right to decide who constitutes a threat to this nation and that he can kill them if he considers them such a threat? Hope and change my ass!

  • @HoboGus Ya best get your thinking hat on. The time is near and you will become one of the quacks that the Fed's want , the CIA want. You will not have your T.V to go to every night and if you do you will only be watching their channels and be working harder than you ever can believe with you family in danger any given day. I would say do some more research and get the blinders off. Not everyone will stand up and fight they will be blind till the end. You better hope we win.

  • OBAMA 2012!!!!!!!!!!

  • Follow the Constitution.

  • Everyone,Go here and vote Ron Paul: foxnews (dot) com/on-air/oreilly/index.html Bill O'Reilly will be reporting the winner on his tv show, let's get Ron Paul some Publicity. Thumbs this up.

  • Everyone seriously needs to vote for ron paul.

This man HAS to get in.

He's a fucking genius and without him. american is doomed.

  • I heard O B O M B M A got impeach this morning? Is that true America?

  • @johnnycmajor He should be impeached by congress everyday until he is executed for crimes against humanity.

  • Ron Paul will be President in 2012. It must be, we still have a year lets make sure that everyone sees Ron Paul 2012 plastered all over their facebook and twitter feeds. I mean why not?

  • @drevenkaine

ron paul is certainly NOT what we need. In his rejection of evolution and climate change he chooses la la land rather than reality. We need leaders that understand where we came from, who we are, and what the future may hold. ron paul would rather stick his head in the sand rejecting science in favor of failed deregulation policies. What will he reject next, mathematics?

We the 99% don't want MORE corporate control of our economy but THAT is just what ron paul is advocating!

  • @ReduceGHGs

I don't think that Ron Paul's rejection of evolution or global warming taints his political beliefs.

  • Comment removed

  • @Moonhumming

Just the fact that he rejects the reality that science clearly describes should tell you more than enough about his judgement, his reasoning skills. If he can't come to a rational conclusion on these basic issues how/why would we expect him to make good reasoned political decisions?

Example, he wants MORE deregulation. It was deregulation that gave us Enron, higher risk financial markets, AND believe it or not, the Gulf Oil spill (no relief well well mandated). There's more.

  • @ReduceGHGs I understand what your saying and I definitely don't agree with all Ron Paul says, but I think your viewing this wrong. First, he doesn't "reject science". In his view, government shouldn't be involved in science and the evidence for or against something like evolution.

Second, his views on deregulation won't exactly lead to higher risk financial markets because the government wouldn't give any bailouts if they fail so they wouldn't have less incentive for higher risks.

  • @opszanski rp certainly rejects significant aspects of science. His said that he doesn't accept evolution or human-caused climate change. BOTH concepts are well grounded in science so yes, he rejects science.

Libertarian positions favor deregulation of the financial markets. It's that simple and it ADDS risk. There are many examples, derivatives for one. Their use was the result of deregulation. They played a significant roll in the recent economic crisis. No thanks again to rp!

  • @ReduceGHGs I don't really know exactly what Ron Paul's position is on climate change. I recall him calling it a hoax and other times he said it's a big problem. To be fair, I think he's just gotten bad information from other conservatives (like many Americans). His view on evolution is really the result of his religion. He's part of an old generation of thought and the idea of evolution is conflicting to something he has believed for 7 decades.

He's still is a wise person:

    /watch?v=2eiR_U8vhIo

  • @opszanski

After over 30 years of solid science, rp shows bad judgment or is dishonest about this. He shows bad judgment again as he pushes his libertarian/deregulation philosophy. Any leader that holds to a philosophy/belief that runs directly counter to the facts would put future generations’ health and well being at risk. w/cheney did that and it cost the lives of hundreds of thousands.

I do like some of his foreign policy and economic ideas but it's his foundation that's disheartening.

  • @ReduceGHGs Its illogical to say the any philosophy is wrong because there has never been a perfect example of it. There wouldn't be no regulations at all under his presidency. RP has stated himself that there would be regulations against fraud and says bank would only be allowed to lend out money they have. On top of this he stated no corporation would get bailed out for bad decisions. Again, I don't agree with this, but this whole "We're right they're wrong" mentality solves nothing.

  • @opszanski Based on the best evidence available rejecting science is not only wrong but stupid. The evidence also shows that a philosophy of continued deregulation of the economy and protection of our only habitat is self destructive.

Bail outs.. If a corporation was allowed to get too large (an example of inadequate regulation) it may be less destructive to the public to bail it out. They should therefore be regulated so that they NEVER become too big to fail; is this anti-libertarian?

  • @ReduceGHGs For the most part I agree with you, I'm more of a progressive than a libertarian.

It's a stretch to say all evidence supports you. Ron Paul practices Austrian economics. There was a severe depression in 1921. According to Austrian economists, the government responded by cutting taxes and deregulating. The depression ended within the year. Austrian economists like Ron Paul point to these examples as solutions over the great depression where government got involved and lasted longer.

  • @opszanski With only loose stock market regulations in place before the Great Depression, investors were able speculate wildly, buying stocks on margin, needing only 10% of the price of a stock to be able to complete the purchase. Rampant speculation led to falsely high stock prices, and when the stock market began to tumble in the months leading up to the October 1929 crash, speculative investors couldn’t make their margin calls, and a massive sell-off began.

  • @opszanski .

The "free" market has efficiency at its core NOT the public’s well being. People suffer with its boom/bust effects. The Glass-Steagall Act and many other gov measures were necessary for the sake of long-term prosperity. The social safety net prevented millions from needless suffering. Congress dismantled important aspects of Glass-Steagall (starting around 1980). Now the financial system, our economy, is at greater risk of wild swings. Your "free" market COSTS. No thanks rp!

  • @ReduceGHGs So you don't believe in the free market and capitalism, what do you believe will work?

  • @opszanski .

Capitalism is clearly the most productive. It just needs to be regulated so that it works long-term for We The People, including the 99%, not just the 1%. ron paul's "free" market has efficiency at its core NOT the health and well being of the public as a whole.

  • @ReduceGHGs Your straw manning the argument. Your implying that pure capitalism equals the 99% being screwed. The 1% is currently rigging the game against the 99%. That's not capitalism, it's crony capitalism.

  • @opszanski .

That's what happens when those with superior information, capital, and access are allowed to take advantage (legally in the "free" market) of those less advantaged; cronyism NOT excluded; income and wealth gap widens, middle class shrinks, environment degrades as resources dwindle, and future generations are put at risk. Your "free" market has efficiency at its core not the public's well being (the Common Good). Capitalism needs to be regulated for our long-term prosperity.

  • @ReduceGHGs You should do some research into "Classic Liberalism" and "The Federalist Papers".

  • @opszanski .

If you have a point to make, please do so. If it isn't worth posting then it isn't worth posting.

  • @ReduceGHGs Just some things any honest and open-minded person should research before arrogantly judging RP on his views.

  • @opszanski

Research? Been there & done that.

He's dead wrong about evolution, climate change, and the need for MORE deregulation.

No judging. Just the facts. rp is out of touch with reality. Opps! Is that a judgement?

  • @ReduceGHGs If you think Ron Paul is out of touch with reality you are probably the one that is out of touch with reality. He is the only one that doesn't get lobbied before he decides to stand for something. Even if you disagree with him on a few issues the fact is he is the only honest candidate in the race.

  • @StratoBlaster420 .

Human caused climate change is well supported by over 30 years of global scientific study. We humans are deteriorating our only habitat. THIS is reality that ron paul rejects. He is either uninformed, mislead, delusional, or a liar. Choose. Any way you cut it he would put future generations at risk. He may well be the most honest but he's dead wrong and NOT what we need.

  • @ReduceGHGs The points you made may be true but do you actually think there is a better candidate? A vote for anyone else is a wasted vote at this point. They are all bought and paid for by lobbying. Ron Paul is the only one with enough integrity to resist donations given to promote a certain message. He will bring all our troops home and end the war on drugs which are the two most detrimental US policies to human life. The war on drugs has killed over 50,000 and the war on terror over 1,000,000

  • @StratoBlaster420 .

Obama is far and away better than any of the "republicons" running. He opposed that ware initially and is doing his best to end it (them) responsibly.

I agree that we should end a good deal of the drug wars by legalizing some of them, pot specifically. It's now federal law so if you want it legal it will have to go through Congress.

No habitat = no life = no economy = no liberties = etc.

The foundation for EVERYTHING is a healthy habitat that rp would put at risk. No thanks.

  • @ReduceGHGs You just showed your stupidity right there. Obama is an absolute liar and traitor. You have to be a complete idiot to still support this crook. He has got us involved in MORE wars since he took office. He only talks about bringing troops home from Iraq. What about the several other war zones we are in? He is only saying this because he knows the American people are getting sick and tired of these wars. To put it bluntly, FUCK OBAMA! RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT!

  • @StratoBlaster420 Reducing your posts to name calling and vulgarity is telling.

Calling Obama a "liar and traitor" is baseless babble.

Keep looking for someone that cares what you think.

  • Comment removed

  • @StratoBlaster420 A repeat offender. yuck.

  • @ReduceGHGs How is the current economic environment a free market? It isn't even capitalism. We live in an environment of corporatism where corporations funnel money into the political environment and persuade the politicians to write laws that endanger our civil liberties and allow the end result to be corporate heads having their pockets lined with money...

The entire purpose of the free market is to spread wealth amongst the private sector. The solution is separation of state and economics.

  • @RLinares22 .

I did NOT define current econ as a "free" market. There's no such thing. It only exists in the minds and pipe dreams of libertarians.

Yes, we have capitalism with far too much corporate influence.

The "free" market idea is just more Trickle Down economics that benefits far too few at the expense of far too many.

The solution is MORE regulations. Corporate influence would only INCREASE with ron paul's philosophy of deregulation and "freeing" the market. No thanks.

  • @ReduceGHGs The very thing you're arguing for is what we have. Regulated economics and the economy is in shambles. True Free markets are structured in such a way that business are aimed at supplying the people with the best goods possible @ the cheapest prices. The fact th@ we have TOO MANY regulations in the present market place is the prime reason why we've changed from a producing economy to a consuming economy. Govmt regulations make it impossible for business 2 thrive leading to exportation

  • @ReduceGHGs Jobs leaving this country means less wealth, less capital, less jobs and less ability for the lower class to gain employment. Couple that with the FED printing money at will and the depreciating value of the dollar and you have a recipe for economic catastrophe. How can you sensibly argue that the regulations passed in the last 60 years towards the economy have done anything but hurt our nation, our dollar and endangered our way of life?

  • @RLinares22 .

Not regs, DEREGULATION of the financial sector hurt this country.

"Free" trade policy (another form of DEREGULATION) is the reason why so many industries left the US for places with low wages, low employment regulations, and poor environmental protections.

We need MORE regulation of the economy so that the corps that take advantage of lending and trading opportunities at the expense of the public will be prevented from abusing the system for short-term gains.

  • @ReduceGHGs THis Keynesian approach to the economic structure of our country is exactly what is driving us into the dirt. It's highschool economics and propaganda fed to you since infancy saying that we need the government to protect us. We need a sovereign leader to decide how we should handle our money & safety. Without them we are lost... When the truth is the environment where government gets involved with economy leads to the worst kinds of corruption and greed and destroys the middle class

  • @RLinares22 .

I have no interest in digging deep into economic theory be it Keynesian or ron paul's Austrian School of economics. Tax breaks for the wealthy, deregulation, and free trade all contribute to a widening wealth and income gap. This is a "top down" approach that doesn't work for too many.

    Google: ENVIRONMENTAL EXTERNALITIES. U. Sankar

Without a healthy habitat (it supports everything we have) civilizations fail and people suffer. THAT'S deregulation. Remember the burning rivers?

  • @ReduceGHGs Well if you don't want to dig into the laws of economy how can you make sound judgement on economic conditions of the market and how to best address them. I'm not disagreeing with you that there needs to be a change in the way things are going but we've had increased regulations for many years and we continue to have a dismantled middle class and an environment where Corporations fund the regulations being made in legislation. That system doesn't work and we're suffering with it now.

  • @ReduceGHGs I think if you are very serious about the progress and financial stability you speak of you may benefit greatly by reading some of Richard J Maybury's books principally "Whatever happened to penny candy?" It's a great book for people who are interested in economics and its structured in a fun way that highlights very important ideas about finance.

If you do read it please let me know what you think and whether it had an impact on your stance towards economy at all. Hope you like it

  • @RLinares22 .

For good books try Hot, Flat, and Crowded by Thomas L. Friedman.

I have no interest in reading a book written by a libertarian. The concept of a "free" market is a pipe dream. Capitalism must be regulated. Those with the capital, information, and access take undue advantage which expenses our long-term prosperity.

I remember when ron paul called global warming a "hoax". He can't rationally defend that belief but he's cornered by his support for a "free" market.

  • @ReduceGHGs I'm sorry you feel that way. I think you're exactly the product that the status quo wants out there in order to maintain things as such. We have the evolution of a regulated capitalistic structure and it's corporatism. If you really feel this approach is the right way to go then vote for Obama and continue to sacrifice your civil liberties and the value of the dollar. I'm sorry to say but I fervently believe it's the wrong approach.

    Good luck to you.

Ron Paul is a politician. As of late, climate change has become an incredibly politically charged area of argument. Because many of the efforts to protect the environment warrant increased governmental action, Ron Paul is against them. It is completely consistent with his political record. Likewise, his personal beliefs will in no way affect the way the nation's schools are run, or the way science is taught . The bureaucracy wouldn't stand for it.

  • @Moonhumming Among those that study the issue there is no credible argument. Yes, ron paul's rejection of climate change is a reflection of his politics, I agree. He doesn't want gov messing with the "free" market so he rejects the science saying we don't need gov regs or policies to address a non-existing problem. This is a rejection of reality. It makes him uninformed, delusional, mislead, or a liar. For self-preservation, our Common Good, dictates that we deal with this very REAL crisis.

  • @ReduceGHGs

The terms you use (uninformed, delusional, mislead, and liar) are strong accusations to describe someone who disagrees with you. Ron Paul is wary of governmental plots of power, and he sees climate change as one of those plots. Perhaps if private businesses were willing to work toward higher efficiency ratios (therefore increasing their profits) he would look at the issue differently. This is not the case. Most efforts at protecting the environment are government led.

  • @Moonhumming The terms (uninformed, delusional, mislead, and liar) are applicable. If you have another possible explanation for ron paul's denial of science let me know.

"Governmental plots of power" ?? What tha? You sound like a conspiracy theorist. Ugh!

    Government = We The People.

Governments do the environmental work because there's no profit it in for private enterprise.

Your ron paul REJECTS the fact that human-caused climate change is occuring. Yet you expect him to address it? What?

  • @ReduceGHGs

Ron Paul's political record clearly shows that he is against any federal monetary endorsement. It would be profitable for businesses to become more efficient. For instance, a company that lowered their power intake could significantly reduce their costs, and therefore increase profits. The government has obviously increased in power, and as much as you or I would like to believe it, not all of the people who claim they are in favor of legislation protecting the environment are

actually intending to follow through with their promises. They are politicians, and the way they get into power is by manipulating impassioned people like yourself. true advocates do not get elected because only a select few vote for them. Ron Paul is an example, and all of the Green Party candidates are others. They simply don't get elected. It is up to individuals to protect the environment (and individual businesses as well). No amount of federal regulation will change that.

  • @Moonhumming You don't appear to have any faith in people. Politicians are just people. Most are good, hardworking people trying to do an honest job and provide for their families. Unfortunately, many (mostly on the "right" side of the political spectrum) reject science because the implications mean more pollution controls. This runs contrary to their "free" market philosophies. ron paul is a good example of this. He would willingly put our only habitat at risk for his “free” market. No thanks.

  • @ReduceGHGs

Politicians are people, and like all people, they have to eat. They have to get elected in order to make money. I do not agree with all of Ron Paul's arguments, but I do respect him for standing up for something he believes in the face of public backlash. Elected politicians pander to the people in order to achieve high office no matter how honest the politician is. It's good that you recognized that politicians (you vilified the right) all tend to huddle in one group on certain

  • @Moonhumming .There are many politicians that hold indefensible positions despite public backlash. Does that mean we should respect them even though they are dead wrong and their policies would harm people? I don't care for the "right" because they all-too-often pander to corporations and the wealthy rather than for the benefit of We The People (banking deregulation and environmental policies for examples). On the "left" our needs (such as universal health care) are more likely addressed.

  • @ReduceGHGs

I remain unaffiliated politically, but to say that one side ignores the people while the other protects them is simply not the case. The political right and left both concede to the people's needs (those corporations emply millions, should they fail, millions would be unemployed). I don't exactly understand what you are saying in your third sentence. But, I still respect Ron Paul's tenacity.

  • @Moonhumming The right generally favors deregulating for the "free" market despite our deteriorating habitat and the need for things like universal health care and higher taxes on the wealthy.

I'm not a socialist. We need capitalism but it needs to be regulated for the sake of our long-term prosperity.

Again, ron paul's tenacity looks good but what about being dead wrong is admirable? I don't have ANY respect for someone that denies overwhelming scientific evidence.

issues. This further proves the corruption of party politics. I'm sorry Mr. (or Ms., I do not know) but to rely on politicians for environmental change is rather naive.

  • @Moonhumming .

You call me naive but it is a FACT that the only viabl
