That's just normal gerbil behaviour though they can quiet down as they get older. You can try offering them a sunflower seed and they may be still to eat that before buzzing off again.

I had 3 gerbils. One was in a ten gallon tank and the other two were in another. The two bred and their first litter had six gerblets. (My word for baby gerbils.) They then bred again and had 7 gerblets. We had to separate them and now I have 16 gerbils. I will film them and put them on here if you want to watch.

It's a Perfecto Habitat gerbil tank and the shelves are already in place when bought.

Do gerbils have to live in pairs or alone?. Saddly i have to get rid of one of my rabbits so im now aloud a hamster or a gerbil. Witch ones better due to handleing and playing with oh and tameness?

i have a dwarf hamster so i dont know how gerbils' behaviour is. i have heard that gerbils dont bite as much as dwarf hamsters. unless you have a syrian hamster, then i have no idea.

@xAllyCookx Gerbils should live in pairs. Gerbils are MUCH better to play with because they are awke during the day and are very curious. Get gerbils!

I Have 15 Gerbils :P There All Realy Nice I Lurvv Them All To Pieces :D I Have 5 Gerbaliums And One Normal Cage, The Normal Cage Only Holds 1 Gerbil, Nibbles I Got Her Alone Coz She Was Used To It And Cudent Be Put With Others And 3 Gerbils Go In A Gerbalium Each So 16 Gerbils 5 Germaliums 3 Each 1 alone gerbil in one cage

You just have to be patient and offer them treats, especially sunflower seeds. Eventually shy gerbils will associate you with very nice things to eat.
