Are the 9.9hp and 15hp powerheads made by Tecumseh? I know the smaller hp ones are (7.5hp and down).

Yes they are. Mine has a tecumseh tag on it.

i have a 7.5 gamefisher and put it out by the curb and no one would take it they are the worst lump of shit ever . i got a 1987 evinrude 9.9

I have had several of these in the 9.9 size, gave good power, but saltwater is the kiss of death for them. Sold em all. good luck with yours, it looks and sounds great.
