I always hated the idea of feeling restricted with RC to the range of the transmitter, but with this system, it's like a whole world of freedom, quite an inspirational vid for me actually.
around a 1 hour ride at 75 percent, and a 9 volt tandrin for the transmitter battery pack which lasts quite a while, it's not easy getting the equipment
but if you look on ebay and piece together your stuff and ask questions from ppl who do it
but, where can i get the transmitter, car, and other stuff at!?
cuz this is pretty awesome! i always wanted an R/C car that can go 5 miles away plus fast and even with a camera! i need help finding all i need... it would be awesome for me cuz i could like do so many stuff and stay inside the house!
Rofl. This isn't some radioshack xmod or something from the toystore. This is a hobbie-grade RC. It might be a cheap one, but it's still hobbie grade. The battery doesn't determine speed either(not necissarily), the motor does.
They even have gas powered RC's too. The Traxxas Jato 3.3 can go 0-60mph in less than 5 seconds. Traxxas E-Maxx is an electric truck that can do 50+mph.
yea i plan on doing another one soon, once i get the funds for a bigger more powerfull car. this one was some tiny 1:10 unmodified 'lectric i got one bay , i mean it's LOW to the ground surprised it lasted that long
Seems like this can be done with a long range transmitter and a el cheapo cell phone running something like windows mobile with video streaming software or vnc hooked to a computer and on the ev-do network or other high speed network to stream the video to a laptop, that way you can monitor and record the vid from your computer while at the sametime likely recording it from the phone also, try looking into a ppc6700, you can catch them on ebay for about 100 dollars or so , just a suggestion.
dude, ur radio can transmit video too?? for 5 miles? wow... i really wanna do the same with my helicopter, fly it remotely too... any suggestions for a camera system? i can transmit more than 10-20 meters at the moment :(
your gonna wat to go to a radio shack and buy a small security camera that runs on a 9 volt camera, normally they can transmit from about 50meters or less.
you could try getting a longer antenna. or a better transmeter abd reciver , however those tend to cost alot unless you can find a second hand one...i am not shure if you understand but i hope i helped.
Nice work, man! Hey, did you modify the transmitters/receivers (both for control and video) to get such range or do you just have powerful transmitters/receivers? thx
Pretty cool video, although the car looked like it could've been faster, but in those conditions, may have been harder to drive. Yeah, any hobby style high end radio will give you that kind of range. The radio I use is an Airtronics M11 and paid about $350 for it with good servos and Spektrum sys..
lsn i hve some Q's for u , can u add me on msn ks_s@live.com , thanx (y)

Great vid!
I've been messing around with rc cars for a long-time.
I can't figure out how you get the live video signal, it must be a ton of equipment.
Great job man!!!!!!

i use endurance over weight in the batteries
these are nimh cells doubled at 4000 7.2 x2

That videos sick. I'd love to do an on-board camera with my car but the only thing i got to strap in my camcorder are a shit load of rubber bands.
jackass18241 4 years ago
you should by a security camera that can run off a 9 volt battery, ,then you can just glue or screw it into place...i'd go with both.

okay thanks heaps. i'll try that.
