  • I got a stock k20z1 and it rev limit is 8800 it's been turned 9000 never had any problems and that goes for my buddies rsx with a k20a3 it's turning 9000 everytime he runs it is on a type s ecu it feels like real vtec even without hi lift like a2 z1 so on

  • I just bought an 05 Type S a couple days ago. I am watching these videos and I keep seeing people shift at around 8,500 rpm. Obviously this is past the redline. Isn't this terrible on the engine?? And isn't there a rev limiter or do these people have that Kpro thing on there?

  • @NIUGARY stock rev limit on a 05 S is 8300. Ive been hittin 8300 for the past 75K miles i my rsx and it runs perfect, Just dont hit the fuel cut. Reflash pushes the limit to 8600...and its still good

  • @NIUGARY around 8500 is when cavitation starts to happen. I heard the oil pump doesn't keep up with flow to the engine

  • I've had a '03 Honda civic before and redlined it every day, a '01 Camaro SS redlined every day(you can check my video of bouncing it off the rev limiter), 1998 Mustang GT redlined nearly every day, '06 ZX6R (636) redlined every day, '06 SRT8 Charger that I still redline every day, and none of my shit has ever broke. None of those cars even smoked or burned oil, not even a little. civic-220k miles, Camaro-90k miles, zx6r-11k miles, mustang-150k miles. Silverado-210k miles. 350Z-110k miles.

  • @408Mustangs i don't "think" that it can redline for years , i KNOW it can. keep the oil clean and honda engine outlast most gasoline engine , even if you redline it couple times a day. i had honda's and i will have more since their engine just last and last.

    You know the kid makes a point. I'm an ex Civic Si owner (currently G35 so I don't treat my car this way anymore as its a whole lot more expensive) but redlining my car like that was a weekly habit for me. Drove the car for four years, sold it, and I'm still being informed the car still runs great.

  • K only want to say that hondas can deffinetly redline all day for years and be fine, I've owned 2 accords with WELL over 200,000 miles, one even blew a timing belt and still ran fine (luckily), I redlined these cars EVERY DAY, probably a dozen times or more often, I mean bouncing off the limiter redline... they both still run great. Not to mention I used to mud and off-road them at high speeds. Hondas are solid engineering.

  • @408Mustangs Doesn't mean that if they have low horse power they can get away with Revving that high.. Just means they are built stronger and lighter than you stupid Mustang which probably burns oil, can't turn a corner doing more than 30 MPH, and still gets 10 MPG.....

  • @408Mustangs Lets be a little honest with how much HP an RSX (K20Z1) has. They rated it at 200bhp stock, and its a small 4 cylinder. Just bacause you own a mustang doesn't mean you have to be an asshole to every person who drives an import. I support the economy myself but the almost equvilent to an RSX or civic SI is the American dodge SRT4 and there is no way i'd buy one of those to support our country, they are ugly as shit. Mustangs are heavy, gas guzzling, bulky. Not my forte I suppose.

  • 200bhp stock, and I'm sure that's underrated...I have nothing against imports, it's mostly the dumbasses that drive them. Imports havent been factory fast untill the last 10 years or so, before that...Well, let's be serious, besides the older NSX-Ts and Supras, it was all bad. But let's be serious for a second, there's no 4 banger going fender to fender with a legit V-8 stock to stock, mod for mod or $ for $. Never seen, never will.

  • @408Mustangs I agree that i've never seen a v8 with mods go against a v4 with mods and thats because it seems as if bigger cars like a Musatng,Camero what have you, only race 1/4 mile and straight aways. I've never seen a mustang on a GT track or any kind of track that involves handling, turning. I also believe that there are just as many idiots driving 8 cylinder american made cars as there are driving imports. I believe that for a 4 cylinder, my car has potiental IN ITS CLASS.

I'm doing some small interior/exterior mods maybe even small engine mods in a bit then I'm going to sell it. I'm doing that because the condition of it isn't really worth more then $3,500.00

  • yeah, it's brake. its a front wheel drive car on a dyno, so only the front wheels will be moving, no reason not to be extra safe and lock up the rear wheels with the E brake
