Indians need to go to the gym, run outdoors, eat sensibly, have a hair cut, comb their hair daily, properly shave, wear proper clothing - jeans, khaki long pants, sneakers, etc.
clean up the garbage/filth in your cities.get rid of the slums. clean up the ganges and build monuments to represent your ancient civilization. build wide boulevards in cities.Indians have no vision and sophistication. Your politicians need to clean themselves up, come their hair and wear decent clothing and learn to speak. your ambassadors and consulate representative allover the world cannot speak properly, have no confidence and looks like they are scared of evrthing that don't looks indian.
@rohitb3 Be practical. Even if we are a 1 trillion$ economy, our nominal GDP per capita is only around 1,500 USD. Compared to other 'industrialized' economies with $30,000+. We need to give people water and nourish our 50%+ under nourished children, before automatic doors.
If they spend money on automatic doors, that would be like peanuts compared to the total money spent on infrastructure.
1500USD is not soo bad, because our inflation rates are really low compared to other nations.
And to be honest..Money for infrastructure is not a prob at all...they are spending lakshs of crores to build monorails and metrorails in Mumbai, but cant spend a few crores on doors?
They actually want ppl to hang out to accomadate more. :/
@rohitb3 I agree about the buses. I used to live in Delhi, and really want the same quality of busses here in Mumbai, where public transport is more depended on.
Not true. With automatic doors, people will only crowd the train cars as much as possible. One example is here in NYC: once the car is crowded, the train will lock the doors and wait until it's safe to move along. It's safer. It's embarrassing to see how trains move with people hanging on doors and windows in Mumbai; it's a lack consideration to people as human beings. It needs to be changed.
@LucasEllerNewYork@LucasEllerNewYork Thats the reason why we are building the metro. And I agree with you that that is a lack of consideration, but there are just so many people, and so much crowding that if the automatic doors are out in place, atleast one person will be crushed due to closing doors. And then, because of the obstruction, more people will try to come in. That will keep on happening and trains will be delayed. Thats just how Mumbai functions. Sad but true!
The doors are not supposed to crush people, they don't close while passengers are blocking them. And the trains cannot move if the doors don't close. So people need to learn they need to stay away from the doors so the train can move along.
@LucasEllerNewYork Thats the funny part, the trains cannot movie if the doors dont close. lol. Anyways, I am not here to argue or something. And we definitely need infrastructure for sustainable growth, but everything cannot be done at the same time.
some one can say me tehe minimum wage in india i´m colombian and i am in a un model in world bank comision and the project is about india less poluted
@111omnipotent There are no minimum wage laws in India. But the poorest in villages earn about 2 US dollars a day and the poorest in citites earn about 4 US dollars a day.
@sadhaklal Man please update yourself, there is a minimum wage in India that is Rs.100 per day. If anyone is paying an employee less than Rs. 100 per day then the employee can take him to court. Also this was set many years back.
@111omnipotent Many Indian villagers don't even earn money, they just farm and eat what they grow. But when they do earn money it's what Ominpotenet said.
Mumbai is great, and it's gonna get better ;)

@rohitb3 Haha :p probably if they invest in doors, it would worsen the situation. Rail will be so much more cramped. It is kinda funny.

@111omnipotent Don't think there is a 'minimum' exactly, but for smaller, menial jobs, Rs. 60 ($1.50) per day is not out of the question.
