  • wow 330-350 at 10 psi? must have been reading very low. MIne hit 360 on 7-8 psi on 2 core. Didnt see any MAF upgrade? Sounds good though!

  • @1sickgt1 Like I said to someone before numbers mean very little. I'm trapping at 113/114mph in the 1/4, which is faster than some people who claim to have been dynoed at 400rwhp. Trap speeds are the best ways to consistently measure power levels. The margin of error is too large for people to accurately compare dyno numbers from one dyno to another.

  • might be a dumb question but does the procharger feel fast when your driving it? i was think about getting a kb for that instant torque but the procharger seems like a better deal but i want it to feel fast when other ppl are in the car with me

  • @Sk8FalIen Feel fast? Add over 100hp to any car and I would sure as hell hope you'd "feel" a difference. You honestly shouldn't be spending thousands of dollars to impress other people in your car though, I feel like that's the wrong purpose. The kenne bell will give you the feel more often (at low rpm) whereas you need to wind the motor up with a procharger to fully get the best out of it.

  • @mell00ut5 I wouldnt spend thousands of dollars just to impress people i just worded it wrong. I just want to find the best supercharger for my car before I go and spend thousands, so not only do I want it to be faster but i want it to throw me back in my seat when i hit the gas. thanks for replying btw

  • @Sk8FalIen Kenne bell might be your best bet for that every day "feel." If you want performance at the strip go with a procharger or vortech thoguh, because all of the peak horsepower is in the upper rpms.

  • @dapitbull2009 I've seen civics with "500hp" too. Dyno numbers mean nothing. The only real way to measure power is by your trap speed in the 1/4 mile. I'm trapping at 113-114mph with only 351rwhp. Guys that claim to  have 400+ rwhp can't even trap above 110mph. In the end of the day all dynos read differently, and you can't compare cars that were put on different dynos. A dyno is more of a tuning tool than a measure of power. And if you don't believe me check out my other videos.

  • @mell00ut5 I didnt mean to bash on you. i apologize. I know its a tuning tool. Dyno numbers dont mean everything. my truck Dynos 265but im not going to be my buddies 05 Cobalt ss that has 251.

  • When im completely done with my 5.0 which i do have videos of it currently, it should be making 400rwhp easily at just over 20lbs of boost with my s-trim.

  • @mell00ut5 well since it's the stock block i'll be tuning it down until i get a four bolt main block that can handle all the power im gonna be throwing at it.

  • @rp94cobra agree. 5.0 with 20 psi should be pushin maybe more than 500 possibly near 600 with the right parts.

  • @Sk8FalIen it's alright. BBK doesn't make some of the nicest quality stuff out there though. i would go with accufab or ford racing if i were to do it again. i had to adjust my BBl to keep it from vapor locking.

  • What kind of gas mileage are you getting? Around town and on the highway?

  • @jakkabo1 i don't too much highway driving. i live in a somewhat rural town (30-40mph speed limit, windy roads) and get around 21-22 around town. to work, i have to drive through a TON of city stop/go stuff and get a consistent 18mpg. of course i can't help but punch it here and there, so figure it would be better if i really wanted to go for good mileage. when i have to drive down to PA for school i'll get an idea of highway mileage.

  • What procharger pulley size do you have for 10 psi?

  • @jakkabo1 just the stock 3.85 incher. it spikes to 10psi from like 6200-6500, but i usually shift at around 6000. i need this motor to last me a while.

  • i have a N/A 99 Cobra that only has a K&N air filter and spark plug upgrade and im still pushing 350...... when i chip it im gonna run a dyno again, maybe you should think of a chip.....

  • @warmachine8860 for the record having a chip with a tune on it serves the exact same purpose as having the ECU flashed by a tuner. i would see 0 gains if i were to get a chip. and my tune is extremely conservative. 12* of timing to be exact. i know guys with my same setup running 18* of timing that are well over 400rwhp. i need this motor to last until i can afford forged goodies.

  • @mell00ut5 ..Was going 2 say that those #'s looked a little low for 10psi...i'm @ 395rwhp and 433tq @ 10psi with a conservative tune on my KB....but if it's a mustang dyno it will read lower than a dyno jet.

  • @Chuckieb1238 how conservative is your tune? how much timing are you running/ what's your A/F at? i'm running 12* of timing, so mines VERY conservative. it was on a dynojet, but the numbers are SAE corrected so they are a bit lower than STD numbers. my best run so far with a auto-x based suspension was 12.82 @ 114.03 on street tires.

  • @mell00ut5 my tunes right from the KB chip. so they dont take any chances with their tunes...air fuel is @ 11.8-12 @ WOT...cant take my car to the track bc verts cant run faster than a 13.5 without a roll bar here. sucks...i'll be taking it and running it 1 time down the track and getting kicked out in the next few weeks tho.

  • @Chuckieb1238 eek, i would ditch the KB tune and go with a custom tune for your car. i've heard way too many stories of guys blowing their motors with the generic KB tune. 12:1 is a bit too lean for a conservative supercharged tune as well. mine's around 11.5 all the way to 6500. did you put it on the rollers with the KB tune to figure out the power you were making?

  • yep, 351 rwhp, 353 rwtq. if i make enough money this summer i'll be adding a p51 intake and afm power pipe, and hopefully will see about 380rwhp or maybe more. the tune is pretty conservative though, which is fine by me.

  • @NomadGT i would love to add some "bumpsticks" and get some heads, btu i'll do that when i rebuild the motor. i only want to have to tear the thing apart once.

  • @mell00ut5 its easier to change an intake later than heads now. If you want a substantial HP increase then go with the sticks, your wasting time with an intake. Check out some posts on Modded Mustangs.

  • @NomadGT yep, i'm a member over at modded mustangs. my username over there is mell0. i think you misunderstood me before though. i don't want to touch my heads until i'm ready to pull the whole motor and forge the internals. i want to do all of that at once. and i don't even think i'm going to get to the intake manifold this summer. i have a list of things i want to do (brakes, SFCs, seats) before i start upping the performance any more.

  • yeah I do. not on yet but its a p1sc. I got mine off a Mach1 so it had a 4.00 pulley. From what I have heard/seen Procharger uses a 3.85 stock. But I wanted 10psi thru a 3 core so I got a 3.4.

  • just the stock 3.55 inch pulley. for whatever reason it made 10psi at 5500 and held it to 6500.

  • u should hav more horse da dyno probly was ready low my friend put out 350 rwhp on his 09 with cams, headers, exhaust n stuff but no major power adders. still luv da car man

  • yeah it certainly feels like more than 350rwhp but the numbers dont bother me too much. it's too much power for the stock suspension now, so im upgrading the suspension this summer.

  • Nice ride bro. 350 is really low for 10psi thru a 5 speed. Depends on how conservative tune the is. I would say 370rwhp is more like it with a mild tune. I am looking for 390rwhp on my 01 auto this spring with a P1sc and 3 core. Going to be stalled too. Suspension is important! Lowering it for drag suspension?

  • yeah the tune is pretty conservative. i need it to last me until i can afford a teksid and a stoker rotating assembly. for the suspension im going with bilstien shocks and struts, ford racing c springs, mm cc plates, generic subframe connectors, and some lower control arms. i'm going to drag it but im really looking for it to handle better so i can have more confidence when pushing it.

  • Yeah thats a good block. 85lbs lighter the our irons. Why stroker? I mean a standard stocker with dished pistons are good. nice setup. I am going H&R supersports, Bilstien shocks/struts, MM caster/chambers, MM heavy duty LCA, and subframes. I would recommend the MM heavy duty LCA....they are poly bushings on one side and the spherical on the other.

  • stroker because i can get more displacement without having to bore the block out. im shooting for a 5.0 or 5.1L stroker kit which should add a few ponies along with having the safety of forged internals. that wont be for a real long time though. and yeah i was looking into MM's LCAs. im not buying any of the suspension stuff until the spring so i still have some time to look around

  • I see. Up to you. Livernois makes a 298ci Stroker. With boost and a strokers your internals have to be really good. But then again with the Stroker you can use less boost and make the same amount of power. What compression ratio you looking for?

  • not sure yet. im probably going to get my kit from MMR and talk to them about it. im definitely going with some dished pistons to keep it lower though. at that point ill probably swap the pulley out too to up the boost. like i said though this isn't going to happen within the next few years though.

  • Sounds right for a 3v. They breath well. Full exhaust, cams, and other little bolt-ons a 3v will easily see 350rwhp with a godo tune. But they are heavier.

  • also, there so more people than you would believe that own cars with more horsepower that dont know how the hell to drive them, or put down high numbers at the dyno but cant get traction/have mechanical issues that keep them from running faster than a car like yours.

  • yeah even mine has traction issues. I'm at college now but when i go back home for the summer im planning on redoing the suspension to help it hook up/ have a more solid feel.

  • theres nothing wrong with those numbers! dont let people bullshit you about how they wage everything on damn dyno numbers.

    the p1sc kit with the 2 core intercooler and the correct supporting mods you have on your list are just fine! thats almost exactly what i'm running. with good drag radials you can keep up with a lot of naturally aspirated 4v cars. i only put down about the sam amount but the track times really show what the car can do.

  • they are a tad bit low though i have to admit. but honestly, it pulls like crazy. im 100% satisfied with the power (still gives me more than a rush every time i accelerate) and it's enough for me to control. considering im only 18.

  • no it's a 5 speed with the tremec 3650. in the details it lists my clutch kit and clutch components.
