Gee, I thought by your raiding of straw polls, your flooding of text message polls, etc., meant that Ron Paul was backed by the most Republicans? I mean, what about all those debates he 'won?'
"The omission from the AP voters guide implies that he was not a candidate"
--Again....those are the top 3 candidates AND it was more of a headline piece than a comprehensive section. And again, where's Thompson, Hunter, etc.? And on the Dem side, where's Gravel, Kucinich, Edwards? I don't mean to defend the AP, its just the way things are.
They all had verbally dropped out, except possibly gravel, who I am not sure about.
Take the Washington Caucus, this past weekend. I have heard quite a bit about Huckabee, and nothing on Paul. IMO, Paul is the only chance the republicans have of winning the general election.
And yes, most people have no idea who is running for the general election except Hillary, Obama and McCain. Yes it will have an impact, it is unfortunate the media controls who we elect.
From the fact that he draws voters from a broad cross section of the population. Those who vote for him, have actually put thought into why he is a good choice.
A lame excuse, how do you figure. Most people I speak with have no idea who to pick for president and they go to the media to determine who to vote for.
If you are never exposed to a better choice how are you going to make the decision, of picking a Duncan Hunter, or any one else.
--If 100% of those voting for Paul are smart people, that's great. If there are only a few thousand voting for him, then he doesn't win. Numbers count when counting votes.
"Most people I speak with"
--Again, personal responsibility dictates they turn on their brains & go find the info. Have any of them heard of the internet?
"If you are never exposed"
--Why is it I've been exposed to this info & those you've spoken to haven't? Again, personal responsibility.
"The omission from the AP voters guide implies that he was not a candidate"
--Also, if you haven't noticed the amount of coverage the Republican race is only an extremely small fraction of the coverage of the Dems race. I watch a lot of news, different sources. Only FNC gives equal time to both races.
The average person on the street, I bet, has NO IDEA whatsoever who's running in the Republican race. Tell me that's not going to impact the general election...
IF RON PAUL WINS THE SOUTH HE WILL BE PRESIDENT, THIS IS A KNOWN FACT. He has a Strong standing in Virginia, North Carolina,Georgia, and Texas already!
Love the banner. Can you imagine years from now, all of us will be able to take pride that we participated in something grand. We can do this if we play the game right. Oh yeah, don't forget to become a delegate or else it's all over.
emm.. I live in VA and I'didn't know there were happening here.... or else I would have gone to them. But Ron Paul won!!! I would've just made his percentage higher.... GO RON PAUL
It means that, those who care the most yell loudest. Do we want to allow "special interest" use their infinite money to tell us what to think and do, or are we going to do the telling.
Virginia had some nice loud yelling in their state, I think more state's should follow suit.

straw polls are also an indication of how much support a candidate is able to generate "on the ground" as opposed to telephone polls which are more often influenced by the visibility of the candidate in the media. the ron paul phenomenon has obviously been released beyond the internet - let's hope the republican party takes notice. Great job at the straw poll guys!
Please email hotforwords and ask Marina to do an episode on noninterventionism. Also, please ask her to explain that noninterventionism is very different from isolationism.
Love it. r3VOLution!! Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who doesn't want to run the country. Just the executive branch of the federal government. None of the others can even see a difference. And they desperately want to run the country, i.e., you.
Paul didn't bus ANYONE in. Nor did his campaign send out any plans for this. In fact, I think the campaign officials on site were blown away by the mob of Ron Paul supporters--it WAS a sight to see!
Some of us who had to drive 4+ hours carpooled to save gas $. BFD!
This was all a bunch of Freedom-loving, self-organizing INDIVIDUALS from all over the state. Ignore us at your own peril. The revolution is alive and well in VA!

This is about ideology not strategy. Strategy and the disregard for core ideals is killing the party. Ron Paul will save the party and America. God Bless Ron Paul.

Well, if the media would actually cover him as they do the others, maybe the 21% in Washington would have been 50+%.
Though all those AP articles I was fortunate enough to see showed him as either not a candidate, or a crackpot.

"if the media would actually cover him as they do the others"
--They gave him as much coverage as he was news-worthy. Polling at his level, they also gave little coverage to Tancredo & Hunter.
"showed him as either not a candidate, or a crackpot."
--Please provide a link to a story where they referred to him as not a candidate for the Party's nomination.

"IMO, Paul is the only chance...of winning the general election"
--Polling at 8% nationally (among Republicans alone), how can you substantiate that?
"Hillary, Obama and McCain"
--I believe most voters don't know who any Republicans are, even McCain.
"the media controls who we elect"
--That's merely a lame excuse. Ever hear of 'personal responsibility?' A concept nearly dead thanks to the Liberals.
FYI: There are about 40 people on the ballot for President.
