Your argument sounds contradicting. If a man pays on the first date, then it's done. I don't see why a woman would, or should for that matter, attempt to pay. If she did, then he could view it as her being insulting or questioning his finances. Her not offering shouldn't necessarily be seen as her not appreciating him, or using him. It isn't that at all. From how I was raised and taught my mother is for a man to open the door, help your woman or date into her chair, and pay the bill. I paid for my guy friend and my own taxi fare once and for three weeks I couldn't not hear the end of it! He was livid! He tried to give the driver his money but he wouldn't take it lol ..
