  • what's the music of this??

  • saving privet ryan in the cemetery

  • hymn to the fallen soldier

  • WOW all you lot can speak about histroy can't ya ha woah : 0

  • lotenma, The nazis were landlocked by the British & USA fleets. Hitler could not invade Britain. USA & British aircraft production was tremendous, and in 1944 USA alone produced by some estimates~96,000 aircraft. Hitler declared war on the USA. Eventually Allies would have gained air supremacy, and Germany had lost acess to necessary metal alloys due to the Allied naval blockade. So, the war would have lasted much longer without Hitler's mistake of invading the USSR.

  • christof139;

if there would not have been an eastern front, there would be no bombing at all, because than Germany would have taken GB aswell and there wouldn't be an airfield for the US bombers right?

There wouldn't be a D-day neither for the same reasson.

  • Check your facts my friend. GB defended herself and won the battle of Britain before the Nazis turned east and opened the eastern front. In other words Hitler's objective early in the war was to invade the UK then he could turn east and with no fear. He tried but was beaten back. It was the Nazis first ever taste of defeat and it was dealt out to them by the British in 1940 whilst Hitler and Stalin were still pretending to be friends.

  • Germany failed to invade GB while Hitler was still allied with the USSR. Thus Opening an eastern front did not change anything in this regard.

  • "Germans were closer to aquiring the A bomb than Americans" ??

kroust, please quote your sources: this is contrary to every information we have on German atomic research (mission "Alsos", etc.). And contrary to facts, too: Had the Nazis developed the bomb in Spring 1945, they would have used it...

  • nash3timemvp. There would have been a D-Day regardless of the Eastern Front exisiting or not, but it would have taken quite a few more years and more strategic bombing of Germany and increased Navla activity such as blockading the north German ports to stop Swedish iron ore etc. from entering Germany. Once we had the A-bomb it may have been used quite a few times on the nazis. Hitler was a lunatic and bit off more than he could chew, and it happened the way it did for a reason perhaps.

  • correction, germans were closer to aquiring the A bombe than americans this is why the d-day was constructed so quickly. and also to relief the russian front by obliging hitler to bring half his army in western wurope

  • Nazis were not closer to aquiring the A-bomb than the USA. In fact, it didn't matter if the Brits had or had not bombed the nazi heavy water plant, it didn't matter because the nazis had not advanced as far as the USA had in overall developement of the A-bomb.

  • nice video

  • Merci a tous ces jeunes gens , americain anglais canadien, venu mourir et combattre sur le sol de france pour la liberté

  • I thank all allies in this war, from england to Canada. the brave who fought the German War Machine, the brave who died. The brave who conquered...

  • Every time I see these videos thank those who made him but especially the American soldiers who died to save us. I am Italian and I am convinced that without the Americans we would be still in Italian hands fascist!!!! Marco

  • O Brazil teve participação... Mas infelismente não teve muita Honrra.

  • My grandad fought in world war 2 and fought on utah beach, and his brother fought on omaha, but unfortunately his brother never made it back home. My grandad to me was the bravest man i ever knew and all ally soldiers courage and bravery will stand in my heart forever. My they be in peace and god hold them for internity

  • Amen. Thank you for that!

  • god bless the all soldiers american, & allies that served in this terrible war, that god damn nazi basterd had to be stopped. because men are basicly evil, we must rise above ourselves for the betterment of mankind & defend the oppressed, true men of god, giving their all for the survival of friends, laying down their very lives in fear or courage, they deserve gods gift of peace, comfort forevermore.

  • Grandpa had a buddy land on Omaha Beach, shot 13 times by German machine gun. Woke up on the beach as the chaplain was giving him his last rights. Last I heard he is still alive.

  • No black Americans on Omaha Beach but we know they would have fought valiantly like they did in Korea where the desertion rate was sky high and in Vietnam where they fragged their officers, refused to fight, sold drugs, and again deserted at every chance.

  • you`re wrong, afro american troops were deployed during the european invasion, and a lot of them in the pacific theater too. and they did so even though they were treated badly. a bit ironic to fight against racistic believes with segregated troops, eh?

  • More left wing horseshit. Blacks served in no combat capacity whatsoever. With the exception of a few pilots. My fathers graduating class 1945 Parris Island shows exactly ZERO blacks in the photo.

If you want to see what blacks really behave like in "whiteys army"..read about he 24th Inf. Div in Korea..the deserted enmasse to get out of fighting.

  • You are referring to the tuskegee airmen, then there`s also the 761st tank battalion, and 75 % of the drivers of the Red Ball Express were Black, 708 lost their lives in the WWII. many more would have served, but the US armed forces were not desegregated until 1948. and this is not "left wing horseshit" it`s facts! may i quite Patton "I don't care what color you are as long as you go up there and kill those Kraut sons of bitches!"

  • you know, there are branches in the US military apart from the marine corpse?

  • the 24th infantry division recieved the Presidential Unit Citation for it`s actions in the initial stages of the korean war.ten men from the 24th recieved Medal of honor, including their commanding General.. and they were not black in particuar, they were hawaiian....

  • im not presenting my opinion, but with well known historical facts, if you think i`m wrong, then i must ask you to prove it...

  • 24th Inf was the most decorated unit of that war. They ran from the fight because white commanders fell apart during the battle and chaos insued.

  • actually there was a colored tank battalion and numerous infantry battalions during wwii

  • duckduckyIII, There were a few blackk tank and TD destroyers, and 1 TD destoyer, the Black Panthers, was considered by Patton to be one of his best. There were also black Arty. battalions. The 92nd Inf. Div., the Buffalo Div., fought in Italy, and another ID was in the Pacific. The USMC had numerous black units that became engaged in combat on some islands. The Red Tailed Devils flew fighters in the Mediterranean Theater and were considered excellent by both the Allies and Germans.

  • So, sorry, I neglected to stae 'Tank and TD Bns.', as they were battalions.

  • yeah cuz many didnt want them in their company...fucking racists

  • My granfather was one of the Norwegian paratroopers dropped behind enemy lines that day.

I am gratefull for all those who fought in that war. When I look around today, I see a better world, and I know those men did not die in vain.

  • America the land of the free because of brave men and women...I am not an American but my heart lies with you, i am from Canada and would fight for or with the Americans any day as a supporting Canadian soldier.

  • name of the song??

  • My great uncle fought world war 2 He was on the omaha beach.

  • Them Men were real men, they died for reasons, for us of today, fuck all the wannabee ganstas and idiots stabbing eachuva evryday, these were noble men, they were the best men to walk the earth

  • war sucks!

  • God Bless the GI's of the June 6th invasion in 1944. Please remember the Sailors and Marines in the Pacific D-Days too which were just at bloody and heroic..

  • I grew up in the 50's & 60's in a neighborhood where most of the fathers were in the War, but never braged about it. I met a Marine vet who survived Iwo Jima and stared in awe. The town of Normandy is still grateful to Americans. I once met a woman who was a child in Normandy and could see the beach from her home. I asked her about her thoughts of that day. She said with tears in her eyes "Americans; so brave, so brave." Indeed. God bless all our boys - then and now.

  • dude it wasnt just americains it was like...britain usa and canada. the Canadians were actually the first and most successful country in achieving their mission on D-Day they completed there task in 9 hours and it took everyone else the whole day

  • well she might of wanted to mention a thank you to the English and Canadians seeing as there were actually more of them then Americans on the D Day landing, never the less im thankful to ALL the allied countries that fought.

  • 71,000 Americans, 61,000 British troops, and 22,000 Canadians. Americans suffered 6,603 casualties 1,463 of which were fatal. British suffered 2,700 casualties. The Canadians suffered 1,074 casualties of which 359 were fatal.

  • imagination43: It's "might HAVE," not "might OF." Might've, a contraction for "might have." OK? And "than," not "then." BTW, what's "im?" Finally, "never the less" is actually one word, as in "nevertheless."

It's not what you hear spoken by your incompetent English teacher, it's what the rules of English actually are. And it all counts when posting for the world to see and read.

You can go home now, end of detention.

  • your dead right also d day was only made avaible due to the russian front it would have never been attempted if there was no russian front.well over half the german divisons were in russia.

  • everyone in ww2 , even on the Axis side, not all believed in hitlers Germania, and world domniation. many were forced, and placed in the gayest places, but may EVERYONE who believed in peace on earth, and war ending be praised, fallen and risen, alive or dead, everyone

  • john keen fought and got out alive love for ever1 who fought and died

  • We will never know what brave really means only, those who risked thier lives in the war for freedom and peace will. May those men who lost thier lives for this dream on D-Day rest in peace

  • tres belle video avec une musique qui donne des frissons.MERCI!N oublions jamais

  • God bless them men , bravest in history .

  • Amen

  • C un grand devoir de mémoire

  • Superbe!

  • My grandfather fought and was badly wounded at the battle for Tobruk. It's a shame that the war in North Africa is all but forgotten.

  • i totally still respect all those men though

  • @spouthog NO it is not.

  • @spouthog My dad Jimmy Leask, was also in North Africa. He got malaria there but had to keep fighting.God Bless them all.

  • @spouthog Not really; El Alamein is one of the most celebrated battles of WWII. In modern media the British are all but written out of WWII because Movies, TV shows, game developers are usually in the US and it's US stories they want to tell (Eg, there's not a single Brit in Saving Private Ryan) so, sadly, it all looks like the US beat the Nazis alone. For some reason war films about British operations have fallen out of style, especially in the UK. Doesn't mean they're forgotten though...

  • Merci pour cette vidéo !

  • It is because of these men that we live in a free world today. We owe our thanks to the multitudes who gave of themselves in order to protect the world.

  • very nice
