Puscifer aint such a new project. The 1st officially produced song is 5 years old now. The 1st live experiences and raw demo recordings are even older than that.

it takes some thought and perspective to understand Tool's lyrics, with APC all you need to do is listen or read the title of the song to get the general meaning of the song. songs like Jimmy, Stinkfist, Third Eye, and Pushit take something more to grasp. most (not all) of APC's songs are easier like , Judith, Imagine, Weak and Powerless, and Passive. and i love both bands. but i'm glad Maynard moved back to Tool.

Of course Maynard is all Tool. A Perfect Circle was always just a side project. He has been with Tool 1990, and they are way more musically talented than APC. A Perfect Circle is very good...Tool is the best, and they are huge.
APC is what you call a "superband", many already well known musicians playing together. Most superbands are side projects, but its undeniable that APC sounds great man.
APC does sound great. I'm speaking as a musician here. Tool's music is infinitely more complex, technical, and hard to play. Most signed bands couldn't even cover a lot of Tool's more difficult pieces. As I said, APC goood...but Tool is the best.
It could be too because Tool have been playing together for 10 years now. When you get to know your partners its easier to compose more complex music.
i wouldnt say that tool is more musically talented than APC they both have amazing music. The singing maynard does in APC really outclasses his tool singing (excluding pushit live and Parabol/Parabola) however the drumming and insane time signatures cant be found anywhere else than in the band tool (and of course a jazz jam)
Oh, come on. Im not bashing A Perfect Circle, but when you get doen to it, he does sing better in tool. To say that Pushit and Parabola are the only songs that he outclasses his vocals in APC is cutting him very short. Lateralus, the pot, stinkfist, H., jimmy, Ænima, Third Eye, The Grudge, The Patient, and even Reflection are so impressive, inspirational, uplifting, and just plain beautiful that there is no way that any APC song can top them.
You cant argue this because its all opinion in the end. The thing tool has over APC is that they have been a band for much much longer (APC no longer being one). So when you take all that into account APC's songs are insane. I am not downplaying tool or the vocal tracks at all but A perfect cirlcle's songs are vocally more impressive to me than alot of tool stuff simply because maynard had all the experience of tool to add on top of the often times more complicated guitar riffs of APC.

I whole heartedly agree. Music is a tool to achieving a higher place, BUT it doesnt have to be the "violent" moshing. Simply letting it flow through you and take your mind away should be enough. But hey, whatever works for you.

@Damagenc Or possibly expressing themselves but, feel insure about dancing in public so they resort to keeping their manly, testosterone fueled attitude intact by promoting aggressive and violent acts on/with one another. Hey, some people just need to break out. Some dance, some cry, some talk, other fight/push/shove their way out. Though self destructive, and for that matter, nearly purposeless, they seem to feel the music better that way. I don't think someone should be deprived of that.

Puscifer aint such a new project. The 1st officially produced song is 5 years old now. The 1st live experiences and raw demo recordings are even older than that.
I seriously doubt aPC will be returning.
In Keenan's own words, he and Billy are still great friends, but they definitely need some time off. After that they'll team up and do great things, he jokingly said.

tool are the better musicians on a "technical" level because tools music is deliberatley techinical. APC were good the first time, mer de nom is amazing, iha and twiggy added a comercial edge to the second almbum and it poo in comparison.

the only reasone i even listen to APC is for Maynard's amazing vocals :p

Shit yeah, it is. APC is amazing, but nothing (NOTHING) holds a candle to Tool. Tool is Maynards band, first and foremost; A Perfect Circle is just a sideproject. His genius knows no bounds.

it takes some thought and perspective to understand Tool's lyrics, with APC all you need to do is listen or read the title of the song to get the general meaning of the song. songs like Jimmy, Stinkfist, Third Eye, and Pushit take something more to grasp. most (not all) of APC's songs are easier like , Judith, Imagine, Weak and Powerless, and Passive. and i love both bands. but i'm glad Maynard moved back to Tool.

i love apc and tool... ive always considered a perfect circle a bit more approachful, and its easier for people new to maynard/the music to get into them, and ive always felt liek tool was a little deeper (maybe cause they were around a lot longer)... but i love em both. theyre both excellent and theres not a song by either of them that i dislike. love this song... wish APC would give us just ONE MORE ALBUM.

All of you guys have it totally wrong. Nobody cares whos riffs are harder to play. That doesn't prove anything. Look at the members of the bands. Look at who played with APC. Twiggy Ramirez, Josh Freese, Maynard (of course), Billy Howerdel (who worked as a guitar tech for Smashing Pumpkins, NIN, Queen, GnR, etc), Paz Lenchantin, Tim Alexander and more. I think Tool made a lot more good records than APC did, but A Perfect Circle had MUCH more talent involved in the playing and songwriting.

Wow, are you serious? APC has been dubbed by a lot of people as "Tool for girls." I kind of agree with that to an extent. Maynard's vocals in APC are nothing compared to what they are in Tool. Tool is musically and lyrically so much better than A Perfect Circle, I almost hate to put the two bands in the same sentence. There is not nearly as much time and thought put into Maynard vocals for APC as there is for Tool, and the musicians in APC are nowhere close to those in Tool.

Tool is better, but not because they have a harder sound, nor are they less "for girls" (w/e that means... afraid of femininity anyone?).
I think his vocals overall are more impressive in Tool, yet, in select songs his range is shown more in APC ("Outsider Live" <- amazing).

Of course Maynard is all Tool. A Perfect Circle was always just a side project. He has been with Tool 1990, and they are way more musically talented than APC. A Perfect Circle is very good...Tool is the best, and they are huge.

APC does sound great. I'm speaking as a musician here. Tool's music is infinitely more complex, technical, and hard to play. Most signed bands couldn't even cover a lot of Tool's more difficult pieces. As I said, APC goood...but Tool is the best.

i wouldnt say that tool is more musically talented than APC they both have amazing music. The singing maynard does in APC really outclasses his tool singing (excluding pushit live and Parabol/Parabola) however the drumming and insane time signatures cant be found anywhere else than in the band tool (and of course a jazz jam)

Oh, come on. Im not bashing A Perfect Circle, but when you get doen to it, he does sing better in tool. To say that Pushit and Parabola are the only songs that he outclasses his vocals in APC is cutting him very short. Lateralus, the pot, stinkfist, H., jimmy, Ænima, Third Eye, The Grudge, The Patient, and even Reflection are so impressive, inspirational, uplifting, and just plain beautiful that there is no way that any APC song can top them.

You cant argue this because its all opinion in the end. The thing tool has over APC is that they have been a band for much much longer (APC no longer being one). So when you take all that into account APC's songs are insane. I am not downplaying tool or the vocal tracks at all but A perfect cirlcle's songs are vocally more impressive to me than alot of tool stuff simply because maynard had all the experience of tool to add on top of the often times more complicated guitar riffs of APC.
