Hes Right. that motor does kickass, i have one myself. dodge stratus 2.4dohc. i was at 195hp at the wheels. its a nice car. with a neon too. i swear that 2.4l is the best stock 4cyl.

@xLarry311ss Best "stock" 4-cyl? Ehhhhhh. The whole parameter for "best" is way too broad for one thing. 2.4L engines aren't bad but I see a lot of them get replaced. But that's all personal experience. They are great motors when I've seen them running. But "best" is kind of a long shot because there's so many 4cyl engines out there.

Very clean under the hood excellent work. I'm working on a 97 expresso for Autocross next summer (I have all winter) as a cheap pocket race car. It has the 150 HP DOHC, and nearly all the mods I'm doing are body work / suspension / and weight reduction. I would like to add more ponies, but not if it will add too much weight / and or make the car more nose heavy. Do you have any idea how much more this engine weighs than the stock 2.0 L?

did you do any research at all? the srt-4 has 230hp and 250lbs of torque. a k23a1 has 240hp and 260lbs of torque. more power out of a smaller engine. if the k23 was mounted in a civic it would destroy your neon. and just for the record im definetly not defending crappy spoilers and fart pipes.

also i said if he swaps the 420a head he would need the ecu also ... are you blind ? or just ignorant ? 420a heads have been flowbenched and flow more than a 4g63 . thats also more than a588 or ecc . 420a head is reverse flow than the neon cylinder heads .

put the 420a head on the edz engine you still have the low end power , but it has the powerband of the 420a . and the edz powerband falls on its face after 6k rpm . You will realize that a longer powerband and a proper cam will not die off at 6 or 6.5k rpm ... my 420a spins to 8100 with peak power ( 206whp @ 8000rpm , SAE corrected 91 pump ) . with the 2.4 block and my cylinder head i could have 225 whp with 245 trq at 8k rpm . i never said neon heads are different design either.

hes got the 2.4 swap jackass . its the EDZ engine which happens to be the same bore as a 420a . people swap the 420a head and ecu for its top end and longer powerband . the 2.4 redlines at 6500 . the 420a redlines a 7200 stock and the head flows way better . the neon uses a sohc a588 or dohc ECC engine also the magnum uses the ECH sohc . NOW WHAT WERE YOU SAYIN AGAIN ??? FUCK OFF .
