This is very sad... :-( Thank you for making this informative video in memory of your pug. I wish that the breeders will start breeding the animals for better health & not only looks.
F1B Puggles (3/4 pug, 1/4 beagle) look more like historical pugs than modern pugs do. Totally says something about the state of pedigree dog breeding if a mutt is more true to type.
its so sad what we are doing to these dogs, they should breed them back to how the early pugs were like, there is no reason for the pug to be more exaggerated, if they do, there might not be pugs anymore, they could all die if we keep this up 30 more years.
I'm sorry for your sadness, but well done for pointing out where things have gone wrong. Lets hope that eventually breeders will put the needs of dogs first, and so enable them to live more normal, healthy lives.
Yes it is time to turn back the clock! as a pug lover and owner I would much rather the breed look slightly different and be healthier for it. Their temprement and character is amazing, and I'm glad we have our boy. Having said that i also feel guilt. for helping to perpetuate the breeding system that has created these problems in the first place. x
Omg I have a pug puppy and your video has made me very nervous and will try to be more cautious with and surrounding. Thank you
