no it doesnt iv never had any problems with my 2004 206 it starts every time, only thing i had to have changed is the brakes after a low miles and tyres and tracking
cool i like the thought that its from france a proper peugeot lol. how meany zests where made? coz its a special edition aint it? mines metalic aluminium
I worked at Ryton in the paint shop for 16 years, and i add that as far as working went i had some great friends and colleagues at ryton, we also had the best quality for the 206 something the FRENCH could never get.
Yes, there were some great people. Unfortunately the measured Quality was nowhere near the level of other plants in the last 3 years of the factories life.
RIP British auto industry. First Dagenham, now this. What do our glorious leaders expect? We all can't be lawyers or brain surgeons. Now they're even making harder to get benefits.
60% of the 206 made at the factory were for export, although a number of export cars were Right Hand Drive, most were left hand drive. Basically more than half of the 206 made there were left hand drive.
I have never been to the museum, as I left the area when the factory closed, so I can't confirm it is there.
The last car off the track didn't go to the museum, the car designated for the museum went earlier. The one you see here i watched roll off the track and it went to a dealership. If i remember right its actually a different colour!

I had a 2003 206 1.4 HDI 70 Style... Would it of been made in Ryton?
cmagennis927 1 year ago
@cmagennis927 Definitely made at Ryton Plant, at that time all right hand drives were made there.

To be honest the Peugeot 206 was truely a dreadful car, the 306 was a far better handling and all round far superior Ryton built vehicle.

Roland Garros was made in Coventry, not many of them around now.

Built at PSA Peugeot Citroen Ryton Plant Coventry. No UK spec 206's were built anywhere else in 2004

can i ask that as the last car off the line is in the motor museum - why is it left-hand drive?

Nice video :)
How can I know if a 206 RHD was made in England? How's the VIN code?
Which was the LHD 206 destination?
Thank you
djcocum 2 years ago
100% of the RHD 206 were made in the UK until December 2006, after that 0% were made in the UK.
The exception is the cabriolet which was never made in England.
100% of Cielo models (glass roof) were made in the UK both LHD and RHD.
I think the first number on UK vin was 7 but couldnt be sure.

that car is out there somwhere driving without the owner knowing that was the last car off the ryton assembly line
bobanddoug96 3 years ago
err no it's not. It's in Coventry Motor Museum.
Anyway, the last 3 months of production broke all Right First Time and finished vehicle quality records.
Do you know something I don't?

If you were there you know more about it than I do. I left 3 months before the closure. Thanks for the info.

But the video isn't about reliability. It's about social history.
Your incorrect statement on 206 reliability has no basis in fact or relevance to the work of art to which it is attached.
PS Why do you conclude that the factory shown is, in fact, "shit"?
chilvinho 3 years ago
Why is that relevant?
