  • I want him a my personal trainer.... >.>

  • I'm scared of Luke.

  • Good points.

  • we need instructors like you in the U.S.

  • @thechosenone1177 check my channel page dude.

I'm regularly in the US and I'm coming back soon.

We got branches in MD, CA, LO, NC and soon ATL/NYC!

    Cheers

  • I agree totally but uhm just for safety continue to use training knives :) I prefer knives to guns . so i keep a few shivs on me at all times and yes i've cut a few people that refused to leave me alone. It's a bad feeling (fear, adrenaline etc.) i dont wish that for anyone. Good luck

  • good stuff

  • awesome.. im in mass and would like to train in cqc knife fighting. any suggestion?

  • To those who believe guns are the answer to all self defense situations, you probably never met a good knife fighter. I guarantee you probably will not survive the encounter unless you have extreme specialized training in close quarter combat with gun & knives.

  • @curtisb3000 Im sorry to say that is a moronic statement....can a knife be effective against a gun, yes on occasion, but saying, you need a knife but a not a gun that is just not wise. I say you need both.

  • 2:42 "I don't use this block because it's bullshit."

Greatest reply to any comment ever.

  • So on the dot man! After years of training Karate style knife disarms I realised that shit does not work. Glad your showing people the real deal.

  • true man so true

  • Agree...We train in reality, and do the same with firearms...Get real or get out. I have faced reality, and agree, as the brain knows the difference when reality hits.

  • hes right....most of trainings isnt on anger, fear, drugs and alcohol. it so fast and unpredictable

  • man... you are a revelation... you condensed my suspicions into clear words... thanks a lot, you're great ;)

  • THIS IS WHAT IM FREAKIN TALKING ABOUT I HATE ALL THESE BULLSHIT VIDS ON HERE SHOWING USELESS "ROBOT" FIGHTING , WHEN A GUY COMES AT YOU HES GONNA COME LIKE A MAD HURRICANE AND SLASH , GRAB , STAB SCARY SHIT BUT GOOD TO LEARN..THIS GUYS SMART THUMBS UP TO YOU BRO..

  • Speak them words of gospel, Luke. Your vids are always filled with truth, insight, and the common-touch that everyone can understand and become better for it.

  • For some reason i'v been watching for over an hour to knife defense vids, and this one was the only one that's realistic. good job man

  • i give him a roundhousekick , finish!

  • muito bom o professor..gostei

  • when i was 15 i got jumped by 3 mexicans, literally jumped on and stabbed in the shoulder. I rolled the one off of me, pulled out my nice big k-bar gave him a good poke to the stomach, while getting stabbed again (this time in the back) by one of his friends, whom i then stuck several times, 3rd guy was smart, he ran away. fun times growing up, oh, and to the kids going into high-school with pocket-knives to keep them safe, folders are terrible, better than nothing, but a bowie knife is best

  • My first thought was "But the X-block thing can be found in medieval fight manuals... oh wait, that was for armoured combat with daggers." A dog of a whole 'nother color. :D

  • "I don't use this block because its bullshit" i lolled :D

  • We need someone like you around where I live, Id love to learn actual real knife fighting techniques but the only thing we have around here is countless fake "american" karate dojos.. its hard to find someone who actually knows what their talking about

  • Now this guy is the real deal non of that Fake slow mo crap. I know from personal experience, what he said is true. The person with the knife won't wait until your ready nor will he/she tell you Hey I'm gonna stab you in your gut so get ready to block. They will slice and aim at you randomly until they get you.

  • good point

  • @GEFStryker lol ok cool.. Im actually teaching a seminar in Ontario on the 3rd & 4th of September, contact me directly if you're interested in joining in! :-)

  • Getting stabbed sucks.

  • What's the name of the martial art he does? Anyone know somewhere in London I can learn this?

  • @CtrlAltDltYou Raw Combat is now in London.. there is a site but they won't allow it in the comments, google it or find us on facebook. The Instructors name is Scott Patterson. Good Luck

  • @TeamWuJin thank you.

  • @TeamWuJin I would like to learn knive and defense techniques, but I'd have to hit the delete button at SOI. Fortunately MCMAP is based on a relevant "school of thought".

  • @CtrlAltDltYou

This is an Australian guy the last time I heard he was teaching out of Saitama which is a city north west of Tokyo in Japan.

  • ...you´re so right, i´m SFCK-Fighter, i know what do you mean, real knife attacks are difficult to stoping, you must trainee so much time....

  • in the street there are very few ppl that could survive, leave alone counter attack,a knife attack...my coach was attacked with a knife once...he survived, but guess what...1)he had to disarm and kill the attacker in order to stop him and save his own life and he went to jail for 5 years for that 2)trying to disarm him he ended up with wounds that u can still see on his body even after 15 years...and that could had been fatal...what happens in movies doesnt happen in real life life also...

  • @kypselialani14 Looks like he couldn't "control the adrenaline" enough if he got wounded ...

Seriously theres no standard move in real life and not everyone is retracting their knife, I know from personal experience that when you've got enough space, the best strategy is to run away, if the attacker is too close, just punch him really fast in the face before running away ...

  • @kypselialani14 Sorry but your coach is lying to you. You don't get 5 years of jail time for matching force(in this case deadly force) in a self-defense situation. I know it is a bit off topic but that's the truth.

  • @kypselialani14 Excellent perspective. Real world stuff. Got to find other ways of dealing with an aggressor than entering a "cat fight."

  • Comment removed

  • @CassiusChrysanthe I really agree with what you said especially to an attackers pscychology. I've witnessed many types of knife fights ,seen some guys die which i hate to say and experienced a few encounters myself. Yeah in most cases they're really gonna kill regardless and always gurad your left underarm in particular.A buddy of mine got into one and almost died.

  • You are absolutely right on your point. I've been through it sveral times back home. The most scariest for me is when they grab and keep retracting super fast.Once u mange to get a hold of the attacking hand break the hand, wrist, joint or arm and flip around or take them down and finish them off with a disabling finish to where they can't get back up,Throw away weapon to where they wont be able to get it or slit them back on their wrist. If u bleed throw it back into their eyes to blind them .

  • true - true. throw something and run!

  • Ive seen Better .. Not bad .. But that Green screen Gym is awesome !

  • Dude you rock ! you no who you actually sound like, the abbot of chan budisim (the real 1 not the poser wushu whatever thats curantly sitting at the shaolin temple)

  • realistic nice learn kali specially karambit it will answer your idea!!!!

  • Nice no-bullshit realistic attitude.

  • X blk. Not ment to be used at all, in knife or any other life changing weapon on straight down or straight in attacks. We also train with real blades, and show how the weapon flies out of the attackers hand when u put the block or strike on full force, It comes right at your face or body, u just helped attack your self. Good vid Mr. L.H. keep em coming.

  • great video. love the straight-up attitude.

  • does he has a club to train

  • A knife is maybe the most dangerous thing at close range. You can´t forget to take your weapon,of course If you are feeling suicidal. Try it!

  • I feel bad for those who arent concealed weapons permits holders..hopefully Im never put into a situation of being attacked with a knife...but if I am I will pull my firearm and double tap to the chest.

  • You can basically do almost ANYTHING to survive when you just FEEL that your life is in danger and that you could die if anything goes wrong.

  • So real So true. Master luke

  • I agree with this video

  • knives are so much deadlier than guns. so all you who say "just pull out a gun and shoot him" dont know shit. if hes close enough to pull a knife on you hes close enough to point your gun away and stab you. i would gladly take a knife over a gun any day. he cant grab a knife blade without hurting himself terribly. keep telling people how it really is twj, cause we're in a day where knives are believed to be obsolete. your diong a good job

  • I agree to an extent. I served 6 years in the Army and did 3 tours. If you know how to use your firearm then it is deadlier than a knife to a degree. A gun, like a knife, should be part of your body and not viewed as a weapon. If you know how to use your firearm, it is just as quick as a knife. There is a video somewhere of a quick draw emptying the 7 shot mag after roughly 3 seconds from the holster. If you are using a 9mm or bigger there is no need for more than two shots. Hooah!

  • I respectfully disagree. Guns are definitely in my opinion much more deadlier because a gun is long range and short range and there are disarming moves for both guns and knifes and both can go the wrong way.

  • Excellent! Glad to hear someone talking sense and cutting out all this slow motion, poser crapl!

I was confronted by a knife attacker last night and it was obvious in the first few seconds, I'm not going to be blocking or disarming him with any fancy techniques.

I simply saw my opening and ran for it. Better to have wounded pride than wounded vital organs.

  • @wadehjb wow there are people with common sense on youtube =] im glad you survived your encounter my friend the world needs people with common sense

  • @wadehjb to run away/avoid (if possible) is allways the better choice than to fight/block, thats what every serious self defence school will teach you.

got nothing to do with pride

  • @wadehjb good choice man, if you are insecure wether you can handle it or not then the safest way should always be chosen. I am proud of you. I only know aproximently how I would defend myself if I was unarmed (which I am 99,9% of the time), but if there was a way to just launch 1 attack and then run I'd take it.

  • Fuckin rights buddy. most knife methods are total Bullshit.

knife fighting is russian roulette, one laps in judgement one split instantanious mistake and your bleeding or dead.

the fact is if someone wants to kill you with a knife theres not much you can do with these modern systems. i totally agree with this video in every respect

fuckin X block what a load of horse shit glad u pointed that out . nice to see a pro who isnt a total loser

  • The X 'block' is not supposed to actually end the attack or to end up in a safe position, it's a set up for a follow-up retaliation. By no means is it to be used as a definitive block from which you can safely retreat back to a ready position.

It is mostly used for stopping full-commitment straight kicks and driving low straight punches towards the ground for follow-ups though. Not specifically recommended for knife fights.

  • Sorry but if you are going to even consider using an X block in a real situation you have most likely never been in a fight...

  • cool story bro

  • Dude you make complete sense.

  • cicero555555

I know rich towns are relatively safe, but u can still get knifed. Living rich just means u have money and are worth stabbing or robbing. Or both.

This is knife defense not offence. How did you learn to stab first from this video??

TeamWuJin is right when they say "that made no sense"

  • at last someone that knows what they are talking about

  • thx so now when i get knifed in my non-vilant rich town in richminhill town in ontario canada i will now no how to cut them first rofl

  • What you just said made no sense...ROFL..

  • @TeamWuJin he means that he doesnt need to know because he doesnt live around those killer people "D

    haha killer people

  • @cicero55555 are u on drugs? there is a low housing project in R.H and alexander mac high school had stabbings all the time my brother seen 3 in 1 yr so shut up i guess if you never leave the house and just stay at home and play ps3 and world of warcraft then you will be fine

  • glad you posted this. before i started watching your vids i got some of my friends who wanted a lil training to do exactly what your saying to do. i went over basics, drilled a bit in, then gave the knife to one and told him to attack the other with comlete reality, to keep attacking and win. it went exactly how you just said, so different to drills. i try to always train techniques with that kind of reality. i agree with you 100 percent

  • Thank You

  • There is much wisdom in what you say and your stuff is extremely practical. I trained for 25 yrs in various Martial Arts and then met Guru Maul Mornie who opened my eyes completely to realistic knife defence and blade mentality. Your teacher and indeed yourself deserve complete respect, any body who questions this stuff is delusionary.

  • Respect. Very useful recommendations. I subscribe to this.

  • Absolutly true! 5stars

  • My defense for a knife attack is simple. M1911A1 IF I HAVE TIME to draw it! Otherwise I get ready to bleed because I know I'm gonna take at least one cut. I've never seen a real knife fight where it didn't happen. Like you say, it's real and there's no time for bullshit. Someone's gonna bleed.

  • fuck your measly pistol how bout MOTHER FUCKING FLAME THROWER TIME BITCHES!, :\ only problem is... i'l probably end up crisping everyone within 5metres for the fun of it, anyways... carry on pistoling :)

  • eh i posted 2 comments? lol must haf been a glitch or sth..okok thnks for replying

  • im skilled in muay thai but just learning knife defense just in case .. n yeah i agree wif u , u must use a real blade to learn this stuff coz.. when im in training in muay thai i do get serius hits from my trainer for leaving an opening so yeah thnks for the vids!

  • You're Welcome :)

Thank you for you kind words and for watching.

    Luke

  • im skilled in muay thai but i learn knife defense if i got in a fight lol..so thnks for the info n all been looking at ur videos..

  • i wouldn't train with real or sharp knives beacause i'll might acidently kill my mates.

  • Then for their sake and yours dont.

Dont even bother training if you not gonna take it seriously. You can use training knives but you need to be mature and safe about it. Whatever you do try to be sensible.

Good Luck and thanks for watching.

  • i agree with you totally i had done karate for a while and ended up being a brown belt very close to being black and they tought me how to defend myself from a kinfe attack :) then one day sum1 mugged me and i "blocked "them how i was taught i then ended up with a deep cut to my arm and quit karate:D

  • @8barrbarr8 Your alive though aren't you? Its almost impossible to not get cut in a knife fight. Did you kick the guys ass?

  • Hey great vid. I agree with what you said. You cant learn a few 'fancy' moves in a gym and expect them to work in real life, it just doesnt happen. I really liked how you mentioned 'training with adrenaline'.

  • A-MEN!! finally somone that gets it !!!!

  • you are absoulutely fucking right..

    realistic and to the point.

heck fighting with a knife is serious stuff.

and your totally correct about it.

  • I work with real knives in my Combat Hapkido class a few times a week. I've gotta say, it really does change the way you think about 'technique' and whatnot. Recently, I was in a real knife fighting situation. My friend was hospitalized as a result. You will not go into a knife fight and leave without getting cut. The only reason I wasn't hospitalized was because I know how to react. I didn't panic and I didn't think about technique. You'll only win if you can react naturally, and effectively.

  • Absolutely, you will get cut. Almost no way out of it. Blades are more dangerous than guns, and more people die as a result of knife wounds than gun wounds. The best personal advice I have is keeping dilligent and not letting someone who looks like a threat get too close to begin with. Aside from that, once they get in, you'll need that realistic training to simply stay alive...

  • There is one way out: run faster!

  • I like this video very realistic good explanation and out of all it shows the reality of fighting with knifes heueheuh 5 stars bro!!!! :D!!!!!!!!!

  • I like this video very realistic good explanation and out of all it shows the reality of fighting with knifes heueheuh 5 stars bro!!!! :D!!!!!!!!!

  • So what should be done when attacked with a knife?

  • You can watch other vids, train that or whatever you like and respond accordingly. The point is- dont train to expect anything. You have to be able to respond and be fluent instead of freaking out. this approach shapes your approach to training for it.

  • RUN... ;-)

  • shoot the guy, why use a knife if you have a gun?

  • because u dont always have a gun, fucktard, think before you post

  • hahaha, thank you. I was thinking the same thing the whole time. hahaha. Thank U kindly for your support.

    Luke

  • Bco shtere bloodey illegeal noob

  • I have no idea what you just said. Please feel free to re-submit your comment. Thanks

    Luke

  • Take this guy's word for it guys, its all true. I've had a knife thrown at me before, luckily, (this was the only time i could thank my teacher for giving me alot of homework), I was holding my binder at hand and put it in front of my face because, well, a knife was flying at me. All thats going through your mind is "holy fucking shit", and lemme tell ya, i was shitting bricks. There is just about NO self defence methods when your in a fight with a knife.

  • JKDSIFU? You have been in real knife fights? How, why? where? whom?

  • I know what this is going to turn into.. A my knife is bigger than yours arguement.. If you have questions for JKDSIFU please email him or send it to his account. I dont like these pathetic little squables.. Especially not on my vids. Be concerned with YOUR training, your the only one who matters. So what if he was talking shit..Does it really effect your training?

  • Fear and adrenaline is natural, however use it with skill, otherwise you are simply a monkey going ape shit.

  • Agreed, totally. But it does take a while to learn how to control.. If we were born perfect there would be no need for martial arts, training and self perfection.. We would have perfect judgement of distance & timing etc. But, back to reality.. Its good to change drills, make them harder and varying.. It keeps that adrenalin flow. Anyways, thanks for comments guys. :)

    Cheers

  • Dont get me wrong, hahah. Naturally in the back of your mind youre shiting bricks! But experience breeds true knowledge, nothing like it! Adrenalin, Fear, Reality- Nothing like it! I guess this is why I am so pissed about all the people who talk 'Reality' and they still havent experienced shit! In any case their feet arent on the ground and head is in clouds! Thanks again mate, Cheers.

  • You are right on mate! I see so many of this BS knife defense crap out there where the guy locks out or stems his arm out, ready to be "disarmed" - it never happens for real. I've been in real knife fights and it's nothing like what they teach you in the typical dojo. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who believes this. It's funny how fear and adrenalin changes everything. Good post!

  • Thank you for the kind and true words. Its quite simple isnt it. If you understand the true Reality and variable of a knife attack you will respect the blade and not under-estimate it. Im quite lucky to be honest.. I have been attacked with a knife only once, Threatened on 4 separate occasions and witnessed 3 knife attacks and two fights were people had knife, machettes etc (O.S.)
